Mario is the type to give sweet kitty kisses and soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. He gets along well with other felines and would be thrilled to be part of a home where cuddles are always on the agenda. Mario does have special needs, though, because he is FIV positive. He can still live a very healthy, active life, and can be adopted as the only cat in the home or with other FIV-positive kitties. Aaliyah and Eddie Vedder were saved from a life of having to grow up outside. They are some of the lucky ones! They are excellent at purring! And they love to play. Ball tracks and tunnels are just a couple of their favorite things to play with! They have mastered the game of play! Aaliyah and Eddie Vedder are testing positive for FIV at this time. Other kittens from their mother have tested positive as well and then later tested negative. Although we are still trying to spay their mother who is an unsocialized female, living her best life outside, we presume that she is probably FIV positive. Kittens can carry mom’s antibodies for quite a few months after they stop nursing. Even if they remain positive they can still live along healthy life. Feel free to ask us more! We saw a post about a cat that could no longer be cared for by their owner. The poster claimed that they had found the cat outside, so that it would be fine as a barn cat, that he was super friendly and snuggly. Rather than let him become an outdoor barn cat, we agreed to take him on with our rescue. We drove an hour and a half to pick him up.and the only info that we were given was his rabies certificate. We contacted the vet from the rabies certificate for more information. We were so glad we did! This cat had been pulled in from the outside as a kitten. He had been living his entire 3.5 year life INSIDE. Not only that, but the owner had been told at the end of 2024 that he needed a dental, with extractions. This poor boy was living with mouth pain. Heaven forbid that he had to live that way for the rest of his life in a barn! Luckily, we were the positive change in his life story. He was able to go to the vet for an exam. Overall he was healthy, negative for FIV and FLV. He received dental radiographs, extractions, and the rest of his teeth were cleaned and polished. He also got an antibiotic to help with healing and inflammation. He is now able to live a life with a mouth that is not painful. He's a super sweet cat that gets along with others.
