She is small, fast, loud when excited, and powered by what can only be described as unlimited puppy batteries. Cricket is a 9 to 10 week old Toy Fox Terrier Chihuahua mix who weighs just 4 pounds and came to us from the shelter. Four pounds. That is it. She is tiny, portable, and deceptively athletic. Blink and she is gone. Look down and she is suddenly at your feet. Look up and she is somehow on furniture she absolutely should not be able to reach. Cricket may be pocket sized, but she operates like she is training for the Puppy Olympics. Now for the good stuff, which is basically everything. Cricket is joyful chaos in the best possible way. She wakes up ready to seize the day and does not let up until bedtime around 9:30 p.m. She is confident, fearless, hilarious, and wildly affectionate. She is a Velcro puppy who will follow you everywhere, unless she is busy playing, chewing, plotting her next great adventure, or sneaking off for a power nap. She loves people, loves dogs, loves toys, and loves life like every day is the greatest thing that has ever happened. Cricket’s daily routine starts around 7:00 a.m. when she wakes up ready to party. She eats breakfast, lunch around noon, and dinner around 7:00 p.m. Cricket has strong opinions about food presentation. She does not eat kibble from a bowl, but will happily eat it if it is placed on the floor. We are slowly transitioning her to wet canned food mixed with boiled chicken and rice, and she is adjusting well with the goal of switching fully to canned food. Between meals, her day consists of playing hard, wrestling with dogs, chewing toys, hiding chews in secret locations, napping when she feels like it, and then immediately waking up ready to go again. Cricket lives with two older dogs, Jackie and Jasper. Jackie has fully embraced her role as Cricket’s mentor and wrestling partner. They tumble, play rough, and wrestle like professionals, and Cricket keeps up with complete confidence. Watching them together is endlessly entertaining. Cricket wants to play with every dog she meets. If a dog does not respond, she gives it a few tries and then politely moves on, as seen with Jasper. She is playful without being pushy and confident without being obnoxious, which is honestly impressive for someone this young. Cricket has not gone on formal walks yet, but she does bark playfully at one of the older dogs when trying to initiate play. If there is no response, she walks away and finds something else to do. She is doing very well with pee pads and reliably finds one when she needs to go. She potties as soon as she wakes up and again before bedtime. At night, she sleeps comfortably in her crate. Like most puppies, Cricket will chew when bored, which is why toys are always within reach. If she runs out of appropriate options, she may attempt to sample something else, but redirection works well. She is not a digger, rarely barks at visitors, and greets guests with kisses because obviously they are new best friends. She may bark briefly to get attention, but otherwise she is focused on fun. The ideal home for Cricket would be an active household with kids or adults who enjoy engagement, play, and laughter. Another playful dog would be a huge bonus, as she thrives with canine companions who can keep up with her energy and enthusiasm. And just in case you think her size limits her abilities, here is a fun fact. Cricket has successfully climbed a two and a half foot cage and escaped. Twice. There is no photo evidence because she is both fast and sneaky, so you will just have to trust us. Tiny body. Big dreams. Elite escape artist. Cricket is truly special. She is smart, joyful, confident, and lives every single day like it is the best day of her life. She lights up the house the moment she wakes up and keeps it buzzing with happiness until bedtime. If you are ready for a tiny dog with a huge personality and nonstop entertainment value, Cricket is ready to bounce straight into your heart. January 31, 2026, 10:03 pm

Story
Age: Around 9 years old Weight: 11 Pounds I've had Lulu since middle school and he has been such a fun and loving part of my life. I'm moving away for college soon and there is no one at home who can give him the time and care he deserves. I'm hoping to find Lulu a wonderful home where he will have space to play and people who will love him. Lulu is energetic, friendly, and super playful. He loves being around people and always brings good energy wherever he goes. He is also very close with my other dog Nunu, and they have grown up together as great companions. It would be great if they could be adopted together, but Lulu will do just fine on his own too as long as he is loved and cared for.

Story
I'm reaching out to see if you may be able to help with placement for a sweet senior dog in San Jose. Buddy is a 10-year-old Chihuahua mix, small-sized, and well cared for. His owner is no longer able to care for him due to personal circumstances and is hoping to find a rescue or foster-based placement rather than surrendering him directly to a shelter. Buddy is: Small breed (Chihuahua mix) Approximately 10 years old Calm, gentle, and manageable Comfortable in a home environment Located in San Jose, CA We can provide photos, additional background, and help coordinate a smooth transition. If you’re unable to take him in directly, we would be grateful for any referrals or guidance. Thank you so much for the work you do and for any consideration you can offer. Warm regards, J

Story
Hi my name is Lola. I am a super sweet pup that loves to go for walks, snuggle under blankets and sleep on pillows. I loves treats but am not a fan of car rides though I get used to it for rides longer than 20 min. While I’m sweet and snuggly I can be protective and will bark at people I don’t know though if they give me a treat I’ll consider tolerating them. I’m in good health for being 12 years old. I still get the zoomies and love eating. From my human: I love her to pieces but she deserves a quiet home without the stress of a baby. She has never bitten anyone but she gets stressed and snappy when around the baby and I don’t want an incident. Lola’s ideal home would be in a quiet home with no other dogs or cats, no young children and with someone who will take her for short walks everyday and snuggle in bed with her. She will go to her new home with a ramp to get up and down from the bed, treats, and the flea and tick medication she uses.
