Story
Meet Popper! 🖤🤍🐾Popper is a 10-month-old Beagle mix with big ears, a quirky personality, and an even bigger heart! If you’re looking for a dog who can keep you laughing, join you for some playtime, and then happily crawl into your lap for cuddles, Popper may be your guy!His foster family describes him in three words: funny, cuddly, and sweet. And honestly, they couldn't have picked better words.❤️ Popper's PersonalityPopper is an easygoing, affectionate boy who has mastered the art of knowing when his people need a little snuggle time—and when they might need some personal space. He loves to jump right into your arms (and for a little guy, he has some impressive hops!), curl up next to you, and enjoy endless belly and booty rubs. He's also perfectly happy to get up and run some laps around the yard, chase his foster siblings, or settle down with one of his favorite chew toys. And those big Beagle ears and quirky personality? They're guaranteed to make you smile!🧸 Playtime & Favorite ThingsPopper is still very much a puppy and loves to have fun.His favorite things include:🧸 Bullymake toys🦴 Benebones🐾 Chasing his foster siblings around the yard💨 Running and playing❤️ Snuggling with his people💤 Taking a good nap🛏️ Sleeping in his foster family's bed🐶 Being part of the actionHe's a medium-energy pup who enjoys activity but is equally happy relaxing afterward.Popper is a little bit of everything: playful when it's time to play, and a total cuddle bug when it's time to relax.🏡 Life With PopperPopper has a predictable daily routine and does well with structure. His mornings start with a potty break and breakfast, followed by play and activity throughout the day. He enjoys afternoon runs and playtime, has dinner around 7:30, and is usually ready to settle down for bed around 8:30–9:00.He would love a family who will give him opportunities to play, explore, get daily exercise, and then relax together at home.🐶 Other Dogs & Leash MannersPopper gets along wonderfully with the dogs in his foster home. He loves playing with his foster siblings and is very comfortable sharing his home with other dogs. When he's out and about, though, Popper is still learning his leash manners. Seeing unfamiliar dogs while on walks can be exciting for him, and he may react by becoming reactive. He'll need an adopter who is willing to continue working with him using patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. With the right guidance and continued practice, Popper can keep building confidence and becoming a better walking buddy.Because he can be selective with unfamiliar dogs, slow, thoughtful introductions are important. He could be happy as the only dog in the home or potentially live with another dog with the right introduction and personality match.👧 KidsPopper has interacted with children as young as 3 years old.As with any young dog, children should be taught to respect his space and interact with him appropriately, especially when he's resting or enjoying his crate.🎓 TrainingPopper is still a young dog and will benefit from continued training and consistency. He's crate trained and potty trained, although he can occasionally have an accident if he's left alone for too long.He has no food, treat, toy, or people resource guarding.⚡ Energy LevelPopper has a medium energy level. He's active enough to enjoy running, playing, and daily activity, but he's also perfectly happy to be a couch potato afterward. His ideal day might look something like:Play → zoomies → toys → snacks → cuddles → nap → repeat. ❤️💕 Why Popper?Popper is one of those dogs who makes you smile just by being himself. He's goofy, affectionate, playful, and incredibly sweet. He can entertain himself with his favorite toys, run around the yard with his foster siblings, and then somehow turn right back into the world's biggest cuddle bug.He knows how to enjoy life, and he really loves his people.Popper isn't looking for a perfect family—he's looking for his family. Someone who will appreciate his funny personality, give him plenty of love and activity, and be patient as he continues learning how to navigate the world around him.If you're looking for a sweet, funny, cuddly young Beagle mix with big ears and an even bigger personality, Popper is ready to meet you! 🖤🤍🐾https://www.woofanimalrescue.org/adoptThis dog is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue.
