JJ may be named after a rock legend, but her favorite hits are cuddles, kisses, and a good bone to chew on. She doesn’t just wag her tail — she rocks her whole body with joy when she sees you. Sweet as can be and calm as a classic slow jam, JJ is all about affection and good vibes. She’s a proud mama whose puppies are now rocking their own happy endings up north with a rescue, and JJ is ready for her next chapter as your loyal backstage buddy. Hi! I'm a wiggly bundle of love looking for my forever home. I may be a little puppy, but I have a big heart! I'm a very smart girl and I'm learning to go to the door and scratch when I need to go potty. I'm still working on my potty training, so I'll need a little patience and encouragement as I keep learning. I love to talk to you—especially when I don't get my way! I have lots of personality and always like to let you know what I'm thinking. I'm also a big snuggler and my favorite place to sleep is right next to you. If you're looking for a sweet, cuddly, and playful best friend, I just might be the perfect puppy for you!  September 10, 2026, 10:31 am

Story
Lilly is a silver-gray Weimaraner with soft eyes that still light up every time a person walks into the room. At ten years old she’s spent her entire life as a house dog—never kenneled outside, never left alone in a yard. She’s completely house-trained, quiet indoors, and far more interested in curling up near your feet or resting her head on your lap than she is in other dogs. She’s the kind of companion who greets you like you’ve been gone a year even if you only stepped outside for the mail. People are her whole world. We’re moving to a new home where we simply won’t be able to take her with us, and that breaks our hearts. Lilly deserves to keep living the indoor life she’s always known—with someone who will talk to her, pet her, and let her be the devoted shadow she’s always been. If you have a calm, loving home and room in your heart for a gentle, people-oriented girl who’s ready to settle in and stay, we’d love to talk.

Story
🐾 Welcome to AWCR, Hayley! 🐾 Let’s give a warm welcome to our newest rescue girl, Hayley! Poor Hayley was picked up as a stray south of Atlanta, and sadly, no one came forward to claim her. As soon as we heard her story, AWCR stepped in to make sure she gets the love and care she needs. Here is what we know about this lovely girl so far: Hayley is a petite girl at a perfect 56 lbs. she’s good with other dogs. She is sporting a beautiful, natural tail, is housebroken and crate trained. Unfortunately, Hayley came with skin issues and anemia frequently connected to heavy ectoparasite infestations such as a severe flea burden or tick-borne diseases. When an animal is overwhelmed by blood-sucking parasites, they can develop Flea Allergic Dermatitis (FAD) alongside a dangerous drop in red blood cells (flea anemia). It is heartbreaking to see Hayley dealing with orthopedic pain on top of systemic issues, but we are getting her the comprehensive care she needs. Hayley is being spayed tomorrow, 9/10/26. Hayley is currently settling into her foster home. We will be updating her bio with details about her personality, energy level, and dog/cat compatibility as we get to know her better over the coming days. Welcome home, Hayley! Your happily-ever-after starts now.

Story
Lucy update from her foster mom: Upon Lucy's initial arrival, she exhibited signs of anxiety with lots of panting and difficulty settling in but in a short time she appeared much more relaxed. Lucy is taking independent potty breaks in the fenced yard. She tends to eat slowly and may need some encouragement to finish her meals. At night, she sleeps soundly on her bed in the same room as me. Currently, she is on a weight loss plan and is being fed Purina Pro Plan for weight management to help her get back to a healthy weight. Lucy is a gentle dog who enjoys being petted. She especially loves scratches on her backside. Although she is not a fan of the crate, with patience and training, she may become more comfortable with it. She gets along well with my dog. Since Lucy came to rescue with her sister, BooBear, we think having a canine companion in her new home would be beneficial. While Lucy could improve her leash manners, she is generally manageable on a leash. It is important for Lucy to have a consistent human companion to help her build confidence, so a home where she can receive regular attention and care would be ideal. I am confident that Lucy will make a wonderful companion for her new family. Lucy is an 8.5 year old, female weimie with a docked tail who's owner passed away. She has worked really hard to gain her confidence and come out of her shell and we can honestly say that she has a lovely personality! She is a little shy and unsure in new situations, but she's willing to try if you are! Lucy is working on crate training, is housebroken and happy to hang in a place she knows as home. She prefers to be with another laid back dog that will show her the ropes at her new place. We do know that she's not a fan of cats or farm animals, but would do great with older children that understand it will take some time for her to settle in. She'll need some refresher on leash walking. If you are interested in adopting Lucy, please complete an application at www.AtlantaLovesWeims.org. If you have already submitteded an application, please send us an email at rescue@AtlantaLovesWeims.org.

Story
Update from Archie’s foster mom: Archie is doing great! He is answering to the name already! If you are looking for a young pup who loves cuddles and will always be right by your side, look no further. Archie is eager to learn, picks up on routines quickly and tries really hard to learn the rules. Archie is crate trained, he may fuss some when it's time for bed but with a little encouragement he will trot right into the crate. When I am out doing yard work, he will simply sit or lay next to you and relax while you do the work. Archie just loves to be involved! Bonus, he is great on a leash. His cuddles are next level though, molding himself like goo to establish the perfect cuddle position. Archie is extremely playful and loves gathering all of his toys, one at a time, and putting them on the couch. Archie is still learning to be potty trained and using his mouth less when excited. But after only being with us for a week or so, he is already improving in these areas. Archie needs a home where he can be given plenty of attention and guidance. Since he is just a puppy learning how to be a dog. He tends to chew on things he shouldn't and be timid when exposed to new things. Austin nka Archie is a stunning 11 month-old, 45 lb. Weim/maybe Lab boy with a natural tail who was given a second chance at life just in the nick of time. He was set to be euthanized in an overcrowded Georgia shelter. Though he may not be a purebred Weimaraner, he has all the makings of an absolutely amazing companion. He is at that perfect puppy age where he is eager to learn, ready to bond, and full of affection. Archie did great when meeting others...he is definitely high energy, so other dogs in the home will need to be ready to play. Because Archie is still a young pup, he will thrive in a home that can give him lots of structure, plenty of love, and some basic training to help him grow into the best dog he can be. He has a bright, resilient spirit and is ready to leave his past behind to become the center of your world. If you are looking for a loyal, handsome, and grateful pup to join your family adventures, Archie is waiting to meet you! If you are interested in this adorable, little guy, please complete the adoption application on our website: www.atlantalovesweims.org/adopt

Story
Winter is a spunky little snowflake with a heart as warm as a crackling fireplace. She loves chasing toys like they’re falling snowballs and playing right by your side. When it’s time for affection, Winter happily plants herself in front of you—front and center—so she doesn’t miss a single cuddle. Even when she “rough plays,” she’s as gentle as fresh snow.
