FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Slade! Slade is a 1-year-old, 50 lb Vizsla mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. This handsome young guy is sweet, sensitive, and looking for a home where he can truly settle in and blossom! Slade can be a little shy at first, especially in new environments, but underneath that reserved exterior is a very loving and affectionate dog. He’s currently a bit kennel stressed, so he would greatly benefit from a calm, structured home where he can decompress, relax, and gain confidence at his own pace. Once he feels safe and comfortable, Slade’s playful and active side starts to come out. He has a good amount of energy and would love an active home that enjoys walks, adventures, and spending time outdoors with their dog. He does well with other dogs, though he prefers slower introductions so he has time to observe and get comfortable before jumping into interactions. With patient guidance and continued positive experiences, he continues to open up more and more. Slade is looking for adopters who understand shy dogs and are willing to give him the time, structure, and reassurance he needs to thrive. Her feral mother had been surviving on her own for quite some time, raising multiple litters on the streets. Thankfully, with the help of Amy and her siblings, we were able to gain her mother’s trust and bring them all to safety. Now, Amy is thriving! She is a playful, sweet, and loving puppy who adores people. She may be a little shy at first, but give her a few minutes, and she’ll be bouncing around, ready to play! As of February 26, 2025, she weighs 11.6 pounds, but she’s expected to grow to around 45 pounds. Amy is ready to find her forever home! Animal Profile: Marley is a 4-year-old, 60 lb neutered male mixed breed (DNA test showed German Shorthaired Pointer, Lab, Pitbull). He came to us as a puppy and was adopted but returned several years later due to anxiety around the young toddler in the home. Marley is friendly with other dogs but he has exhibited prey drive with the cats in his foster home, so we will not be considering homes with cats. He is discerning with new people but not reactive and  is a loyal companion to his people.. He is nervous with small children who don't respect his space. He is house trained, crate trained, and has good basic obedience training. We will share more as we get to know him in foster care.  Adopter Profile: Other dogs OK (not required) Dog-savvy older kids considered Fenced yard preferred Large breed experience  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from Texas as a puppy and adopted after a short stint in foster care.
