Story
Leo is a 10 week out Aussie mix weighing about 9lbs.  We are guessing he will be about 40-50lbs when full grown.  Leo and his 2 siblings are the only survivors after being dumped on the middle of no where.  Someone found Momma and the babies right when they were born and brought them to a shelter.  Unfortunately only 3 survived, but now they are happy, healthy, and ready to find their forever families.   Leo and his sister, Violet are both super adorable bundles of fluff and energy.  They show their aussie side with their happy, puppy energy.  They love to run around and play, play play.  They are incredibly smart and are learning quickly.  They have been with a wonderful foster who has done great with socializing and training them, so they are on their way to being the most amazing puppies.  Leo will need a home with an active family or a family who has another dog to play with.  Once he gets his energy out he is a super sweet, snuggly, loving pup, but he will absolutely need an outlet for his energy on a daily basis. If you are interested in adopting Leo or his sister Violet please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2116435##

Story
** If you are interested in Coconut, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** There's nothing like sweet puppy energy! Coconut is an adorable, wiggly, little guy! Coconut is believed to be an Australian Shepherd / Border Collie mix, however it is of course a bit harder for the vets to guess the breed when they are so young. At just 6 weeks old, this little guy was found with 2 other puppies on the streets of New Mexico. Coconut will be traveling to Colorado when he is 2 months (8 weeks) old, and coming to start a new life! Coconut is currently only 7 lbs (estimated to be about 40-50 lbs full grown). He is a perfect size to hike the Colorado trails and then at day's end, snuggle close all night long. Coconut is a happy, playful little pup. He has showed that he really enjoys humans and other dogs. We would prefer, however, to place her in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment with a puppy will create an adult dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development. Since Coconut is just a puppy, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. He will form firm bonds with his family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement puppy kindergarten followed by force-free level 1 Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a puppy's ultimate behavior and in their relationship/bonding with their people. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Coconut is up to date on his vaccines, but will still need a few more before it is safe for him to go out on public ground. Farfel's does not cover the cost of any additional vaccines once he goes home with a family, but we do cover the full cost of his neuter, which must be done by the time (or before) he turns 1 year old. Neuter is required by law to finalize any adoption. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com.

Story
Meet Little Bear! Little Bear is a sweet and loving three-year-old Australian Shepherd. He's only known life as a beloved family member. The only reason he's looking to find a new home is that his family recently had a baby. Bear rides great in the car, enjoys hikes and is doing super well hiking off leash in the mountains. He is housetrained and super loves training with his people. He is great with dogs and has no experience with cats. He would love to live a fun lifestyle. Little Bear has always lived in the mountains, but he regularly goes to daycare in Boulder and does well there. We don't think he would do well in a condo or apartment and are looking for more of a mountainish home for him (or Boulder where he could hike in the foothills regularly). We at SDR absolutely love this dog! He's a special soul, and his people want to set him up for continued happiness and success. A nominal adoption fee would be paid to his current guardians. For more info and/or to apply to adopt Little Bear, send us an email at summitdogrescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly.

Story
Please consider opening your heart and home to Happy. Please share!! This sweet boy is in a shelter in western Nebraska, and Summit Dog Rescue is stepping in to help find him some great adopters. He is special needs but he deserves a loving, devoted home. Happy is about 1-1/2 to 2 years old. He 's a Double Merle Aussie Shepherd, which through no fault of his own causes him to be deaf and blind. His special needs definitely do not deter anything for Happy. This young and spunky guy gives everything his all! He has a lot of energy and loves attention. He's sweet-tempered and nicely energetic. Due to his being deaf and blind he will need a very special home -- where his people cangive him a little extra attention to make sure he thrives to the best of his ability. He will need a lot of work with potty training and regular training, which will be a challenge for a dog who can't hear or see. Since he is a special case dog we will be on the search for the perfect home for him and won't quit till we find it. We don't know how he is with kitties, but he might be OK with a proper introduction and steps in the process to make it work. He's mostly housetrained and getting better with this every day. He's fine with other dogs who are friendly. If you know anyone who is willing to take on this mission of giving Happy the best life he can have please send them over!! You can send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. OR feel free to contact Panhandle Humane Society directly: https://panhandlehumanesociety.org/site/adopt/dogs Thank you.

Story
Hero is the hero we all need! Hero has come such a long way since entering his foster home.  He was very scared and unsure at first, but with some encouragement he has gained a lot of confidence. He is unsure with new people but warms up pretty well and is sure to be your velcro dog once he trusts you. He is a big lover like a teddy bear, he loves to cuddle.  Hero does great walking on a leash and loves to learn new things. He knows how to sit, stay and some oter basic commands, he is a smart boy! Hero is potty trained and crate trained! I have 2 small dogs of my own and he has gotten along with them well, he likes to tease them to get them to play with him and they chase eachother around. He loves to play with toys, tug-o-war is his favorite. He sleeps in his kennel at night like a little angel. Hero is the best boy!   ##1981545##

Story
Paisley is a sweet, cuddly little puppy with the coolest tiger markings.  She is a little braver than her sister and loves to snuggle up to her foster family for pets and patty-cake. She’s a little more reserved around her large doggy foster siblings but loves to wrestle and play with her sister.  Paisley has been working hard on her potty training and sleeping in the crate at night. Training should go well with the right treats. Paisley is a one of a kind pup that would make a great addition to the family. Come meet her this weekend!  ##1981540##

Story
Phoenix is a cool little dog. While it may take a little longer to win her over, it is well worth it once you do. She is a sweet little shadow who is learning to love pets and cuddles. She’s a little shy towards new people and situations, but is coming more out of her shell daily. She loves other dogs and will try to play with anyone that will let her. Phoenix is crazy smart! She learned the dog door on her own in 1 day! She’s working on her potty and crate training, which is going well with some good treats. Phoenix is going to be a great dog for someone who puts in a little time and training. Come meet her and her pretty hazel eyes Saturday!  ##1981539##

Story
Cooper! Cooper is a friendly, outgoing, 8-10 month old, Aussie mix that’s made his way to CO from a small, underfunded shelter in rural Texas. Despite his upbringing, Cooper is happy and playful and see the world with a glass half full. He’s dog friendly, sleeps quietly in his crate at night, and is hard at work on his house-training skills. This is his first time in a home, so he’s learning all the ropes. Coop will make a great addition to an Aussie enthusiast home that enjoys dogs with beauty and brains. Activity and playtime is a must for this friendly boy. Cooper is being fostered in Mead, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/cooper-2/. Story
Hi my name is Hazel and I am pretty shy, but with the help of my foster mom I am coming out of my shell. I like to go for walks, but in a calm and quiet area. I like cats... but like to chase them. So I should probably be in a house without them. I like other dogs, and being around a confident dog would probably help me gain my own self-confidence. Small kids would probably be too much for me, but older kids that can respect my need for a calm environment, would be just fine with me. Please someone just give me a chance. This animal is in a foster home. If you would like to meet this animal, go to www.souldog.org to fill out an adoption application. When submitting your adoption application make sure to submit a good clear picture of your living room, kitchen, and yard. If you rent, you must provide proof animals are allowed. We will contact references. Once the application is reviewed our adoptions coordinator will send your information to the foster to set up a meet and greet. We ask that all members of the household come for a meet and greet to ensure there are no personality clashes. If you have other dogs in the home and are meeting a dog you must bring them for the meet and greet. Filling out an adoption application does not mean you will be adopting the animal. Doing a meet and greet with one of our animals does not guarantee you are adopting the animal. We will select the family we feel is the best choice for that animal after screening and meeting applicants.

Story
I'm looking to rehome Solus to someone with more time/energy/space so he can enjoy himself as my life has changed where I can no longer provide for him. Looking for an experienced owner as he does need some training and work. He does have some anxiety and get aggressive/scared while meeting new people but once he warms up he'll always want to play. He needs to be the only animal in the house, preferably with a nice yard to run around and play in. On walks he does like to explore but you can pull him along, we've been working on walking "with me." He doesn't like people on bicycles so can't take him on walking paths or trails. He is house trained, and you can lock in him his kennel for a short while. When left alone at home he has never destroyed anything and just lays around waiting for you to return. I have Embrace pet insurance for him that can be transferred for behavioral training/meds. He knows sit, stay, lay down, and roll over. Ask anything you want to know.
