Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Owner/Guardian Surrender/Owner Surrender from Espanola Humane in Santa Fe New Mexico , someone had dropped off Ralphie and his siblings at their home about 3 months ago and they've been caring for them and were able to rehome some of the litter. From the foster: Ralphie is a sweet, big-hearted 4-month-old puppy with a surprisingly mellow personality and a playful, curious spirit. He’s already potty trained, knows how to sit and is learning to be comfortable sleeping in his crate overnight. He really wants to be a good boy and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement. Fair warning: he may have a temporary foot fetish and loves to grab your feet as you walk by (we promise, he’ll grow out of it). Ralphie is fantastic with kids, incredibly patient with our 4-year-old, and does well with other dogs. He loves being outside and is shaping up to be the perfect mountain dog, always curious about the people and pups he passes on walks and ready for hikes or long strolls. He does cherish his secure, cozy spaces (especially a fluffy dog bed) and can be a little protective of them, but with that understanding, he’s a loving, gentle goofball who’s ready for his forever home. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Came from shelter in Guymon, OK. Was shot with buckshot and taken to the vet to have bullets removed, owner never came to pick her back up so she was brought to the shelter and ended up on the euthanasia list for being too high energy and due to the length of stay at the shelter. *Was perviously a working dog, needs a home that is very active or has a job for her.* From the foster: Hi! I’m Lola! Lo-Lo-Lo-Lo-Lola I’m a sensitive, highly intelligent working dog who’s learning that the world can be a safe and rewarding place. When we first meet, I might seem shy or cautious. New people, unfamiliar places, or sudden movements can make me want to take a step back. I do best when I’m given kindness, patience, consistency, and gentle guidance. Once I start to feel safe, I relax and let my true, silly personality shine! I love to be active. Going on walks, runs (even rollerblading beside you)and going to dog friendly stores; most anything you can do I can do too! I really enjoy problem-solving and having a “job” to do—it helps me feel confident and fulfilled. I may not be the kind of dog who offers instant affection—but if you’re willing to put in the time, I promise the reward is worth it. Watching me grow more confident and trusting is something truly special, and the bond we’ll build together will be deep and unbreakable! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
We adopted Jack when he was 3 months old. He is now 6 years old. He is full of energy and very vocal. He has been raised around kids but we recently had another baby and we feel that he deserves to have more attention and mental stimulation than we can give him. He loves a good chest and tummy rub and loves running and playing. He can be a bit wild around younger children.
