Story
Meet Arnold ! LIVING WITH A DOG TRAINER! He is a goofy, wiggly boy who’s often on the move. Despite that, he also loves to lounge and cuddle up in the house. We believe the is a shepherd/husky/herding dog mix. He has some herding dog tendencies, like gentle nipping at hands when he’s excited, but he’s quickly becoming more polite and respectful in the home. He also has the German shepherd loyalty! He would make a fantastic off leash hiking companion as he sticks very close by to his person and is non reactive. Exercise wise, Arnold needs 1-2 hours of activity a day. He loves to walk, run, play tug, play with other dogs, and explore new places! He currently is learning drop it, sit, and recall and doing very well. Arnold is shy with new people and tends to avoid/ignore at first but then he starts to show more of his personality. He is in a foster home with a dog trainer and is getting a lot of healthy socialization with dogs and humans. He is also working on his crate training and learning to be okay on his own. He loves to be pet and will melt for belly rubs! Arnold and Bria came from a hoarding situation in Texas, where there were 20 other dogs living in very difficult conditions. After being rescued, he had to fight hard at the start but today he’s healthy and ready for a forever home. All POSO Dogs come with: - Spayed/Netuered - Basic Shots (age appropriate) - Fecal and tick disease testing - other medical concerns addressed before adoption - 2 Free one on one dog training sessions with a professional dog trainer - Training received in foster home - Basic things like some food, treats, leash and collar - PDFs of training material and local coupons and dog sitter recommendations

With him, every day is a new adventure. Breed Information: As a mix of Border Collie and Australian Cattle Dog, Benito is naturally intelligent, alert, and active. These working breeds are known for their stamina, loyalty, and sharp minds. Benito will benefit from regular physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep him balanced and happy. Puzzle toys, training sessions, and active play will help him shine. He’s eager to learn and eager to please! Owner Responsibilities: Provide daily exercise: walks, play, fetch, or dog sports Offer mental stimulation through training, puzzles, and games Use positive reinforcement training—Benito is smart and responsive Maintain regular veterinary care and vaccinations Ensure he’s part of the family, not left alone for long periods Provide structure, patience, and love Create a safe, indoor home environment Commitment for Life: Benito is not a short-term companion—he's a lifelong partner. Adopting him means committing to his care, well-being, and happiness for all of his days. He needs a family that understands that dogs are not disposable—they are forever. Story
Bruce is a 10-month-old puppy who’s funny, silly, and full of energy. He’s a little wild in a puppy way and absolutely loves being outside—running, exploring, and burning off energy. He would do best with someone who has a backyard and enjoys an active, outdoor lifestyle like hiking or long walks. This isn’t a rushed rehoming. I care deeply about Bruce and am looking for the right fit, not just any home. He deserves someone who can give him space, time, and a lot of love.

Story
I got my baby boy from a breeder near Colorado Springs. He is now 8 years and 7 months. He needs to be re-homed because he is not adjusting well to our now one year old. He never bit her. But he was showing teeth and getting more aggravated. It was clear that our baby was at risk of getting harmed and also since the baby my dog just hasn’t been happy. He’s stressed out and depressed (only when at my house). He deserves a child free and dog free home where he can thrive and love life again. And you have to have a backyard. He’s still high energy. Obi has a zest for life. When he’s outside he is full of so much joy it lights anyone up. He loves to play fetch and keep away. He LOVES people. He warms up fast and loves hanging out with visitors. He’s smart. He’s playful. He’s loving. He’s just the best dog anyone could ask for. Obi will fill your home with energy, excitement, snuggles, and love. I want the rest of his life to be a happy one. He deserves it! And his new owner too.

Story
Video https://www.youtube.com/shorts/8Z2ZfztKUHE Jazzy is a border collie mix and about 6 months old. She is so pretty and happy and friendly. Great with dogs of all sizes and with cats. Randomly goes for a swim in the pond. Affectionate but also independent. Currently about 30 lbs. Someone will be very lucky to bring her into their family. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tacoma, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) Vetting: spayed, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection. Story
Meet Hassan Breed: Husky / Kelpie Mix Sex: Male DOB: July 17, 2022 Weight: 66 pounds Health: Healthy and vaccinated Hassan is a striking, intelligent boy with soulful eyes and a strong, resilient heart. He was abandoned and rescued from a very busy roadway, where he was dangerously close to being hit by cars. Thankfully, he was saved in time — and now he’s ready for the safe, loving forever home he deserves. Despite his difficult beginning, Hassan has remained loyal, playful, and full of life. Personality Hassan lives peacefully with other dogs and enjoys being around humans. He loves going out for walks, running, and exploring the world around him. Playtime is one of his favorite things — especially chasing a ball or carrying around plush toys. When he first meets new people, Hassan can be a little reserved or cautious. But once he gets to know you, his personality softens beautifully, and he becomes affectionate and loyal. He just needs a little time to feel secure. Hassan does not like sharing his food, so he would do best in a home where feeding routines are managed thoughtfully and respectfully. Breed Info: Husky / Kelpie Mix This is a smart, athletic mix that typically brings: High intelligence and problem-solving ability Strong loyalty to their people Active energy that thrives with exercise A desire for engagement and purpose Hassan will do best in a home that enjoys walks, outdoor time, and mental stimulation. Owner Responsibilities Hassan will thrive with: Daily exercise (walks, running, play sessions) Continued positive reinforcement training Clear structure and consistency Managed feeding routines due to food guarding Patience while he builds trust with new people He is not difficult — he simply needs leadership, routine, and love. &#226&#154&#160&#239&#184&#143 Things to Consider Before Adopting Before bringing Hassan home, please consider: Do you have time for daily exercise and enrichment? Is your home and lifestyle stable long-term? Are pets allowed where you live? Can you provide structure and manage feeding separately if needed? Adoption is a lifelong commitment, especially for an active breed mix Hassan deserves a home that won’t give up on him. Vet Care Although Hassan is healthy and vaccinated, adopters should schedule a visit with their own veterinarian as soon as possible after adoption to establish care and continue his wellness routine. The 3-3-3 Rule First 3 days: Hassan may be cautious and observant as he adjusts. First 3 weeks: He’ll begin to learn your routine and feel secure. First 3 months: Trust deepens, and his loving, loyal personality truly shines. Patience and consistency will help him flourish. Why Hassan Is Special Hassan survived being abandoned and left in danger — yet he still chooses trust. He is playful, intelligent, and deeply loyal once he bonds. He deserves stability, safety, and someone who will show him that he is finally home for good. If you’re ready for an active, devoted companion who will stand by you with loyalty and heart, Hassan is waiting for you If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue. Story
Meet Maya – A Spirited Sweetheart Looking for Her Forever Home! Name: Maya Breed: Australian Kelpie–Terrier Mix DOB: December 7, 2024 Weight: 30 pounds Spayed, Vaccinated, and Healthy About Maya: Maya is a beautiful, medium-sized girl with a bright mind and a playful heart. She’s active, friendly, and full of curiosity. Whether it’s chasing a ball, going for a walk, or exploring the backyard, Maya is always up for an adventure. She loves people and enjoys being part of the action—but when playtime is over, she’s happy to curl up near her favorite humans. Breed Info – Australian Kelpie x Terrier: Australian Kelpies are highly intelligent, loyal working dogs with strong herding instincts. Terriers are energetic, clever, and full of personality. As a mix, Maya is the perfect blend of smart and spirited. She’ll thrive in a home that can provide both physical activity and mental stimulation. Expect a dog who learns quickly, bonds deeply, and loves to stay busy. Owner Responsibilities: Provide daily exercise (walks, playtime, or training games) Offer basic obedience training and positive reinforcement Feed a healthy diet and maintain regular veterinary care Include Maya in family life—she’s not a dog to leave alone or chained outside Keep her mentally and physically active to prevent boredom Provide love, patience, structure, and a sense of safety Things to Consider Before Adopting Maya: Time & Energy: Maya needs more than a quick potty break. She’ll do best with a person or family who is active and engaged. Finances: Dogs require ongoing expenses (food, vet visits, flea/tick prevention, grooming, toys, etc.). Housing Rules: Make sure your landlord allows pets—especially medium-to-large breeds. Allergies: Check for pet allergies in the household. Lifelong Commitment: Maya could live 12–15+ years. She’s not a temporary guest—she’s family. No Outdoor Chains or Isolation: Maya needs interaction, exercise, and affection. Leaving her tied outside is not safe or fair to her well-being. Why Maya Will Be a Great Addition: Maya is intelligent, affectionate, and ready to love her people with her whole heart. She’s great for active individuals, couples, or families who want a smart, loyal companion to join them on walks, hikes, or playtime in the yard. *****Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time*********** We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. ___ Meet Mylo – a 4-year-old, neutered, 44-pound Cattle Dog mix with a tongue that just can’t be tamed and a heart that’s even bigger. Currently in a foster home in San Antonio, TEXAS, Mylo is ready to transport out of state once his forever family is approved and ready to fall in love. Let’s start with the obvious: Mylo has a perma-blep. That’s right—his tongue is just a little too long for his mouth, and it’s almost always peeking out like he’s mid-lick or permanently saying, “hi.” A vet has checked it out and confirmed there’s nothing wrong—he was just born with extra tongue and endless flavor to sample. It doesn’t cause him pain, but it does mean he occasionally needs a little extra hydration. He also has a slight protruding bone at the base of his rib cage—again, no cause for concern, just more proof that this boy was truly “born this way.” We like to say he’s one part goofball, one part model, and 100% original. Mylo is an affectionate, silly, and curious guy who loves to play and explore. He has a bit of that classic Cattle Dog energy—he thrives with daily activity, enjoys long walks, and loves a good romp in the yard. He plays well with dogs of all sizes and currently lives in a multi-dog home with pups ranging from tiny Chihuahuas to an 80-pound Boxer mix. He does well reading other dogs’ social cues and adjusts his play accordingly. He’s also very vocal when he plays or gets excited—growling, grunting, and making silly noises are just part of his charm. Once you get to know him, you’ll realize it’s just his voice, not a sign of anything aggressive. He enjoys meeting new dogs on walks, though he might sound a little intense at first—again, that vocal streak—but he’s friendly and well-mannered. He’s shown some interest in chasing cats, so to be safe, a feline-free home is best. Mylo has met children of various ages through his foster family and has done well overall. Due to his occasional jumping and enthusiasm, we recommend a home with older kids (10+) who are steady on their feet and understand how to interact with an active dog. He’s loving and playful, and with continued positive training, will only improve his manners. This boy LOVES walks and has a zest for getting out and about. He can pull on leash when excited, so a no-pull harness or Gentle Leader may help make walks more enjoyable. He’s fully house trained and has been trusted to stay loose when unsupervised, usually sticking to his gated area and dog bed like a gentleman. While he hasn’t been crated in his foster home, he’s done very well with the freedom and would likely thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not, or with a flexible schedule. Mylo is currently fed separately from the other dogs—not because he’s aggressive, but because he prefers not to share his snacks or special treats. (Honestly, who among us does?) With his people, though, he’s playful, cuddly, and incredibly affectionate. He greets his foster dad with enthusiastic hops and playful vocalizations, looking like the happiest dog in the world—with his tongue hanging out and his tail wagging in full swing. He’s also very smart and responsive to redirection. He listens when called, loves being praised, and wants so badly to be a good boy. Like many herding breeds, he thrives on routine and benefits from clear communication and a bit of structure. He may occasionally flinch at quick movements or new objects (like a broom), so a patient home that understands his background and lets him settle in at his own pace will help him feel his best. Here’s what Mylo is hoping for in his forever home: - A moderately active family with a yard or access to one where he can run, sniff, and sunbathe - A few good walks a day or fetch sessions to burn energy and keep him happy - A family who will give him tons of love, belly rubs, and attention - People who embrace his quirky personality and celebrate his uniqueness - Continued support with basic manners like jumping and treat-taking (he’s already working on it!) - A home with older kids (10+) and maybe a friendly dog buddy or two - And most importantly: a soft place to land and be loved for exactly who he is Mylo is a one-of-a-kind pup with a silly smile, a loyal heart, and so much love to give. He’s smart, affectionate, endlessly goofy, and ready to find a family who sees his magic. If you’re looking for a lovable sidekick who will keep you laughing, snuggling, and moving, Mylo might be the perfect match for you. ___ **Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ** Interested in applying to adopt him?
