Story
Meet Jolene 💛 Jolene is an almost 3-year-old purebred Australian Shepherd who is incredibly sweet with people and loves children. She is fully house-trained, affectionate, loyal, and a true joy to be around. Rehoming her is heartbreaking, but we are choosing safety and love for everyone involved. Jolene has developed territorial behaviors with other dogs in her space. This began in our backyard after exposure to aggressive neighbor dogs and has increased over time due to major life changes in our home. She does great with other dogs in neutral spaces like walks, parks, and dog parks — the issue is only in spaces she considers hers. She has never shown aggression toward humans. With young children and another large dog in our home, we are concerned about stress and safety. Jolene would truly thrive in a single-dog home where she can feel secure and be the center of attention. She is not a problem dog — just a wonderful dog who needs the right environment to thrive. 💛

Story
My name is Tessa, and I am a 9 year old pure-bred mini Australian Shepherd. I have been with one family for most of my life, but almost 2 years ago one of my humans passed away and my other one couldn't take care of me anymore. I have since been with my new family, but they have little children who make me really anxious and scared. I do best in a calm environment where I am the center of attention. Please no children, unless they are older (12 years +) and know how to be calm around me. I grew up with other pets, and can do well with other dogs, I just need to be slowly introduced. I do love cats and do great with them in the home. I am overall a really sweet girl, and will stick to you like glue once I get to know you! I take anxiety medication currently, and am on a special diet because I am overweight. I am up-to-date on all vaccines and will have a copy of my medical records upon adoption with me.

Story
"Meet Olive — a happy little Aussie who lives life with her whole heart. At around an year old, Olive is the perfect blend of exuberant energy and affectionate cuddle bug. She’ll happily zoom around the yard, bounce through a game of chase with her dog friends, and then settle right in next to you on the couch like she’s been yours forever. Olive truly loves people. She greets new friends with a wagging tail, a wiggly body, and the occasional face kiss. She enjoys other dogs and would love a home with a playful canine companion, though she can also do well with an active family ready to include her in daily life. She’s a smart girl (as many Aussies are!) and is already learning her manners. Olive does beautifully in a crate, is learning the art of the leash and enjoys walks, and is working on basics like sit. She’s eager to please and responds well to gentle guidance and positive reinforcement. She’s still mastering housetraining and will succeed in a home that can continue to provide safety and structure for her. This sweet tri-color girl is the kind of dog who brings joy wherever she goes — a playful shadow during the day and a cozy snuggle buddy at night. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal young dog to grow up alongside you, Olive may be your perfect match." Story
"Shade is single and ready to mingle. Truthfully, he cannot wait to be your shadow. He’s a lovable guy who wants to be wherever you are — leaning against you, across your lap, or lying on/near your feet. This sweet boy is smart and has brains to match his beauty. He is learning more every day that the world is not such a scary place. We suspect Shade might be an Australian Shepherd/Blue Lacy mix. He is very playful and eager to please. In just a week, Shade is already getting the hang of, “Sit,” “Drop,” “Crate,” “Wait,” “Get out,” which is a polite way for us humans to ask for some space, and is making good progress on his recall. Shade thinks toys, treats, people, dogs, walks and car rides are the BEST. If you’re looking for a cuddly companion who would love to work for you, Shade is might just be the guy for you." Story
Bernie is a sweet, high-energy boy who needs a family ready to give him lots of love and attention. He is a purebred Australian Shepherd with a temperament typical of the breed. He enjoys playing, going on walks, riding in the car, and solving puzzles. Bernie does experience significant separation anxiety, which can lead to destructive or reactive behaviors. He often follows his owners from room to room and prefers to nap as close to his people as possible. He is crate trained and knows the commands sit and come. Bernie attempts to play with our cats, though his play can be too rough. He has bitten a few guests in our home, which we believe is related to protective behavior. He currently spends much of the day in a crate due to our full-time work schedules and would do best with a family that can be home more often. Bernie is taking anxiety medication, and we are actively working with him to reduce his separation anxiety.

Story
Meet Hassan Breed: Husky / Kelpie Mix Sex: Male DOB: July 17, 2022 Weight: 66 pounds Health: Healthy and vaccinated Hassan is a striking, intelligent boy with soulful eyes and a strong, resilient heart. He was abandoned and rescued from a very busy roadway, where he was dangerously close to being hit by cars. Thankfully, he was saved in time — and now he’s ready for the safe, loving forever home he deserves. Despite his difficult beginning, Hassan has remained loyal, playful, and full of life. Personality Hassan lives peacefully with other dogs and enjoys being around humans. He loves going out for walks, running, and exploring the world around him. Playtime is one of his favorite things — especially chasing a ball or carrying around plush toys. When he first meets new people, Hassan can be a little reserved or cautious. But once he gets to know you, his personality softens beautifully, and he becomes affectionate and loyal. He just needs a little time to feel secure. Hassan does not like sharing his food, so he would do best in a home where feeding routines are managed thoughtfully and respectfully. Breed Info: Husky / Kelpie Mix This is a smart, athletic mix that typically brings: High intelligence and problem-solving ability Strong loyalty to their people Active energy that thrives with exercise A desire for engagement and purpose Hassan will do best in a home that enjoys walks, outdoor time, and mental stimulation. Owner Responsibilities Hassan will thrive with: Daily exercise (walks, running, play sessions) Continued positive reinforcement training Clear structure and consistency Managed feeding routines due to food guarding Patience while he builds trust with new people He is not difficult — he simply needs leadership, routine, and love. &#226&#154&#160&#239&#184&#143 Things to Consider Before Adopting Before bringing Hassan home, please consider: Do you have time for daily exercise and enrichment? Is your home and lifestyle stable long-term? Are pets allowed where you live? Can you provide structure and manage feeding separately if needed? Adoption is a lifelong commitment, especially for an active breed mix Hassan deserves a home that won’t give up on him. Vet Care Although Hassan is healthy and vaccinated, adopters should schedule a visit with their own veterinarian as soon as possible after adoption to establish care and continue his wellness routine. The 3-3-3 Rule First 3 days: Hassan may be cautious and observant as he adjusts. First 3 weeks: He’ll begin to learn your routine and feel secure. First 3 months: Trust deepens, and his loving, loyal personality truly shines. Patience and consistency will help him flourish. Why Hassan Is Special Hassan survived being abandoned and left in danger — yet he still chooses trust. He is playful, intelligent, and deeply loyal once he bonds. He deserves stability, safety, and someone who will show him that he is finally home for good. If you’re ready for an active, devoted companion who will stand by you with loyalty and heart, Hassan is waiting for you If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue. Story
Meet Arnold ! LIVING WITH A DOG TRAINER! He is a goofy, wiggly boy who’s often on the move. Despite that, he also loves to lounge and cuddle up in the house. We believe the is a shepherd/husky/herding dog mix. He has some herding dog tendencies, like gentle nipping at hands when he’s excited, but he’s quickly becoming more polite and respectful in the home. He also has the German shepherd loyalty! He would make a fantastic off leash hiking companion as he sticks very close by to his person and is non reactive. Exercise wise, Arnold needs 1-2 hours of activity a day. He loves to walk, run, play tug, play with other dogs, and explore new places! He currently is learning drop it, sit, and recall and doing very well. Arnold is shy with new people and tends to avoid/ignore at first but then he starts to show more of his personality. He is in a foster home with a dog trainer and is getting a lot of healthy socialization with dogs and humans. He is also working on his crate training and learning to be okay on his own. He loves to be pet and will melt for belly rubs! Arnold and Bria came from a hoarding situation in Texas, where there were 20 other dogs living in very difficult conditions. After being rescued, he had to fight hard at the start but today he’s healthy and ready for a forever home. All POSO Dogs come with: - Spayed/Netuered - Basic Shots (age appropriate) - Fecal and tick disease testing - other medical concerns addressed before adoption - 2 Free one on one dog training sessions with a professional dog trainer - Training received in foster home - Basic things like some food, treats, leash and collar - PDFs of training material and local coupons and dog sitter recommendations
