For nine years, Pepper was someone’s dog. He knew his person. He knew his home. He knew where he belonged. He knows his commands and will even sit pretty for a treat. And like any true hound, he believes every blade of grass deserves a thorough investigation. 🐾👃 But what Pepper really wants is so much simpler. He wants a soft place to lay his old hound bones. He wants to sniff in a yard again. He wants to be someone’s dog again. He wants a person to love him—and to know that he is loved. He doesn't like to be crated or too fond of a leash. Experience with the breed would be useful. Maybe Pepper doesn't have ten years ahead of him. Maybe he has fewer. Hi - My name is Stewart.I LOVE: being with my people, going for walks, riding in the car, and settling in for plenty of cuddles and pets. I weigh about 70 pounds, but I see absolutely no reason that should disqualify me from being a lap dog.I KNOW: my house manners! I’m potty trained, crate trained, and ride great in the car. Give me some exercise and a chance to explore, and I’m also pretty happy to spend a good part of the day snoozing.IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE: sweet, affectionate, and ready to join you for a walk before cuddling up at home, I could be your guy. I’m a hound, so my nose has a pretty important job! I love following interesting scents and can pull pretty hard when something like a squirrel or deer catches my attention, but I can usually be redirected without too much trouble.I AM SPECIAL BECAUSE: I’m a 5-year-old sweetheart who genuinely loves being around people. I’m affectionate, cuddly, and already have some great skills for living in a home. I may be a big boy, but as far as I’m concerned, there’s always room for 70 pounds of Stewart in your lap.

I`m a hound so I want to sniff everything, that`s what that big nose is for.I KNOW: I`m a little shy at first but I just need a moment to know you are a friend. I am also a good walker but I like to start at a slow pace. The volunteers say I am well behaved and easy to handle. IF YOU`RE LOOKING FOR: a social girl that likes other dogs, I`m the one for you. If you have a resident dog at home, please bring them to the shelter to see if we are a good match. I AM SPECIAL BECAUSE: I`m officially off mama duty and ready for me to be someone`s baby. Meet Cici, Eumy’s tiny little sister and the smallest of all 12 siblings. At 2 months old, she weighs just 2.5 lbs — but this teeny girl has an enormous amount of love to give. Cici and her 11 siblings were found tucked into the rocks of a beach in Puerto Rico, trapped inside a little beach cave with the tide coming in. Rescuers climbed down into the rocks and pulled the babies out one by one before the water could reach them. Cici was the littlest of them all. And this girl is an absolute human lover. Cici loves, loves, LOVES people and would happily spend her entire day being carried around in someone’s arms. She is incredibly sweet, cuddly, affectionate, and just wants to be as close to her humans as physically possible. If there is an available lap, Cici plans on being in it. Based on her size now, our vet’s best guess is that Cici will stay under 25 lbs fully grown, but with rescue puppies, adult size is always a bit of a mystery! Cici is currently in Puerto Rico and is already on the docket to head stateside to a foster home — unless her forever family finds her first! Cici was almost washed away before her life had even begun. Now all this tiny girl wants is exactly what she loves most: a human to hold her close and never let her go.
