We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here.   Krista is Looking For:    This cutie landed in the shelter due to no fault of her own but she's closed that chapter. Now she's ready for her new chapter and is looking for a loving home to call her own. Krista would love going for nice long walks, playing with other dogs, and going to dog school to show you how super smart she is. Before coming to the rescue, Benji lived life outdoors and had some hair loss, but now he’s on the mend—his scruffy coat is growing back in, and it just adds to his charm! He’s currently learning all the good stuff about being a spoiled house pup, like walking on a leash and discovering how amazing beds and toys can be. If you have a soft spot for scruffy, adorable boys and a heart for helping a pup continue to blossom, Benji is ready to find his forever home and be your loyal little companion Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $600 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Current Location: Ijamsville, MD Meet Macaroni: The Shy Little Collector 🧸 If you have a quiet home, a playful dog, and a heart full of patience, Macaroni might just be your perfect match. Macaroni is a beautiful black wire-haired Terrier mix with a soul that is slowly learning how to shine. Coming from a difficult hoarding situation, the world can still feel a bit overwhelming for her. She is very shy and cautious when meeting new people, but for the right person, the reward of her trust is worth every second of the wait. Her Personality: Once Macaroni feels safe and opens up, her true "silly girl" side comes out! She’s a quirky, sweet pup who has a hilarious habit of collecting random objects—she loves to keep her favorite "things" close for safekeeping. What Macaroni Needs: - A Canine Guide: Macaroni must have a confident dog sibling in her forever home. She finds her courage by watching other dogs and needs a buddy to show her that life isn't so scary. Need a built-in buddy for Macaroni? Check out her adoptable foster brother, Jaxi, in the link below! https://new.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/OPFH-A-46911 - A Secure Yard: Because she finds the leash quite intimidating, a fenced-in yard is a must. She loves to explore and play at her own pace in a secure space. - Patience & Understanding: Her new family will need to take things slow. She isn’t a "love at first sight" kind of girl, but rather a "love that grows deeper every day" kind of girl. - A Quiet Environment: A calm household without too much hustle and bustle will help her feel most at ease. Macaroni has come a long way, and she’s looking for a special adopter who sees the brave dog she is becoming. Are you ready to show Macaroni what a "happily ever after" feels like?

Story
If interested in Lucas, apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CPAR/Dog Lucas is a 1 year old, 29 lb Sato looking for a fresh start after losing the only safety he knew. A Sato is a Puerto Rican street dog, and Lucas has already experienced more change and loss than any young dog should. Lucas was one of multiple dogs rescued from a home in Puerto Rico after their rescuer unexpectedly passed away. Thanks to donations and supporters, Coffee and Paws Rescue was able to step in and save the dogs before they were left with nowhere to go. Despite everything, Lucas has a happy, sweet personality and absolutely loves other dogs. He is settling into foster care and learning what life in a home is all about. Lucas is currently working on crate, leash, and potty training and continues to gain confidence each day. After surviving life on the streets and then losing his rescuer, Lucas is simply looking for a safe, loving place to rest his head and finally feel secure again. Lucas is being fostered in Annapolis, MD. PLEASE READ: Any dog that is house or potty trained will still need patience in a new home with new people and a new schedule. Please be ready to train ANY dog you adopt! Also, please understand we can not guarantee breed or full grown size of any young dog or puppy. Thank you for understanding.

Story
Otey is an approximately 2-year-old terrier mix weighing in at about 21 pounds of pure personality and sweetness. What started as us helping a homeless dog turned into several weeks of fostering, loving, and getting this goofy little guy fully vetted, vaccinated, and freshly neutered — and now he’s ready to find his forever home. ❤️ Otey is: ✔️ House trained ✔️ Extremely cuddly and affectionate ✔️ Funny, talkative, and full of personality ✔️ Great at making you feel like you’re never alone ✔️ Still a little puppy-ish and learning every day He’s also a bit of a scaredy cat with noises and can be an escape artist, so he would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard. Off-leash recall is definitely still a work in progress. 😅 Otey has done well in a home environment and really just wants someone to love him as much as we have. He isn’t just going to a home — he’s going to his home. We are asking a $300 relocation/adoption fee simply to ensure commitment from his future family!!
