Story
** If you are interested in adopting Eddie, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Eddie! Eddie is a sweet and gentle boy, who found himself in a big, scary, overcrowded shelter in New Mexico. Farfel's got an email plea to help save Eddie's life, and we knew we had to help this sweet Aussie mix... I mean just look at that sweet video!!! Eddie is a 2 year old, 36 lb Australian Shepherd / Border Collie mix. He is a sweet boy who is good with dogs and people, and very affectionate. This sweet boy is a bit timid at first with all of his recent life changes, but give him a few days and he warms up. Eddie, once he was warmed up and is comfortable in his new environment, is a young, playful, and silly pup who will love his family with all his heart. He would enjoy another dog in the home, as he came into the shelter with another doggy friend (who unfortunately was adopted from the shelter without Eddie) and loves other dogs. Eddie will have so much fun exploring, and taking long walks and hikes along Colorado's gorgeous paths and trails. Hiking and socializing with other hikers is right down this friendly and active guy's alley. He is always open to new activities with a never-ending positive attitude. We'd like to place Eddie in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Eddie is up-to-date on his vaccines, has been fully vetted, and is neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application.** If you are interested in adopting Chowder, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ **

Story
UPDATE 4-6-24: Jax is currently being fostered in Tulsa, OK until the end of June, but transport to the Boulder area can be arranged for the right adopters. Please spread the word. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------- Meet Jax! He's a 5-year-old, 34-lb. purebred Miniature American Shepherd (mini-Aussie) looking for a great forever home. He's a loving dog that's always ready to play and do tricks. He's had a lot of training, including board & training school. His favorite dog sitter is also a trainer. His people brag that with all his training, he qualifies as having a doggy MBA from Harvard! Jax knows basic cues, as well as more advanced tricks. He has a big vocabulary. He is crate-trained and placemat-trained. He's an active dog who loves the outdoors. Fetch is his love language, as is going on hikes and walks. He also loves to ride shotgun in the Polaris when visiting a ranch. After an outdoor adventure, Jax is happy to lie down and chill near his people. He will follow you around the house. Jax needs to be rehomed due to an unfortunate incident with food and a toddler, who was crawling on the ground and grabbed him from behind. His family has a lot of grandchildren and decided that it would be too difficult to board him every time they come to visit. Jax is accustomed to teenagers so we think it's best to say No Kids under the age of 10. Jax came into his present home with two other male Aussies already in residence -- one of whom was suffering from anxiety. His people think the energy amongst the three dogs caused Jax to be insecure around other dogs. As a result, he has some leash aggression, however he can remain calm if the person walking him knows how to handle the situation. Jax can also be uncomfortable with strangers coming and going from the house, so super busy environments would not be the best for him. But in a home that's fairly calm, the best way to manage him is to give him a space of his own (crate, mudroom, etc.) when visitors or vendors are around. Family friends are a different situation and we would be happy to discuss that with you. We feel that Jax would do well with an experienced dog owner who will be able to give him exercise, direction, and behavior training, specifically in leash reactivity. We're saying No Young Kids in the home, and no kitties or small critters in the house as he's had no exposure to them. Because he loves to hike and play fetch, a backyard or spot with land is best. Jax is a loving dog with fantastic energy. He loves having jobs and will thrive being the center of attention in his forever home. With stressors removed, he will be a great companion to your family. For more info and/or to apply to adopt Jax, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.

Story
Meet Kylo! Kylo is a beautiful 5-year-old Red/Tricolor purebred Aussie Shepherd looking for a forever home. His people cannot keep him due to a newly-imposed rental restriction, and Summit Dog Rescue is stepping in to help. He's an amazing and extremely smart boy. He's really good with other dogs and often prefers the company of being around them. He's been living happily with a Corgi mix, and Kylo has always been very gentle and playful with him. Kylo can be cautious at first when meeting new people, but once he warms up he can be the most loyal and loving animal you'll ever meet. With some training and a lot of love and guidance, Kylo will be the best dog anyone has ever had the privilege of caring for. He's a very sweet and sensitive boy who will need someone to work with him when out on walks. His ideal home will have a yard or some space around it. He's currently living in an apartment, and it's too difficult walking him in such a busy environment. We're saying No Kids Under 10, please and thanks. Applicants with previous dog experience will be given priority. For more info and/or to apply to adopt Kylo, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.
