I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Cat Adoption:36Courdoroy is a 10-year-old floofy brown tabby gentleman with the unmistakable look of a cat who's lived a full story—and isn't in a hurry to tell it. An indoor companion, he's a bit reserved at first and may politely sidestep unfamiliar hands, but patience is always rewarded. With a calm, gentle approach, Courdoroy warms up quickly, leaning into cheek and head rubs and revealing his sweet, affectionate nature. Mellow and thoughtful, he would be happiest in a quiet, predictable home where the pace of life suits his own. Courdoroy enjoys scratchers, string toys, and affection just where he likes it—on his head, cheeks, and shoulders. He prefers not to be picked up and isn't a fan of belly rubs or paw handling, which feels perfectly reasonable for a senior gentleman seeking a peaceful retirement. Courdoroy does have some ongoing skin and dental needs that will need to be followed up with a veterinarian. But in return, he offers loyal companionship, gentle affection, and the kind of calm presence only a seasoned soul can bring.  February 11, 2026, 2:05 am

Story
Squeak Heart the Valiant is an experienced cuddler for a ~7 month old kitten, loving lap time and giving rewarding kitty jumps when you pet him. He's fastidious in keeping himself clean. He gets along well with his 2 foster people and recently socialized well with a new friend, demonstrating his desire to find his true home. Having grown up fighting for his existence on the streets of Oakland, he very much would like a safe place inside without having to defend his territory. It would be ideal for him to be a single cat. He would love someone with a small bit of patience, but he warms up very quickly. If you sit down, he will crawl in your lap. If you lay down, he will plop right down next to you, unobtrusively psyched to have some affection. Oh, and he says, "I'm very handsome with my cute, fluffy face."

UPDATE: Marshall is now at the Milo Sanctuary in Richmond CA full time getting the attention and support he needs until his forever home comes along! Cautiously inquisitive as he learns to be indoors again. About one year old the Vet said. Found in busy warehouse area, but was being fed occasionally. Likes just hanging out with you; looks like he was around people when a kitten. OK with older teens, OK with quiet, calm dogs. Litter box trained, & travels well in a carrier. He was sometimes scratchy when hungry, but he's calmed a LOT since being neutered and being around people more. Up to date on vaccines. Stool and blood tests good. He is FIV positive. Might need one more checkup per year than usual due to FIV status. He enjoys being brushed out gently - especially the chin/cheeks. Was a street rescue, but is not a feral. I would keep him if not for existing cat that won't tolerate him. He should not be outdoors as he could fight another cat and transmit the FIV.
