I am 32lbs and l am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $450 I enjoy getting attention and playing with my toys. I'm housetrained and good in the car. I behave well when I have baths, have my ears cleaned, and being groomed. I have no trouble visiting the veterinarian. All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up to date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present at the time of your appointment. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. The shelter is currently open by appointment only with an approved application. When you visit, the adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. Story
Meet Sophia…. Sophia is an adorable puppy, thought to be a Whippet – Black Lab Mix; she’s petite with a dainty bone structure vs the more solid bone structure of a Lab!! She’s very smart, a quick learner, very alert and quite energetic!! At about 4 months, Sophia weighs 16 lbs. It is most important to note that we cannot be 100% sure of her adult weight, but our best guess is about 35-40 lbs. This cute pup joined BAARK from an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky earlier this year. She is thought to have been born around November 24 2022. When joining our rescue program, Sophia appeared happy, playful, and must have sensed that she was “free!” and safe!! Sophia is very sociable, outgoing, playful, and is great with dogs, but can be annoying to older, more well mannered dogs; she would be far too energetic for a senior (dog or human!) An ideal family for Sophia is one able to assimilate the energy of a puppy into their lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Sophia to be her best self! A fenced yard is ideal as is another younger or middle-aged pup in the family. Perhaps you’d consider adopting Sara along with Sophia…the girls are sisters!! Sophia is crate-trained and is working on good house manners (housebreaking). She is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Her spay is included in her adoption fee. For information about adding this adorable girl to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. **If you are interested in being considered for this dog, please be sure to complete an application directly on our website - not through a 3rd party service.* Welcome Mizzou!  The momma of our NCAA College Mascots litter!  She has raised all of her little mascots and is now ready to find her forever home.  Mizzou takes her name from the University of Missouri, located in Columbia, MO, a school that boasts students from all 50 states as well as several other countries!.   She was brought to rescue as a pregnant stray from Missouri.   Mizzou is an approximately 2 year old, 30 lb, spayed Pitbull / Whippet mix (we do not DNA test and this is our best guess).  Mizzou loves everyone she meets, but is a little shy at first so she tends to army crawl to you, to check you out and make sure you’re ok.  Once she’s done that, its all love, hugs and kisses from this girl.  Mizzou is good with other dogs, kids and even cats.  She is a calm and gentle girl.  She is crate trained and house broken, good on a leash and has learned several basic commands.   If you think you have room in your family for Mizzou, please fill out an application today! Mizzou’s adoption fee is $350 (includes age appropriate vaccines and microchip) *HWMAR presents the information in these bios based on our foster observations and any information presented to us regarding prior living conditions, breed specifications.
