Gingerbread is a gentle hound mix who has been learning that the world can be a safe and kind place. She can be shy with new people at first, but with patience and consistency, her confidence is steadily growing and she is blossoming beautifully. Watching her take those small steps forward is incredibly rewarding. She is currently still a little nervous on a leash, but Gingerbread is being very brave and working through it beautifully. She does best when given a gentle push to help her realize she’s capable of more than she thinks. Gingerbread will do best in a home with another dog to help her overall confidence and a patient, understanding adopter who is willing to encourage her growth. A quieter, rural or country setting would suit her best right now. Once she feels safe, her personality shines through. Gingerbread is silly, loving, playful and affectionate, and she forms deep bonds with her people. In true hound fashion, she is a foodie, expert snuggler and easily distracted at times.   If you are looking for a loyal outdoor companion with a heart of gold, say hello to Kahlua—an 8-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who defines “good ole’ boy” in the best possible way. Around 60 pounds of love and sweetness, Kahlua lives for sunshine, breezes, rustling leaves, and long, thoughtful walks. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t rush through life—he notices everything, appreciates the little things, and reminds you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Kahlua has impeccable manners. Need to tie your shoe? He’ll stop and wait. Collar slips off? He’ll walk right over so you can fix it. He listens beautifully and truly wants to please his person. He also has a fun side—he loves squeaky toys, playing fetch (sharing the ball is a work in progress!), giving kisses, and being tucked in under cozy blankets like the pampered hound he is.  This boy is also a lake and boat enthusiast—a true water bug who will happily join you for every lakeside adventure. He grew up with other dogs and prefers being the “big guy,” doing well with respectful smaller dogs or calmer companions. Solo walks? He’s relaxed and steady. With bigger, energetic dogs? He may pull a bit in excitement. Kahlua loves kids who treat him kindly and is friendly toward cats, even though he didn’t share a home with them before. Lady is being fostered in TX. HI! I am delighted that you are interested in knowing more about me! I am about 3 months old*. My absolute passions are EAT, MOVE and Cuddle! In fact, among my many super pawers is my super sense of smell, so I became highly excited when smelling delicious foods around me! My foster mamma and I are working hard to learn how to harness this super power! My second super power is my high level of energy and my strong curiosity, I guess that makes three super powers, isn’ it? If you don’t give me a job to do, I will find it on my own! So it is very important for me that you become my guiding light. Yet, I also want you to be soft and cuddle with me in quiet times, since I actively look for bonding, reassurance, and safety. I am good with kiddos, but I will prefer kiddos 6+ since I - for now - get excited and might scratch them by accident. Also, I highly benefit from tolerant and playful siblings who can help me balance when the puppyhood zoomies come! Did I tell you that I am already potty trained? YUP!!! I am proudly potty trained. Regarding my eyes, I have Microphthalmia which “is a congenital condition where one or both eyeballs are abnormally small” on my right eye. My foster momma is seeing a little cloudiness on my left eye*, so I am going to visit an eye specialist in mid August. However, I have not presented any issue navigating the house, jumping the stairs, or avoiding any obstacles in the backyard. I am sure my foster momma will update any relevant info after our appointment. Are you ready to love me? * By the time of this writing on July 2nd. BDRA has voted against the use of eletrical fencing effective immediately.

                                                                             KENNEL ID #18804 Meet Sweet Amber &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Amber came heartbreakingly close to losing her life at a high-kill animal control facility in Greeneville, TN. She was picked up as a stray with her puppy, and while her baby was adopted, Amber was sadly left behind and scheduled for euthanasia. Thankfully, A Voice for Pets Rescue learned of her situation and stepped in just in time—rescuing her on the very day she was set to be euthanized. Since then, Amber has proven to be an absolute gem. She gets along beautifully with other dogs of all sizes, is 100% crate-trained and house-broken, and is as sweet as they come. She also walks nicely on leash (with a little “power-steering” assist ). Amber is approximately 5 years old and fully vetted—spayed, heartworm-negative, dental, and up to date on all vaccinations. She looks like a Beagle/Boxer mix and is the perfect medium size at about 30–35 pounds Her foster admits she’s getting very attached (who wouldn’t?), because Amber truly is the perfect dog. Now all that’s missing is the forever home she so deeply deserves.
