She is small, fast, loud when excited, and powered by what can only be described as unlimited puppy batteries. Cricket is a 9 to 10 week old Toy Fox Terrier Chihuahua mix who weighs just 4 pounds and came to us from the shelter. Four pounds. That is it. She is tiny, portable, and deceptively athletic. Blink and she is gone. Look down and she is suddenly at your feet. Look up and she is somehow on furniture she absolutely should not be able to reach. Cricket may be pocket sized, but she operates like she is training for the Puppy Olympics. Now for the good stuff, which is basically everything. Cricket is joyful chaos in the best possible way. She wakes up ready to seize the day and does not let up until bedtime around 9:30 p.m. She is confident, fearless, hilarious, and wildly affectionate. She is a Velcro puppy who will follow you everywhere, unless she is busy playing, chewing, plotting her next great adventure, or sneaking off for a power nap. She loves people, loves dogs, loves toys, and loves life like every day is the greatest thing that has ever happened. Cricket’s daily routine starts around 7:00 a.m. when she wakes up ready to party. She eats breakfast, lunch around noon, and dinner around 7:00 p.m. Cricket has strong opinions about food presentation. She does not eat kibble from a bowl, but will happily eat it if it is placed on the floor. We are slowly transitioning her to wet canned food mixed with boiled chicken and rice, and she is adjusting well with the goal of switching fully to canned food. Between meals, her day consists of playing hard, wrestling with dogs, chewing toys, hiding chews in secret locations, napping when she feels like it, and then immediately waking up ready to go again. Cricket lives with two older dogs, Jackie and Jasper. Jackie has fully embraced her role as Cricket’s mentor and wrestling partner. They tumble, play rough, and wrestle like professionals, and Cricket keeps up with complete confidence. Watching them together is endlessly entertaining. Cricket wants to play with every dog she meets. If a dog does not respond, she gives it a few tries and then politely moves on, as seen with Jasper. She is playful without being pushy and confident without being obnoxious, which is honestly impressive for someone this young. Cricket has not gone on formal walks yet, but she does bark playfully at one of the older dogs when trying to initiate play. If there is no response, she walks away and finds something else to do. She is doing very well with pee pads and reliably finds one when she needs to go. She potties as soon as she wakes up and again before bedtime. At night, she sleeps comfortably in her crate. Like most puppies, Cricket will chew when bored, which is why toys are always within reach. If she runs out of appropriate options, she may attempt to sample something else, but redirection works well. She is not a digger, rarely barks at visitors, and greets guests with kisses because obviously they are new best friends. She may bark briefly to get attention, but otherwise she is focused on fun. The ideal home for Cricket would be an active household with kids or adults who enjoy engagement, play, and laughter. Another playful dog would be a huge bonus, as she thrives with canine companions who can keep up with her energy and enthusiasm. And just in case you think her size limits her abilities, here is a fun fact. Cricket has successfully climbed a two and a half foot cage and escaped. Twice. There is no photo evidence because she is both fast and sneaky, so you will just have to trust us. Tiny body. Big dreams. Elite escape artist. Cricket is truly special. She is smart, joyful, confident, and lives every single day like it is the best day of her life. She lights up the house the moment she wakes up and keeps it buzzing with happiness until bedtime. If you are ready for a tiny dog with a huge personality and nonstop entertainment value, Cricket is ready to bounce straight into your heart. February 12, 2026, 1:22 am

Story
Update 1/3/26: Phoebe was doing great at her foster to adoption home but due to guardian's sudden medical needs Phoebe now needs a new foster home. So sad for Phoebe. She was fine with her mom's dog. Best as only dog or at times correct or keep sep as needed. They adored her. At home she is cuddly affectionate enjoys her walks and loves food especially chicken. ----------------------------------------------------------- Poor Phoebe was at the shelter for about 2 months and her time was up there. She was nervous and scared in their shelter cages of all the loud barking dogs and noises. Once out in the office she relaxed and seeked cuddling from staff lady. Very sweet and gentle. Tested fine with other shelter dogs. She did fine with our transporter and vet office. Cuddled with our volunteer transporter. At her foster home she first hid but her foster home walked in she ran out of hiding into her arms. She is now very happy and feels safe. Princess Phoebe. So cute. More info. and photos to come as she relaxes at her foster home with 3 other dogs. She is good with select dogs that are larger then her but may guard person later. Need training and correction and she will listen to person. 5/3/25 update from Foster Home: 1 week. Phoebe is affectionate and sweet at their home. Now that she is relaxed she is bolder and wil guard her food bowl or chew and person to foster home's other 3 dogs especially their female bull dog (will attack her) but fine with 5 lbs female chi and large dog. Need to feed in sep area and train her to wait her turn. Must learn to wait for her food or she may try to grab person's food. She enjoys walks and cuddly sweet with person. She does fine hanging out with their male dobie and napping on sofa with him. Phoebe needs to be the only dog in home or fine with larger male or female dog. With her personality need experienced adult home. Older kids are fine. She has learned to go out to yard for potty biz. After 1 1/2 weeks she is now friendly with men and men friends that visited. Seeks attention. Now almost leash trained. With our volunteer walker she was great with her large shep mix female dog for walks and day care at her home. Loves people attention. Donations needed for Phoebe's emergency boarding fee: $3000January 5, 2026, 1:03 pm

Story
Chevy is a 9 year old Chihuahua mix. She is an active dog that loves to go on walks and hikes. She gets along with cats and dogs, except those who are high-energy. She is afraid of kids. She is known to have a pinched nerve where she has uncontrollable spasms. It is not necessary to medicate and I usually just wait for it pass. Sometimes, an episode causes her to vomit but shes usually back to normal within a few minutes. I want to find an active home that will let her burn her energy off. Unfortunately, Im a full time student and professional, so I cant give her the time that she needs and deserves. Im also looking for someone who preferably does not reside in an apartment with direct neighbors. Chevy can be sensitive to sounds.
