Story
Our family is looking for a loving home for our pup Timber. Timber is a loving 9 yo mini Aussie border collie. T is so affectionate, loves cuddles, loves running, walking, fetching, really anything outside. Timber does not like car rides, new things, and being on leash. Timber can be very anxious in new situations and takes some time and treats to be comfortable. Timber would do best in a home with older children (children who won’t grab his tail etc.) I’ve had Timber since he was a puppy and he is so smart. He learns new tricks so quickly and currently knows sit, lay down, up (stand on hind legs), bow, and spin. T gets along well with other dogs when he is off leash and he has great recall but when he is on leash he has leash reactivity. We’ve navigated this by always having high value treats to distract him when he is on leash. It is very hard for me to rehome T but I want him to have the best life possible and unfortunately my family can no longer give that to him.

Story
We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see a sweet young dog that needs our help. Scarlet is one of these dogs that deserves, due to her excellent temperament and all the love she'll bring to a family, to have a wonderful home filled with pure love and nurturing. Scarlet is the kind of dog that once comfortable in her environment snuggles in, loves you up and then puts her head on your shoulder breathing her warm breath. She's so sweet and so very loving and irresistible that you can't help falling head over heels in love. Scarlet is a gorgeous 36 pound, 1 year old Australian Shepherd / Australian Cattle Dog mix that is nothing but pure love. Scarlet's breeds were identified by Texas veterinarians...all we know for certain is that this sweet girl is irresistible! This pup is SO sweet and once acclimated to her new life, will make a wonderful addition to a dog-loving Colorado family. Scarlet's foster had the following to say about this sweet girl: * * * * "Scarlet is an absolute gem! She’s incredibly sweet, affectionate, and LOVES people—especially our kids -- 7 & 12 years old. She’s been friendly, playful, and super loving with them from the start. When Scarlet first arrived, she was a little unsure about our two resident dogs. But after a couple of days of settling in, everyone’s now getting along great -- they even cuddle! If she goes to a home with another dog, it will just take some time, as she doesn't love sharing her people with dogs inside the home, but her and our 2 like-sized dogs worked it out! Outside of the home, she’s been great with other dogs—she did really well at the shelter’s playgroups and doggy daycare before coming to Colorado. She’s a sweetheart who thrives with companionship and attention. Scarlet is such a lovely girl with so much love to give. We think she’d be happiest in a home where she can soak up lots of affection—especially from kiddos—and continue building on her amazing progress with other dogs. She’s truly a special pup!" * * * * Scarlet is a perfect size to be able to accompany her family just about everywhere a smaller dog is welcome. She will fit right into virtually every situation due to her great temperament and very sweet personality. Our dream for Scarlet is a forever Colorado home with a family that cherishes her for life. As Scarlet becomes comfortable in her forever home, she'll blossom and become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier her family is with her behavior, the more Scarlet will shine with her accomplishments. Farfel's would like to see our wonderful girl in a home that includes her in family time and activities (and some couch-time with belly rubs would be absolutely perfect!) as well as taking that extra step to participate in positive reinforcement / force free virtual or in-person obedience classes. These classes successfully teach a smart and cooperative dog like Scarlet the skills to accompany her family out into the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person force-free trainers in your area. Scarlet will be a loving and devoted companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a silly, fun-loving and irresistible dog. She would love to have another gentle and fun dog to play with but it's not mandatory if her people are nurturing and involved. Scarlet would also do well with a younger family that works from a home-based office. She would bask in the attention and periodic cuddles throughout the day that this life-style brings. Scarlet's stunning coat (with the most gorgeous markings ever!) is currently shelter-sad. She will require a lifelong commitment to periodic baths / brushing, excellent 5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement. This regimen will promote great health as well as a cottony-soft coat that is shining with excellent health. Scarlet has been fully vetted, spayed, and is up to date on her vaccinations. This supports Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. She has yet to be spayed however. Scarlet is available for adoption now. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and very loving best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-res. cue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Scarlet please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Peggy a very sweet girl, who loves nothing more than to play and be with you once she settles in! She is a bit shy at first but warms up fast and is full of cuddles, play and love once she gets to know you!!! She does great with other dogs in her foster home, is non reactive around cats, and is doing great with crate training. Since she is just a youngster still, she will need a family with lots of patience and willingness to work with puppy training to help him gain some confidence and skills needed to become the best canine citizen she can be!

Story
I adopted Elroy as a puppy in March 2020 and he’s been a terrific friend ever since. I never thought I’d ever give a dog up but my work has me out of the house sometimes 12 hours a day and traveling about twice a month. I’m just not able to be home enough and don’t feel it’s fair for him. Elroy is house trained and gets along with everyone and animals. He’s house trained, leash and off-leash trained. His only quirk is he’ll “kiss” you as long as you’ll let him. I say “no licking” though and he’ll stop immediately. Elroy loves long walks, sleeping under the bed, and cuddle time on the couch. His favorite snack is beef jerky but who can blame him. Elroy is up to date on his shots and neutered. I don’t mind holding on to him until I find the right new owner. Happy to include his leash, dog bed, food/water bowls, and dog food container.

Story
I took Griff from a friend who was moving and couldn’t bring him with. He is very loyal to and quite protective. His herding instinct causes him to bark a lot and try and herd other dogs and people. I also have a Golden Retriever and they play all day and get along great. He is a lover to me and always wants to be close and cuddle. His challenges are he is high energy and needs a lot of exercise to get him settled down. He also is food aggressive and has to be fed away from other dogs. He also is a counter surfer and will go after food in the open. He could really benefit from some good training and lots of space to run, or frequent runs / walks. He is a good boy and it pains me to give him up, but with some personal challenges I am going thorough I can’t care for him any more. Praying for a loving, patient owner to give him the life he deserves
