Story
Hi… I’m a 3- year-old hound mix with big, sad, soulful eyes that tell a story I’m still learning how to let go of. 💛I am a mom to ten puppies, and I take that job very seriously. I love them, protect them, and give them everything I have, like any good mother would. Now that they’re growing up, it’s my turn to find a family to care for me. I’ve learned to be careful with my heart. But once I know you’re my person, I love deeply and completely. I’ll stay close, watch you with my eyes, and soak up every bit of attention you give me.I should probably warn you—I’m a typical hound, which means I can be a little stubborn. If my nose catches an interesting scent, my ears might suddenly stop working 😉. I like doing things my way sometimes, but it’s all part of my charm, and I respond best to patience, consistency, and gentle guidance.I’m ready to trade in my mama duties for cozy naps, slow walks, and a family who sees me for the sweet, loyal girl I am.If you’re looking for a gentle heart to love and be loved by, I’m right here… waiting for my forever. 🐾❤️***FOSTER TO ADOPT***Mrs. Beasley is heartworm positive and not yet spayed. She is currently going through heartworm treatment. Once her treatment is complete, it is the responsibility of the adoptive family to get a microfilaria test 30 days after treatment for a preliminary result. Then, a heartworm test 9 months after treatment for final results. It is recommended that she continues getting tested for heartworm annually. During these months, you will need to make sure her heart rate is not elevated due to high energy play or exercise until she receives a negative microfilaria test. Mrs. Beasley will also need continued use of monthly heartworm preventives going forward. This will all be covered by Warrior Dog until her last injection. Any other medical needs will be the responsibility of the adopter. Once she receives a negative result on her heartworm test she will need to be spayed. The adoption can be finalized once treatment in complete and she is spayed. If you are interested in adopting Mrs. Beasely, please fill out an adoption application.--------------------------------------------"I'll be home for Christmas!" For applications received now through 12/31/2025, Warrior Dog Rescue is reducing the adoption fee of all pups. This is reflected in the adoption fee shown below. All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $350To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Age: approximately 2 years Weight: 34lbs Dog friendly: yes Cat friendly: unknown Kid friendly: unknown Potty trained: yes, on a schedule Crate trained: yes, okay in a crate ***Another dog required in home*** Hi, I’m Meredith. Affectionately called Scaredy-Mere or Mere-Bear. From my nicknames, you might’ve already guessed that I am still fearful of strangers, but I am also a bit of a cuddle bug. It doesn’t take too long for me to open up, though! After some TLC and patience for a day or so, I’ll let you know when I’m ready. If you give me a chance, I might even come right up to you, with my cold, wet nose almost touching your face, and look right at you as I gently lean in for pets. This is my way of letting you know I’m open to trust, and hoping you’ll just give me some love in return. Once we get to know each other, I might even give you a kiss! I am perfectly sized at around 35-40lbs, but I am probably smaller than you’d expect from my description and pictures. My foster thinks I might be a red hound mixed with a corgi, and maybe even some sausage dog. I have a beautiful ginger coat, golden-orange eyes that match, floppy ears, and short legs for my torso (or a long torso for my legs)-kind of like a corgi with a hound body. Definitely compact through the mid and very sturdy… Yes-I am as cute as I sound, and even sweeter! At night, I like to cuddle. I’ll come right to the head of the bed and lay on your pillows with you. I won’t go anywhere if you give me pets and don’t move around too much. If the bed gets too crowded, I’ll go to the floor and find a small space (like a crate or under the bed) to hide out until morning. I could easily be crate trained, and settle when I am in, but I am such a good girl that I get to roam free! I never have accidents, and prefer napping over snooping (unless there’s food in the dog bowls-in that case, I lick them clean). When I’m outside, I do have a prey drive and love to catch a new scent (this is why they’re thinking hound), but can easily be redirected and never resist going back inside. I’m great on leash and you honestly probably wouldn’t guess how scared of people I am if you saw me walking by on the street. I act very normal-even if there are loud sounds and changes in the environment (like snow). I still show interest in others dogs when they’re being walked by their humans. I even seem to be okay when people are walking in my general direction and around me. But if a person I don’t know tries to touch me or take my leash, that’s when I run to hide. Otherwise, I really don’t pull and know to trust the person holding the leash. I’m not very energetic, but will sometimes play with my pittie foster sister. Nothing too rough, but I can definitely stand my ground! I’m surprisingly confident when I’m solo, but another dog in the home would help me feel more at home sooner than later. I’m currently taking medication for my anxiety-it helps with stressful situations like transitions and meeting new people. But once I find my forever home, I might be able to be weaned off because I get so much confidence from my caretakers. So once I know you’re not going anywhere, I might not need it! I’ll just count on you to let me know everything is ok. If you are gentle, patient, and just looking for someone to love-you might be my soul mate! *With the cutest most demure puppy-eye stare…* Is that you? Adoption fee: $495

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxMeet Moto! Moto is a sweet, low-riding pup with adorable basset hound legs and a heart full of love. He gets along great with other dogs and loves to follow his foster sibling around the yard—he’s so short, he can even stroll right under her belly! Moto approaches every day with joyful enthusiasm, whether it’s playing with the resident dog, going for walks around the neighborhood, or snuggling on the couch with his nose resting on his foster’s shoulder. During the day, Moto is content to relax on his dog bed nearby while his foster works from home. He’s crate-trained, sleeps peacefully through the night, and does great when left alone, either in the crate or without it. He knows the basic commands of “sit” and “down” and walks well on a leash with occasional reminders to slow down, though he does find squirrels very exciting. Once he gets to know you, Moto’s expressive nature shines—his ears and voice tell you everything he’s feeling. His ears perk straight up when he’s excited, lay back on his head to listen when he walks ahead, and flop to the sides when he’s relaxed. He gives wide, squeaky yawns in the morning, may whine if he’s feeling lonely, yips excitement when it is time for a walk, and grunts when he is uncertain. He also has a deep, loud bark when he is alarmed or to alert that he needs to go out. That isn’t frequent, but might not be ideal for apartment living. Moto is recovering from a limp, and his short legs make stairs a bit of a challenge. He manages the shorter porch steps with a little help but avoids long flights of stairs. Moto would thrive in a calm, loving home where he can enjoy companionship, cozy naps, regular walks, and playtime with a dog friend. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-to-the-ground sweetheart who will fill your days with love and laughter, Moto would love to meet you!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.
