Like so many deserving dogs in PR, Yamil's best shot at finding a home is by flying to the mainland. Yamil is a 1-year-old 20–25 lb male who is up to date on vaccines and awaiting his neuter.  Yamil is submissive, and hoping to learn how this world works by following the lead of a dog who can teach him.. If dog shows had a Mr. Congeniality award Buster would be wearing a blue ribbon. A friend found Buster limping behind a restaurant on a hot day. His feet were blistered from the asphalt and his neck was raw from being chained up. His resilience is inspiring. He approaches every new person or dog with an assumption that he’s making new friends. He loves a good walk as much as he loves snuggling up for a lazy day. He very rarely barks and will quietly get your attention with sustained eye contact if he needs to go outside.He’s an amazing and gentle dog! I agreed to foster him despite having multiple health issues until my friend found him a home but never did. I had a potential home for him that fell through and now I’m panicking about finding him a new home before May 1st. I’m moving in with an elderly woman that’s terrified of dogs and has chronic allergies and asthma.

Current Location: Strasburg, VA Estimated date of birth: 7/3/25 Maple is quiet and watchful, taking in the world before deciding how he feels about it. He is still building confidence and does best when following the lead of more confident dogs. He enjoys time in the yard, plays with his littermates, and benefits from predictable routines. Maple is coming around slowly and would greatly benefit from increased one on one human interaction in a settled home. He is not a bold pup, but he is thoughtful and responsive once he feels safe. With time, patience, and gentle guidance, his personality will continue to emerge. Maple’s ideal home is calm and structured, with humans who understand that blossoming takes time. A confident dog companion is strongly preferred, and a fenced yard is recommended to support his safety and confidence. Maple is the kind of pup who will quietly steal your heart once he trusts you.

Current Location: Strasburg, VA Estimated date of birth: 7/3/25 Harvest is a gentle soul who wants connection but does not yet trust the process. She will come to her foster mom readily for petting but will be wary when meeting new people. Eventually she will come to you for chin and face scratches, which feels like a big win for her, and she will tolerate calm petting along her sides and back once she feels settled. She moves confidently between the kennel and the fenced yard and does her pottying outside like a champ. She also enjoys playing with her littermates and clearly draws comfort from their presence. That said, Harvest is still fearful of close human approach. If you walk directly toward her, she will circle away inside the pen. Being picked up scares her and she may squeal and potentially snap defensively if forced. For safety, gloves are required for any necessary handling such as crating for vet visits. She is not leash trained yet and will need time before that step is introduced. Harvest requires a fully fenced yard and a calm, patient home. A confident resident dog would help her tremendously. She is a flight risk and needs adopters who understand that progress comes through consistency and calm presence, not force. Harvest is not ready for chaos, but she is ready for the right person.

Autumn is a sweet, affectionate girl with a playful spirit and lots of energy. She thrives with regular exercise and loves chasing balls, sticks, and keeping the yard squirrel-free. She’s also very loving and will happily curl up in your lap.She is housebroken, crate trained, and does well in her crate overnight. Autumn enjoys walks and rides calmly in the car. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard where she can safely burn off energy.Autumn does well with older children who are comfortable with an enthusiastic, playful dog and who respect her space. She enjoys other dogs in group settings but thrives best as the only dog at home.Since welcoming a young child, we’ve found her energetic play style can be overwhelming for a toddler. We love her deeply and want to find her a home where she can truly thrive.
