Story
Scout is a sweet as can be 9 month old, 30 lb Australian Shepherd (Aussie) mix who is just waiting to be the love of a special person's life. (He is expected to be around 35 lbs full grown). Scout is starting out with great energy. At just 9 months old, Scout's self esteem is growing every day as he learns that he's a very valuable pup that has so much to offer a dog-loving family. Scout is very sweet with people and a major cuddle bug. From Scout's foster: "Scout is SO sweet and friendly - we LOVE him!!! He is SUPER friendly and goes up to everyone we pass on walks to say hello! He cuddles with us at home and with his toys....it's so adorable! He isn't fully potty trained yet, but always poops outside! He sleeps in bed with me because he doesn't love being in the crate when he knows we are home, but if we leave the house he goes right into is crate and does well in it! But at night he likes to cuddle so he sleeps in bed with me. He is so cute and cuddly and friendly!" Scout is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his age. He's also very loving and cuddly once comfortable in his new environment. This snuggly little guy would be very excited to be a couch potato and snuggle with his favorite people at the end of an active day. it's clear that this pup is SO smart and very sweet. Since Scout is just a young guy, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome and loving best friend. Scout will form firm bonds with his family and learn socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement (force-free) Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a young dog's ultimate behavior and in his relationship / bonding with his people. It does take time and commitment, yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal virtual or in-person positive reinforcement / force-free training classes. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Scout out to a home that doesn't choose to offer him this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person positive reinforcement / force-free trainers in your area. Farfel's is open to Scout finding his forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart young dog. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a great choice for a pup that would love nothing more than getting loved up periodically throughout the day. Scout enjoys his relationships with all humans. We would prefer, however, to place him in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment by a young child will create a dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can also be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development. Scout will be up to date on his vetting / vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to support Farfel's commitment to a euthanasia - free future in the canine population. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet as can be pup. An adoption application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Scout, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Our beautiful Rhodi is the sweetest girl going, and she is looking for a special place to lay her head! Rhodi is about 40 pounds and is a fluffy girl. She is friendly and playful at times and is learning to feel safe in different environments. She has enjoyed getting to know the other dogs at the office and has been fine with cats in the home. She uses the crate, but does not love it, and is house trained and sleeping through the night. She walks well on the leash and is a pretty mellow dog right now, though we do expect that to change based on her breeds as she gains faith in people. She currently goes to work with her foster where she interacts with people and other dogs and then goes home and is the only dog. She is fine as an only dog, but would do well with another friendly dog as well and that would help her gain some more confidence. Rhodi does have some of that BC/Aussie vocalization and nervousness. Though she does not have an aggressive bone in her body and she was loved, she is learning to trust people again. She can be a little head shy and worried, but as long as you move slowly and she gets to know you, she will give kisses and does love to be pet. We would prefer Rhodi go to a home that is understanding of her need for calm environments with a confident dog owner. We would not have her around young children and we would want an owner who is around more than not. She is going to be a spectacular dog, but she needs a home where she can continue to decompress so that she can be the best dog ever moving forward. She deserves the best!

Story
Max was with another owner, and was going to be taken to a shelter. I took him in, he is a pretty anxious dog. He still acts skiddish toward me and I’ve had him for 2 years. He is very high energy and great with kids. I just do not have the time he deserves. He is not great with new dogs but once he gets used to them he does great. He has a 15 year old companion now that he does great with.

Story
About Luke Luke is a very loving, almost 4-year-old dog. I adopted him when he was 12 weeks old from a rescue that saved his mom and litter. He has been a wonderful part of our family ever since. Luke has lots of love and energy and would thrive with a family or individual who has the time to play with him and give him attention. He would do best in a home with a yard where he can run around and burn off his energy. He gets along great with both big and small dogs and has been wonderful with my one-year-old child, though like many energetic dogs he doesn’t always realize how big he is. Luke is house trained and crate trained, and his crate is his safe space. He loves attention, cuddles, and being around people. He has no medical issues. He does have a slightly sensitive stomach, so he does best on a low-fat gastrointestinal dog food that keeps his tummy happy. We are looking for a very loving and well-suited home where Luke will get the time, attention, and activity he deserves

Story
Meet Maya – A Spirited Sweetheart Looking for Her Forever Home! Name: Maya Breed: Australian Kelpie–Terrier Mix DOB: December 7, 2024 Weight: 30 pounds Spayed, Vaccinated, and Healthy About Maya: Maya is a beautiful, medium-sized girl with a bright mind and a playful heart. She’s active, friendly, and full of curiosity. Whether it’s chasing a ball, going for a walk, or exploring the backyard, Maya is always up for an adventure. She loves people and enjoys being part of the action—but when playtime is over, she’s happy to curl up near her favorite humans. Breed Info – Australian Kelpie x Terrier: Australian Kelpies are highly intelligent, loyal working dogs with strong herding instincts. Terriers are energetic, clever, and full of personality. As a mix, Maya is the perfect blend of smart and spirited. She’ll thrive in a home that can provide both physical activity and mental stimulation. Expect a dog who learns quickly, bonds deeply, and loves to stay busy. Owner Responsibilities: Provide daily exercise (walks, playtime, or training games) Offer basic obedience training and positive reinforcement Feed a healthy diet and maintain regular veterinary care Include Maya in family life—she’s not a dog to leave alone or chained outside Keep her mentally and physically active to prevent boredom Provide love, patience, structure, and a sense of safety Things to Consider Before Adopting Maya: Time & Energy: Maya needs more than a quick potty break. She’ll do best with a person or family who is active and engaged. Finances: Dogs require ongoing expenses (food, vet visits, flea/tick prevention, grooming, toys, etc.). Housing Rules: Make sure your landlord allows pets—especially medium-to-large breeds. Allergies: Check for pet allergies in the household. Lifelong Commitment: Maya could live 12–15+ years. She’s not a temporary guest—she’s family. No Outdoor Chains or Isolation: Maya needs interaction, exercise, and affection. Leaving her tied outside is not safe or fair to her well-being. Why Maya Will Be a Great Addition: Maya is intelligent, affectionate, and ready to love her people with her whole heart. She’s great for active individuals, couples, or families who want a smart, loyal companion to join them on walks, hikes, or playtime in the yard. Story
Meet Hassan Breed: Husky / Kelpie Mix Sex: Male DOB: July 17, 2022 Weight: 66 pounds Health: Healthy and vaccinated Hassan is a striking, intelligent boy with soulful eyes and a strong, resilient heart. He was abandoned and rescued from a very busy roadway, where he was dangerously close to being hit by cars. Thankfully, he was saved in time — and now he’s ready for the safe, loving forever home he deserves. Despite his difficult beginning, Hassan has remained loyal, playful, and full of life. Personality Hassan lives peacefully with other dogs and enjoys being around humans. He loves going out for walks, running, and exploring the world around him. Playtime is one of his favorite things — especially chasing a ball or carrying around plush toys. When he first meets new people, Hassan can be a little reserved or cautious. But once he gets to know you, his personality softens beautifully, and he becomes affectionate and loyal. He just needs a little time to feel secure. Hassan does not like sharing his food, so he would do best in a home where feeding routines are managed thoughtfully and respectfully. Breed Info: Husky / Kelpie Mix This is a smart, athletic mix that typically brings: High intelligence and problem-solving ability Strong loyalty to their people Active energy that thrives with exercise A desire for engagement and purpose Hassan will do best in a home that enjoys walks, outdoor time, and mental stimulation. Owner Responsibilities Hassan will thrive with: Daily exercise (walks, running, play sessions) Continued positive reinforcement training Clear structure and consistency Managed feeding routines due to food guarding Patience while he builds trust with new people He is not difficult — he simply needs leadership, routine, and love. &#226&#154&#160&#239&#184&#143 Things to Consider Before Adopting Before bringing Hassan home, please consider: Do you have time for daily exercise and enrichment? Is your home and lifestyle stable long-term? Are pets allowed where you live? Can you provide structure and manage feeding separately if needed? Adoption is a lifelong commitment, especially for an active breed mix Hassan deserves a home that won’t give up on him. Vet Care Although Hassan is healthy and vaccinated, adopters should schedule a visit with their own veterinarian as soon as possible after adoption to establish care and continue his wellness routine. The 3-3-3 Rule First 3 days: Hassan may be cautious and observant as he adjusts. First 3 weeks: He’ll begin to learn your routine and feel secure. First 3 months: Trust deepens, and his loving, loyal personality truly shines. Patience and consistency will help him flourish. Why Hassan Is Special Hassan survived being abandoned and left in danger — yet he still chooses trust. He is playful, intelligent, and deeply loyal once he bonds. He deserves stability, safety, and someone who will show him that he is finally home for good. If you’re ready for an active, devoted companion who will stand by you with loyalty and heart, Hassan is waiting for you If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue.
