Disclaimer: This animal is not in Anderson custody. and is a courtesy post to help a member of the community rehome directly without shelter intervention. Any adoption inquiries should be directed to the owner at hubbhan@gmail.com and/or (815) 535-6536. Anderson Humane makes no guarantees regarding medical or behavioral status of this animal, and the current owner is solely responsible for disclosing any challenges or concerns. If you’re looking for a loving hound dog, please apply! Brandi is a sweet girl who’s had a rough go of it so far. She was picked up by animal control after being dropped off on a country road. She was heartworm positive at the time and has since tested negative as of 11/26! We had a dog prior to adopting Brandi and after a month they no longer tolerated each other. Our original dog bullied her by pushing her around and taking her toys, eventually Brandi started responding by growling and baring her teeth. Brandi has never had this reaction around any other dog, she and our original dog specifically have just built an unhealthy relationship. Needless to say, Brandi will need to be the only dog in the household. We do not know how she would do with cats or children as she hasn’t been exposed to any since living with us. Brandi is a wonderful companion who loves snuggling, but is also very energetic and enjoys hikes/long walks. She makes very silly faces (as pictured) and makes us laugh every day! We’re heartbroken to be re-homing Brandi and want to find her a home where she’ll feel confident and comfortable. She will come with her large kennel, new blankets for bedding, food, treats, and her favorite chew toys. We want to do everything possible to make this transition as smooth as possible for her so that she can thrive. We’re located in Oregon, IL and are willing to travel to you, however we do request we see your home and that you provide vet references if possible as we want to ensure she’s going to a safe place. Brandi is scheduled to be spayed on January 8 th and will be ready for her new home the following week. Depending on distance we may be able to set up a meet and greet prior to then. If you think you’ve found your new best friend please email hubbhan@gmail.com to request an application and I will get back to you shortly.

Story
Willa and Watson (siblings) came from the Brookhaven pound. We saw them on Face Book. The Brookhaven pound was going to put these puppies down because they were so shy. They couldn’t find a rescue group to take them. We decided to help them. They are super sweet, but they are very shy. Walter is not as shy as Willa. They feel very comfortable in their environment, but when taken to the vet, they do get nervous. They do respond to love, but they need somebody that will spend time with them. Because we are so overcrowded, they have never had an opportunity to live in the house. They were heavily bonded at the foster’s house, and they loved to play together. The foster did not spend any time with them, but the children played with them some in the fenced in area. They play well with other dogs, but they have never been around cats. Since they have been at Blue Ribbon Kennels, they have been in separate kennels for the past 13 months. They both need a special home with somebody that will spend a lot of time loving them, giving them a lot of attention and being patient with them. Please help Watson, and maybe even consider adopting both of them! Willa and Watson are in Mississippi. Rescue Rides is a very reliable pet transport and will transport Watson to his new home. This is included in the adoption fee.

Meet Luna: The Goofy Outdoor Enthusiast! Luna is a vibrant, energetic gal who's always ready for adventure! Her happiest moments are spent outdoors, where she can sniff every scent, hike new trails, roll around in the grass, and sprint across the yard with a huge smile on her face. She's got a zest for life that's truly infectious! Luna is looking for a home where she can be the queen of the house, meaning she prefers to be the only animal. However, once she's settled, she has the potential to make a few dog friends. Luna's got her basic cues down and is house-trained, but she's still working on her leash skills. That's why a fenced-in backyard would be perfect for this lively girl to run and play to her heart's content. If you're ready for endless outdoor fun and a little goofiness in your life, Luna is waiting to join your family! Luna is an All-Star dog! Her adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and she will go home with her very own no pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get her off to a good start! To schedule an appointment to meet Luna, email info@ahconnects.org (please include your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to help you! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians. Ask fosters@ahconnects.org about fostering Luna, while she waits for her forever home!

Story
Hope - Female. 3 years old Beagle/Hound (BREED IS BEST GUESS ONLY) Current Weight 28 pounds Date of Birth 7/1/21 Meet Hope. This sweet beautiful girl was left abandoned at the gate of the shelter in Alabama. She sat there and waited for someone/anyone to rescue her. Thank goodness help arrived by the amazing people at the shelter and took her in. Upon arrival it was quick to notice she had “something” going on with her mouth and eye, and though no rescues can really afford expensive medical conditions we just knew we could not leave her there. A wonderful person stepped up and we got her to Illinois. She immediately went to our vet here where it was determined that yes this poor girl had been through some trauma (either human or vehicle there was no way of knowing) and her diagnosis was 2 horrifically cracked teeth in the back of her mouth along with eye damage. After a pressure test was done it was determined this poor girls eye had so much pressure it’s like living with a constant migraine and it was recommended that it be removed. Hope’s surgery went very well and she’s now fully healed. Though she may only have one eye (this does not take away from her cuteness or personality) she’s still the most loving animal and is now pain free ready to find her forever family. Here’s what her foster mom said about her…. Hello, my name is Hope. My foster told me I'm a good girl and very sweet. I also like to snuggle with her in bed. I have lots of toys that I chew on and take them outside to play too. I have dug a few holes in the yard, but my foster filled them in and I haven't dug them again. I have been with 3 little dogs and don't mind them at all, I try to play with them, but they are older and don't play much. I think I would do better with little bit older kids because when I get excited I sometimes jump. But I calm down fast. I might be shy at first but I warm up quickly. She is house broken and with a little more training would do well on a leash with walking. (She’s probably never had this). She likes car rides and usually just falls asleep in the seat. Also she doesn’t mind being crated but sometimes doesn’t go in on her own. She’s great with any human, kids and dogs. She loves to play. Fenced in yard would be a plus. If Hope sounds the perfect fit for you and your family, please visit the rescue website www.foreverhomedogrescueil.org for requirements, process and applications. WE DO NOT DO OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS Thank you for considering the adoption of one of our rescue dogs. We are committed to finding our rescues the perfect home. Together we can make a difference in the life of a dog. The adoption process should be a fun and exciting time for families and dogs. Our goal is to place our babies in forever homes. The potential adopter needs to be dedicated to their care and training for life. Understand that sharing your life with a dog can be a commitment of 15+ years. This would include feeding, exercise, training, vetting, and providing a loving home. Ask yourself, "Am I ready for this type of commitment?" If you are ready, we are here to help. We do have some requirements to help us find the perfect placement of our babies. WE ARE A FOSTER BASED RESCUE ONLY. WE DO NOT HAVE A PHYSICAL BUILDING 1. Apply online at https://www.foreverhomedogrescueil.org We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family (including other dogs) to approve an adoption. Only a final approval for adoption can take place after a successful meet and greet. This is done by appointments only. We will not proceed with the adoption if everyone has not met the dog. This will allow others the opportunity to adopt the dog. 2. Adopters MUST be 25 years old. Information on all adults/members living in the home is required We REQUIRE you to provide proof and vet reference that all current and past pets have been kept up to date on all routine medical. 3. Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spayed/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, 4. If you do not own your home, you must provide landlord contact information on the application and a copy of your lease that outlines the rules for dog ownership in your residence. Large breed dogs will not be adopted into apartment settings or where there are breed/ size restrictions. Puppies have special needs and require a home where someone is available to care for, socialize, and give basic training. If you are gone for more than a couple hours at a time, please consider adopting a teen or older dog. 5. Adoption fees are $400.00. We accept Zelle, Cash or Checks. (Prices are subject to change without notice). 6. All dogs and puppies adopted through Forever Home are fully vetted with age appropriate vaccines. Keep in mind once you take possession of your newly adopted dog, any and all future medical costs or care is YOUR responsibility. 7. First time puppy/dog adopters will be required to sign up for and pay in advance a basic training class. A deposit of an extra 50.00 will be required until a class has been completed, it will then be returned. 8. WE DO NOT DO OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS Medical included is as follows: Spay/Neuter (age appropriate) *Forever Home uses Fox Valley Animal Welfare League in Aurora, IL Age appropriate core vaccines Fecal testing and deworming Flea and tick preventative Free 1st Vet visit at one of our participating vets Microchipping Forever Home Dog Rescue reserves the right to deny any applicant.
