Meet Sophia…. Sophia is an adorable puppy, thought to be a Whippet – Black Lab Mix; she’s petite with a dainty bone structure vs the more solid bone structure of a Lab!! She’s very smart, a quick learner, very alert and quite energetic!! At about 4 months, Sophia weighs 16 lbs. It is most important to note that we cannot be 100% sure of her adult weight, but our best guess is about 35-40 lbs. This cute pup joined BAARK from an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky earlier this year. She is thought to have been born around November 24 2022. When joining our rescue program, Sophia appeared happy, playful, and must have sensed that she was “free!” and safe!! Sophia is very sociable, outgoing, playful, and is great with dogs, but can be annoying to older, more well mannered dogs; she would be far too energetic for a senior (dog or human!) An ideal family for Sophia is one able to assimilate the energy of a puppy into their lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Sophia to be her best self! A fenced yard is ideal as is another younger or middle-aged pup in the family. Perhaps you’d consider adopting Sara along with Sophia…the girls are sisters!! Sophia is crate-trained and is working on good house manners (housebreaking). She is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. She’s playful and has a medium energy level—perfect for a family that enjoys a balance of activity and downtime. Emmi also does well with other dogs, making her a great addition to a home with furry friends. If you’re looking for a loyal, adventurous, and lovable companion who’s ready to grow alongside you, Emmi is ready to meet her forever family! All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. This is all done in play or merely for pure joy. Dandi does not have a prey drive. She is fine with cats. Dandi gets along famously with dogs of all sizes. This is fantastic as she must have at least one canine companion to help her manage her very high energy levels. Once her frenetic high spiritedness has been drained, she plays contentedly on her own with toys. She is affectionate, craves attention. Very nice to meet you, I'm Janeane! I'll be 1 year old at the end of this year, and currently weigh about 40 lbs. Humans weren't always nice to me, so when I first meet strangers, I bark and growl at them to let them know that I'm nervous. But I have two things I really love - treats and other dogs! So, if you're patient and have those two magic items, I'll work through my anxiety and show you my silly, sweet, cuddly side that makes everyone fall in love.I sleep like an angel in my crate overnight, I haven't had an accident in the house yet, and I know not to pull on the leash when we walk. I'm fine sharing my toys and food with humans and other dogs, aren't touchy about my tail/paws/ears/etc (after I'm comfortable with you) and crave affection so you better be okay with giving scratchies! I haven't met any cats yet. Younger kids can make me nervous, they move fast and that's scary and I growl to have them calm down, but I've been great with teens. I've lived with big and small dogs, and I do *NEED* another dog to show me the ropes and help me understand that I'm okay.
