Just like his namesake, this 6-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound (60 lbs) is lovable, funny, and full of personality! Uncle Buck has the classic hound charm—friendly with everyone he meets and always ready to make you smile. He’s past the puppy stage but still has plenty of energy for walks, sniffing adventures, and playtime. Overall, he is a very easy going fellow. Uncle Buck’s is content with a couple of good walks and some belly rubs. He is an explorer at heart, and loves walking through tall grass, fields, and yards where he can. He’s getting used to city sidewalks and his harness, but is eager to please and learning fast there is still lots to see! His house manners are wonderful- he is extremely quiet and stays off the furniture unprompted. Buck loves being out in the neighborhood most, tail wagging, looking for pets from anyone willing to have their heart melted. His demeanor is happy and calm, and he gets along great with dogs, cats, and kids. Basically, Uncle Buck is all the perks of a great dog, with almost none of the hard work. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxMeet Moto! Moto is a sweet, low-riding pup with adorable basset hound legs and a heart full of love. He gets along great with other dogs and loves to follow his foster sibling around the yard—he’s so short, he can even stroll right under her belly! Moto approaches every day with joyful enthusiasm, whether it’s playing with the resident dog, going for walks around the neighborhood, or snuggling on the couch with his nose resting on his foster’s shoulder. During the day, Moto is content to relax on his dog bed nearby while his foster works from home. He’s crate-trained, sleeps peacefully through the night, and does great when left alone, either in the crate or without it. He knows the basic commands of “sit” and “down” and walks well on a leash with occasional reminders to slow down, though he does find squirrels very exciting. Once he gets to know you, Moto’s expressive nature shines—his ears and voice tell you everything he’s feeling. His ears perk straight up when he’s excited, lay back on his head to listen when he walks ahead, and flop to the sides when he’s relaxed. He gives wide, squeaky yawns in the morning, may whine if he’s feeling lonely, yips excitement when it is time for a walk, and grunts when he is uncertain. He also has a deep, loud bark when he is alarmed or to alert that he needs to go out. That isn’t frequent, but might not be ideal for apartment living. Moto is recovering from a limp, and his short legs make stairs a bit of a challenge. He manages the shorter porch steps with a little help but avoids long flights of stairs. Moto would thrive in a calm, loving home where he can enjoy companionship, cozy naps, regular walks, and playtime with a dog friend. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-to-the-ground sweetheart who will fill your days with love and laughter, Moto would love to meet you!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgThis poor mom was a stray who showed up at a woman’s home—but the resident dogs weren’t tolerant of newcomers, so she was left outside. Just a couple of days later, she gave birth to her 11 puppies in the carport.    The family is currently being kept in a bedroom, but it’s far from ideal. We’re working with a volunteer pilot to fly this entire family up to MARS—but they need a safe foster home ready for them when they land.   She is friendly, sweet, and appears good with other dogs. Her puppies were born November 10th and are already eating gruel twice a day If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption.
