Story
Shma wandered into our basement just as the cold weather started at the end of this past January. She is very affectionate and well behaved except with our other cats. We have 3 older cats who've been part of our family for many years. Shma has some old scars and a torn ear and I suspect she had a rough time out there before coming to us and may not take well to other cats. She is lovely with all of the family members and our 2 cockapoos but has terrorized the other cats and their quality of life is now unacceptable. She would make a wonderful pet for someone who has no other cats. She is sweet and if it weren't for my other cats, I would be happy to have her stay with us. My son't girl friend wants to take her but won't be able to until this July. If someone wants to give her a temporary home, that would be wonderful as well.

Marlow is an incredibly cuddly cat who is more dog-like than cat-like. She will follow you around and loves pets and nighttime snuggling. Churu treats are her favorite! She lived with another cat a few years ago with no issues but has been a solo house pet for the last few years. Looking for a loving home that can give her the time dedication she needs.

Story
Rocky & Maggie are a bonded pair we are looking to rehome together.Maggie (right) showed up at our front door about two months ago during the blizzards. She immediately walked inside and made herself at home. Unfortunately, our resident cat does not like other cats which is why are looking to rehome Rocky and her. She is very affectionate and loves to play with Rocky and toys.Rocky walked up to our front door about a little more than a week ago. We heard his soft meows and I thought it was Maggie. They appear to be from the same litter as he is almost identical in size and markings to her. He immediately walked in and showed us how sweet he is. He loves pets and belly rubs, and quickly showed us he can get along with both cats and dogs. One day later, him and Maggie became best friends. We are requesting an adoption fee. This is for the kittens' safety as we want to make sure they go to a good home. They will be spayed/neutered with up to date shots by time of adoption.

Story
Wish is a sweet cat, but my current living situation doesn’t allow him to be as relaxed and comfortable as he deserves. I’m looking for someone with a calm, quiet environment where Wish can feel safe and have his own space. He can be defensive if he feels cornered or stressed, but with patience, a calm home, and respect for his boundaries, he’s a loving cat

Khole thrives best with cats similar to her age. An older cat may scare her. She loves kids! and is super sweet and gives the best cuddles.

Good with cats,
Story
Birdie (female tuxedo kitten) and Chief (her black brother) were abandoned outdoors in the cold with no food or water at the tender age of about 5 months. They were rescued on Super Bowl Sunday, and it was later discovered that poor Birdie was so starved that she was eating garbage and had consumed plastic bags, which messed up her digestive tract, requiring emergency surgery. She is absolutely fine now, and both siblings are spayed/neutered, tested negative, up to date on all their shots and vet care, and microchipped. They are very bonded and will need to stay together. Birdie and Chief are happy, playful kittens (born about September 2024). They are super friendly and are both foodies, as you might imagine given their history. They especially love their wet food. They are in foster with other cats and dogs. They’re a little leery of the dogs but get along well with all the cats in the home, especially Peanut Butter, another AFL foster kitten who is their chosen play buddy. They adore affection and attention from their humans. Don’t miss out on these champion kittens—get your application in today! House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Introducing the very lovely Kara. Her story is a sad one. Born in 2008, Kara had kittens who were adopted out, and Kara was spayed and adopted by a kind gentleman with several cats. Kara was well cared for, but one cat bullied her and made her timid. Her owner became ill and passed away in 2018. Kara was then adopted by another kind gentleman and friend of the rescue, who passed away very suddenly in June 2022. Kara is as sweet as sweet can be, but she needs some work and commitment from a special adopter to help rebuild her confidence. You need to seek her out, then she will thoroughly enjoy affection and will reward you with very loud purrs. Kara has been updated on all her vet care and is a very healthy senior kitty. She truly needs for her next home to be her last. A calm and loving home, ideally with no other pets (though she will adjust to kind ones), would complete Kara’s wish list. A senior human in need of a gentle companion would be just perfect. If Kara’s story stirs your heart, you just might be her person. Please apply today.   To learn more about Kara and other pets available for adoption, and to download an adoption application, please visit www.animalfriendsoflansdowne.org. Story
Meet Carleton, a majestic and impressively large cat with a heart as gentle as his rumbling purr. Carleton is the definition of a mellow soul—he approaches life with an easy-going demeanor and seeks out quiet comfort.   &#226&#128&#139He is a dedicated companion, but he expresses his devotion in the most wonderfully low-maintenance way. He is perfectly content to simply exist near you, whether that’s on the sofa beside you, or curled up on a blanket a few feet away. He offers his quiet company and soaks in gentle affection like head scratches and soft pets. &#226&#128&#139He truly doesn't ask for much—just a cozy spot, a kind heart, and someone who appreciates a big, gentle fuzzy friend.   &#226&#128&#139Home Preferences & Boundaries: &#226&#128&#139It's important for his new family to know that Carleton is not a fan of being picked up and carried around; he prefers to keep all four paws on the ground. A home that respects this boundary will be a perfect fit for him. &#226&#128&#139Kids: We believe Carleton can thrive in a home with gentle, respectful children who have been taught how to be kind to animals.  &#226&#128&#139Dogs: His interactions with dogs are currently unknown. &#226&#128&#139If you are looking for a calm, unwavering presence in your life—a large cat who will offer steady, quiet company without demanding the spotlight—Carleton is ready to offer his gentle soul to your home.     To submit an adoption application,  please utilize the link below. https://animalfriendsoflansdowne.org/adoption-application   Animal Friends of Lansdowne is a non-profit, all-volunteer community rescue, now in their twenty-first year.Animal Friends of Lansdowne Post Office Box 869 Lansdowne, PA 19050 (484) 463-1277 email: info@animalfriendsoflansdowne.org www.animalfriendsoflansdowne.org        Please Follow AFL on Facebook and Instagram!
