Story
Xie xie is 6 years old and she is a smart dog that loves people and toys. She is very food motivated and knows a few tricks from her puppy years. She is a wonderful dog. She is not very loud and only barks when she is very excited by something (usually when her dog friend barks). She will take well to any visitors you have as she loves people. I am needing to emergency rehome my dogs because my mother lost her job due to a disability and we cannot afford the rent at the house we are living in. I am trying everything I can to keep my dogs off the streets or from a shelter where their safety is not assured. Please message me if you are interested, I will get back to you as soon as I possibly can. THEY NEED A HOME QUICKLY!! I’m working with a week left until we are evicted from the house and they will either be on the streets or with animal control. I have no way to take them with me and no one in my family can take them in. I have tried many rescues and humane soc

Story
Update from Boomer's foster family: Boomer is a strapping boy with beautiful, floppy Weim ears who is very adaptable, loving and a huge cuddle buddy. He’s a counter surfer of note, a squirt bottle does the trick. He’s very smart and learns really quickly and we’re amazed at how quickly he’s adapted in 4 days to our schedule. He’ll make a wonderful dog for an active family with older children. Welcome Boomer! This handsome, very sweet, and very intelligent approx. 2-3 yr old fella with a docked tail is 77 lbs of energy. Boomer loves everyone he meets! He was surrendered to rescue at no fault of his own. Boomer is housebroken, rides great in the car, and doesn't mind sleeping in his crate although a dog bed in the bedroom is also a great option. (NO cats!). Boomer is protective of his stuffies/toys and food, so he prefers to be an only dog! Boomer will need a family that can provide him with lots of exercise and no small children as he would knock them down. If you are interested in adopting Boomer, please submit an application via our website: www.atlantalovesweims.org

Story
Another UPdate from Charlie Dean's Foster! Update on Charlie from his foster: Charlie Dean is a bundle of love. His tolerant behavior is truly remarkable. You can simply drop his medicine in his food bowl, and he’ll gobble it right up. He sits patiently for eye drops without pulling away, and even though he isn’t a fan of shirts, he will stand still and lift his paws to help put them on. What a great little helper! Charlie adapts quickly to new routines and loves brisk, long walks where he can sniff around and catch up on the local gossip! He stays on the path and moves in sync with you like a true gentleman. While he might pull a bit from excitement, he checks in regularly and makes an effort to slow down. We're still learning together! Charlie is also very tolerant of various sounds and large moving objects. From inflatable costumes and garage doors to foldable chairs, vacuums, and even the excitement of yelling at live sporting events, he takes it all in stride! He truly shows his team spirit while supporting his favorite team! After our walks, Charlie loves to cuddle up on the couch—by invitation only! Like I said, he’s quite the gentleman. Although he enjoys lounging on the couch and sleeping in bed with you, he only joins if invited. What a polite communicator he is! With gentle excitement, he uses his toys and sitting position to let you know when he’s hungry or needs to go potty. Bonus: when he sleeps in bed with you, he’s like a rock, finding the perfect spot so everyone stays comfortable. So thoughtful! Charlie Dean is the sweetest dog I’ve ever encountered. Calm and affectionate, he seeks out your space and love. He listens well to simple commands; “Go lay down,” and he goes to his bed, while “Go to bed” sends him to his crate. He also adores car rides and settles down nicely if given a soft space to lay down. Charlie Dean is truly a diamond of a dog. His ideal forever home would be with an active family that enjoys daily walks to fuel his curiosity. A fenced yard would be perfect for him to run and play fetch. He deserves a home that allows him to rest and soak up all the gentle love he enjoys so much! Looks like he’s ready to meet his new family! If you are interested in learning more about Charlie Dean, please submit an application on our website at www.AtlantaLovesWeims.org/adopt ************************** Welcome Charlie Dean to the 1st Day of the BEST REST of your life! Charlie Dean is a 5 year old, male, neutered Weimaraner that is coming to us from Dorchester Paws, near Charleston, SC! He is HW negative and up to date with all his vaccines! Charlie is a sweet boy that just want's some lovin'! He seem to know his basic commands like "sit" and "come"... and if you check out the video, he even knows how to "shake"! And if that wasn't cool enough, he is ok with cats! Charlie has a condition called, Hypotrichosis - which is similar to Alopecia. The main difference is the Alopecia is total absence of hair, while Hypotrichosis means that Charlie does have some hair on his body - but he'll still need a sweater when the weather cools off - which makes him the perfect model for your knitting or crochet hobby! We will update you once he has settled into his foster home and has another check-up with our vet to make sure his skin is in top shape!

Wait until you see Obi!!! Obi is a very handsome, sweet 8 yr old boy that was surrendered to rescue because his family's work scheduled changed and they could not provide the time and attention that Obi needed. Obi is good with other dogs, preferably submissive other dogs, is housebroken and loooooooooooooves his people. He's even good with CATS!!!! Obi rides well in the car and lived with children. Obi does have separation anxiety so his new family will need to be home most of the time, have a fenced yard, and can provide lots of exercise and love.

Story
Update: We are so happy to let you all know that there are some amazing families among us and we are so grateful to have them on our team. Cole met his temporary foster mom yesterday (11-23-24) and he will meet another foster family next weekend. He will have a foster brother and sister. Thank you so much Jenna Sobh and the Peach family for stepping up for Cole. Cole will continue his heartworm treatment with the Peach family. Welcome Cole! Cole's story is like so many others...he was picked up as a stray and his owner was never found after exhaustive searching. The family that saved Cole from being hit by a car cared for him and he enjoyed hanging out with the other female Weim in the home. Cole was not fond of the Weim puppy. Cole is approx. 3-5 yrs old, neutered and has a docked tail. He is housebroken, knows "drop it", and walks okay on leash. His favorite thing is cuddling...he's a real pro!!! Unfortunately, Cole's previous family did not provide heartworm preventative and he will go through treatment prior to completion of adoption. AWCR pays for all medical.

Story
FOSTER HOME NEEDED! Welcome Piper! Piper is a 2 year old, spayed Weimie girl who arrived into AWCR yesterday and is looking for a new home! This is the first time Piper has been separated from her previous home, so she’s really looking to find her new family soon! She is frightened and confused on why she was left. She’s in good hands now and we will help her get to her new best life! She’s a big girl at 90 pounds (and can stand to lose a few), so she’ll need a family that will help her slim down a bit and get on a good eating routine! Any runners out there? We are beginning to learn more about Piper, but we do know a few things. Piper loves to love and be loved on. Playing with kids outside throwing a stick or frisbee is one of her favorite things to do. She loves her belly scratched and being able to go outside and run. She will bark at anything that moves, especially birds, and she sometimes will howl when she hears an ambulance siren going by. She is good with other medium/large dogs, but not cats and preferably no small/toy dogs. She would be best with older children due to her size. She loves to run outside and to play ball! She can be anxious if left alone for long periods, but probably directly related to the amount of exercise she gets… she is a 2 year old weim, after all! Are you interested in providing a temporary place as a foster or perhaps you think you may be the right family for her? Submit an application at www.AtlantaLovesWeims.org/adopt
