Story
Daisy was found at a sawmill, pregnant. She was picked up by a shelter and then taken in by a rescue. After she had her puppies, she was adopted by her current family. They tried for a year but were not able to get her to accept their teen son as part of the family. She loves her people but prefers only animal siblings. She has been around cats with great success. Her first foster had dogs and they said she was fine with them however, she hasn't been around other dogs for a year. She is very sweet and loving. Enjoys walks and napping on the couch with her people. She seems to feel most comfortable with women but will warm up to men. She would do best with a family that doesn't entertain a lot.

  If you are looking for a loyal outdoor companion with a heart of gold, say hello to Kahlua—an 8-year-old Treewalker Coonhound mix who defines “good ole’ boy” in the best possible way. Around 60 pounds of love and sweetness, Kahlua lives for sunshine, breezes, rustling leaves, and long, thoughtful walks. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t rush through life—he notices everything, appreciates the little things, and reminds you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Kahlua has impeccable manners. Need to tie your shoe? He’ll stop and wait. Collar slips off? He’ll walk right over so you can fix it. He listens beautifully and truly wants to please his person. He also has a fun side—he loves squeaky toys, playing fetch (sharing the ball is a work in progress!), giving kisses, and being tucked in under cozy blankets like the pampered hound he is.  This boy is also a lake and boat enthusiast—a true water bug who will happily join you for every lakeside adventure. He grew up with other dogs and prefers being the “big guy,” doing well with respectful smaller dogs or calmer companions. Solo walks? He’s relaxed and steady. With bigger, energetic dogs? He may pull a bit in excitement. Kahlua loves kids who treat him kindly and is friendly toward cats, even though he didn’t share a home with them before. Above all else, Kahlua is drawn to people who make him feel loved—give him attention and he’ll give you his whole heart. He does get springtime seasonal allergies, so starting Apoquel in February or early March keeps him feeling his best. It’s a simple bit of care for a dog who gives so much sweetness in return. Kahlua’s former mama adored him deeply but faced life changes that made caring for him impossible. Now he’s ready for a forever home where he can spend his years surrounded by stability, love, comfort, and a family who appreciates everything he has to offer. Izzy is a 5 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound/Rottweiler mix. We adopted her as a puppy and have been her only home. She is a sweet girl who loves people. We have another dog that she gets along well with but we are not sure how she would do with another dog in the home. She can be skittish around new dogs. We have 2 small children that she has grown up around, she mostly ignores them but can become annoyed if they are in her space occasionally. Mainly if she is lounging around and doesn’t want to be approached. So she probably needs a home without small children. Izzy loves to be active and is very smart. Activity toys are usually no match for her as she solves them so quickly. She has allergies and anxiety and is currently on medication for both. She also has prescription food and treats for a food allergy. All that we can send with her. She’s a loving dog who will make a great addition to a home that can give her more attention than we are able to anymore

Please contact foster at hlheller@gmail.com- sweet and dainty girl learning to enjoy the cushy life- dog friendly and likes to roughhouse (slow intros still necessary!)- likes slow strolling walks to take in all the smells- currently crated when family is away- very quiet for a hound, may be OK in an apartment- more of a country gal than a social butterfly; she prefers the comfort of home over social hangouts- would do best having a confident dog sibling vs. being an only child- can be nervous of loud noises so a calm household is ideal- intelligent and learns quickly- will benefit from confidence-building training to be her best self- HW+ but will receive free treatment through the shelter

Story
We rescued Mack from a rough situation, he was covered in fleas and was an outside dog with others. We took and take great care of him and his brother. Who we rescued as well. Mack is 3 years old with tons of energy. When he is not running outside with zoomies or chasing a ball he lounges inside. Would like Mack to go to a home that will give him the attention and time he deserves. He loves to run and play fetch, you just have to grab the ball from him lol. He sits and lays when asked and he goes to his crate when told. Very well mannered.

Sally, was saved from a home where she lived outside 24/7. Her ex family had her up willing and said if things didn’t work out to return her back but Sally deserves the world. She is obedient, smart, kind, loving, and all she wants a home where she can be truly loved and accepted. Sadly due to our busy schedules it was a hard decision but we recognized that we could not save Sally and proved her the best care and attention she deserves. We want her to be rehomed with a family full of love for a dog that only has love to give. Thank you.
