Story
Groot is a sweet four-year old Tabby looking for a new loving home because his owner has developed a severe allergy. He is an awesome family pet - he lives in a home with a dog and four children. He's great with them! In fact, he loves the hustle and bustle of a busy household, so Groot would do best in a home with children and/or a dog. He spent his first few years as an indoor cat but he's a stubborn escape artist and so he's now an indoor/outdoor cat. It's possible he could transition back to being indoor only! He's sweet and friendly, but he's not a "lap cat" - he's un-demanding, and happy to find a soft place to curl up and sleep the day away. He's ready to go home with his new family! We'd love to stay in touch with the new owners, if you're open to it - to help him adjust and hear how he's doing. We will keep him until he finds a new home that's perfect for him.

Story
I adopted Elita at Dakin in Springfield in 2019. Her birthday is September 25, 2018. She’s very affectionate and highly intelligent. 20 minutes of playtime a day in tunnels, toy at end of wand, light chasing, or throwing toys for her to catch helps her, because she likes to groom. Elita also has a heart murmur that may need one day a heart ultrasound to rule out any illness, but many cats with heart murmurs don’t have any sources of issues with it. I feed Elita Iams healthy adult dry food - she asks for it by going into the kitchen but you’re welcome to feed her 2-3 times a day instead of her preference for grazing a little at a time. It’s best to reach your hand out and have her come to you. She lets kids pet her but she first has to get adjusted and might hide with kids. She doesn’t really cry if in pain or ill so notice any behavior changes if you’re worried like not eating. She will cry a little in cat carrier but not the whole way.I am giving away her fancy tunnels, cat tree, etc.

Story
Malone is a very sweet, loving cat that does not require tons of affections but she will take all of it. She was adopted during Covid with another cat that terrorized her so my friend asked if I would take her and she has lived with me my kids, my dog the past 6 years. She does fine with other animals but is definitely skittish. She doesn't like to rough play with my dog but tries to be affectionate with him. She has never been outside. I am moving to North Carolina and cannot bring her with me but also, I think it would be too stressful for her. I would love her to go to someone whose lap she can lay in, where it's quiet and peaceful.

Story
Wini is very curious and playful. She loves hunting bugs and mice. She plays with mouse toys and string toys. Much to her moms dismay, she loves play fighting and wrestling and gets the occasional zoomies at night time. She is very good around children and strangers but she prefers the quiet nights. That's when she really comes out to play and is affectionate. She gets bonded to one person and will follow them, perch on their shoulder and allow them to cradle her. She is litter trained and an indoor cat. Wini was born in a litter that was unexpected. After her siblings were adopted we decided "why not" and kept her. After almost a year we have come to the decision that is too much to handle with our busy schedules and 2 children under 5, one with special needs who doesn't understand the litter box and cat food is not for him. We hope to get her to her forever home where she can get all the undisturbed window sunbathing she desires.

Story
Rosie is a 1-year-old sweetheart with the gentlest soul and the kind of loving personality that instantly makes everyone fall for her. She approached us herself while we were out rescuing a dog, carrying along her tiny baby and asking for help in the sweetest way possible. From the moment we met her, she was endlessly cuddly, affectionate, and trusting — making it impossible to leave her behind. It’s clear Rosie belonged to someone at some point because she absolutely adores people and adjusts beautifully around kids, dogs, and other cats. She thrives on attention, leans into every pet, and has the calm, loving energy that makes a house instantly feel like home. Rosie did an amazing job raising her baby, who has already found a forever family. Now it’s finally Rosie’s turn to be chosen and spoiled the way she deserves. She is currently still in Puerto Rico, but once an adopter or foster-to-adopt home is secured, she will make her way to the States to begin her next chapter.

Story
These sweet girls were littermates and are a bonded pair. They NEED to remain together. They are skittish with new people, loud noises, and other types of 'chaos', but I am sure that a patient caregiver would enjoy their affectionate sides. They would make perfect companions for seniors, as they love a predictable home routine. For example, they currently enjoy nightly treats hidden around the house like Easter eggs. Scintilla has the orange in her forehead 'M.' She is the most curious of the two and will likely be first to sniff your hand or explore the new terrain. Purrpetuity is more affectionate and most likely to become your lap cat. Earning their trust will be of utmost importance at first, but totally worth it. I am heartbroken to have to rehome them, but my family has had a recent cancer diagnosis, forcing changes to my living situation.
