Story
We got Coco as a baby pup for our daughter. He is a noble kind dog to her and protects her. He is fiercely loyal and very active. He is easy to tire out but is always up for more adventure and excitement. He's been a great addition to our family, unfortunately our cat hates him. There was no conflict at first but as he grew and became adolescent his teenager hormone mannerisms enraged the cat. They fight constantly and he refuses to defend himself properly. We fear for his safety around her when we're not around as he seems to almost wish she didn't hate him and tries to approach her. I'm hoping for maybe a person who wants to make more schnauzers or a home that really wants one. He's hypoallergenic so safe for allergies. If you or anyone you know is looking please share our Coco with them. Thank you for your kindness and consideration, have a nice day.

Story
Meet Misu — a 36-pound sweetheart with a heart ready to heal. After her beloved owner passed away, Misu found herself at a vet hospital, where our rescue was contacted to give her a second chance. She’s slowly learning that the world can be a safe, happy place and that meeting new people can be a wonderful thing. Misu is gentle and loving, and while she hasn’t had much experience with small children, she would do well with older, considerate kids who can respect her space. For now, she’d prefer to be the only dog in the home — she had a tough experience where another dog bit her, so she’s still building her confidence around other pups. She’s currently getting training to help her feel safe and comfortable again. Her perfect family will be patient, kind, and ready to show her that love is always worth trusting again. Could you be the happy ending Misu is waiting for?October 30, 2025, 2:15 am

ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Meet Pippa — your future best friend wrapped in a wiggly, cuddly puppy package! At just 7 months old and 21 pounds, this poodle/schnauzer mix is the perfect blend of playful pup and sweet snuggle bug. The world is still brand new to her and watching her discover it is pure joy. She’s curious, gentle, and incredibly affectionate, the kind of puppy who will happily explore outside and then curl right up next to you on the couch for cuddles. Pippa loves people, men, women, and kids alike, and she’s wonderful with other dogs, too! She shines at the dog park, where she happily makes friends and soaks up attention (and gives plenty of kisses in return). Her experience with cats is still unknown, but her friendly nature suggests she’ll do best with thoughtful introductions to any new furry family members. This smart girl is already off to a great start with training. She’s about 90% potty trained, does great going in the yard, and is still learning the ropes on walks. She already knows “sit” and “down,” is crate trained, and is starting to figure out fun games like fetch. With a little consistency and positive reinforcement, Pippa is going to blossom into an amazing lifelong companion. Like most puppies, Pippa has bursts of playful energy and will thrive with daily walks, playtime, and chances to romp with other dogs. She may occasionally get a little vocal when she’s excited or unsure, but it’s simply her puppy curiosity shining through, she’s learning more every day and responds beautifully to guidance. Pippa is ready for a loving home that will continue helping her grow, learn, and feel safe. In return, she promises endless affection, happy tail wags, and a lifetime of loyal friendship.  Her adoption fee is $350.  A refundable training deposit of $100 will be also due upon adoption. Training must be provided in a timely fashion to ensure our pups become the best canine citizens. The training deposit will be refundable within 3 months of the adoption date. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  February 13, 2026, 8:33 pm

Story
Please come to our adoption event to meet them: Saturday 05/28 from 4:30 pm to 6: pm at PetSmart in Clairemont, 4253 Genesee Ave, San Diego, CA 92117 **Please read all the way to the bottom about our organization, and how to procced to adopt. Nachos is a wonderful mellow young male fur 4 leg boy with lots of love to give you!! he has this wonderful soft & wired hair that makes him look so cute!!😊making him a hypoallergenic or low shedding boy:) He is very playful; and gets along with all dogs. He plays so much with his buddy an Australian Shepherd named Lady. However, at the beginning he is a little shy - once he is comfortable he will be very playful. He is crate trained. He is a cuddle bug once he is comfortable. He has the ideal size as well - not too small neither too large:) As with all rescued fur kids; he is going to need training, love reinforcement; as you know they all come from a tough beginning on their lives and the art of adopting a rescued creature is to bring them to be the best they can be with love and patience. He hasn't been around cats since we rescued him; therefore, we do not know how he will be cats. Nachos will make a great family addition to any family:) He was found next to the death body of another dog; we assumed a sister - he was crying for her - and wasn't let her be there left alone - The hybrid is a people pleaser and will, therefore, respond well to training while enjoying the attention and the chance to make you happy that comes with it. This Schnauzer Terrier Mix is entirely compatible with children because they demonstrate both playfulness and patience. Moreover, these dogs are quite easy to socialize. Are you ready to give him a forever home? If so, Please text at 619-576-0747 as 1st type of contact or email veronica.aaofusa@gmail.com or visit our website at www.aaofus.org and complete our application at the following link: http://aaofus.org/adoption-application.html .
