To be considered for adoption, please submit an application in advance. Adoption Fee: $700This is Cricket, and yes, the name fits. She is small, fast, loud when excited, and powered by what can only be described as unlimited puppy batteries. Cricket is a 9 to 10 week old Toy Fox Terrier Chihuahua mix who weighs just 4 pounds and came to us from the shelter. Four pounds. That is it. She is tiny, portable, and deceptively athletic. Blink and she is gone. Look down and she is suddenly at your feet. Look up and she is somehow on furniture she absolutely should not be able to reach. Cricket may be pocket sized, but she operates like she is training for the Puppy Olympics. Now for the good stuff, which is basically everything. Cricket is joyful chaos in the best possible way. She wakes up ready to seize the day and does not let up until bedtime around 9:30 p.m. She is confident, fearless, hilarious, and wildly affectionate. She is a Velcro puppy who will follow you everywhere, unless she is busy playing, chewing, plotting her next great adventure, or sneaking off for a power nap. She loves people, loves dogs, loves toys, and loves life like every day is the greatest thing that has ever happened. Cricket’s daily routine starts around 7:00 a.m. when she wakes up ready to party. She eats breakfast, lunch around noon, and dinner around 7:00 p.m. Cricket has strong opinions about food presentation. She does not eat kibble from a bowl, but will happily eat it if it is placed on the floor. We are slowly transitioning her to wet canned food mixed with boiled chicken and rice, and she is adjusting well with the goal of switching fully to canned food. Between meals, her day consists of playing hard, wrestling with dogs, chewing toys, hiding chews in secret locations, napping when she feels like it, and then immediately waking up ready to go again. Cricket lives with two older dogs, Jackie and Jasper. Jackie has fully embraced her role as Cricket’s mentor and wrestling partner. They tumble, play rough, and wrestle like professionals, and Cricket keeps up with complete confidence. Watching them together is endlessly entertaining. Cricket wants to play with every dog she meets. If a dog does not respond, she gives it a few tries and then politely moves on, as seen with Jasper. She is playful without being pushy and confident without being obnoxious, which is honestly impressive for someone this young. Cricket has not gone on formal walks yet, but she does bark playfully at one of the older dogs when trying to initiate play. If there is no response, she walks away and finds something else to do. She is doing very well with pee pads and reliably finds one when she needs to go. She potties as soon as she wakes up and again before bedtime. At night, she sleeps comfortably in her crate. Like most puppies, Cricket will chew when bored, which is why toys are always within reach. If she runs out of appropriate options, she may attempt to sample something else, but redirection works well. She is not a digger, rarely barks at visitors, and greets guests with kisses because obviously they are new best friends. She may bark briefly to get attention, but otherwise she is focused on fun. The ideal home for Cricket would be an active household with kids or adults who enjoy engagement, play, and laughter. Another playful dog would be a huge bonus, as she thrives with canine companions who can keep up with her energy and enthusiasm. And just in case you think her size limits her abilities, here is a fun fact. Cricket has successfully climbed a two and a half foot cage and escaped. Twice. There is no photo evidence because she is both fast and sneaky, so you will just have to trust us. Tiny body. Big dreams. Elite escape artist. Cricket is truly special. She is smart, joyful, confident, and lives every single day like it is the best day of her life. She lights up the house the moment she wakes up and keeps it buzzing with happiness until bedtime. If you are ready for a tiny dog with a huge personality and nonstop entertainment value, Cricket is ready to bounce straight into your heart. February 8, 2026, 1:25 am

&#226&#156&#168 Meet Birdie & Minnie — A Magical Bonded Duo &#226&#156&#168 Palo Alto, CA • Northern CA Adoption Only • Must Be Adopted Together Birdie and Minnie are a tiny, enchanting team who prove that love, trust, and joy don’t require sight. These two beautiful girls are blind, but once they feel safe in their space, you’d never know it. They learn their surroundings quickly, explore with confidence, and will happily follow their foster parents around the house and yard like the sweetest little parade. They’re world&#226&#128&#145class snugglers, generous with kisses, and absolutely devoted to their humans. Meet the Girls Birdie ~5 years old 9 lbs Possibly a Chihuahua/Spaniel mix (but who really knows!) The steady leader of the pair — Minnie’s guide, comfort, and maybe even her mom Minnie ~2 years old 5.5 lbs Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix with a gloriously fluffy coat that makes her look bigger than she is The tiny shadow who follows Birdie’s lead with total trust Both girls are spayed, had dentals just last week, and have been evaluated by an eye specialist at Sage, who believes they’ve been blind since birth.   A Bond Like No Other Birdie and Minnie are inseparable. They play together, sleep curled up together, and even share a food bowl. If Birdie does it, Minnie is right behind her. Their connection is deep, comforting, and absolutely heart&#226&#128&#145melting.   What They Need Because they are blind, Birdie and Minnie can startle at new sounds and need time to adjust to unfamiliar environments. They thrive with gentle voices, predictable routines, and a safe setup. It is ideal for blind dogs to have a patient sighted dog in the home. We'd love for the future home to have a gentle sighted dog. A few things their future family should be ready for: Baby gates for any stairs A protected, consistent home layout A cozy safe space (we can provide a pen) Patience as they map out their new world Experience with visually impaired dogs is preferred but not required — their foster family will guide you through everything you need to know.    Meet&#226&#128&#145and&#226&#128&#145Greets Birdie and Minnie are currently in Palo Alto, and all meet&#226&#128&#145and&#226&#128&#145greets will take place in their foster home where they feel secure and confident. These girls are pure sweetness, resilience, and devotion wrapped in two tiny, fluffy packages. If you’re ready to open your heart to a bonded pair who will love you endlessly, Birdie and Minnie are waiting. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for BIRDIE AND MINNIE is $6 00.
