Benji is a sweet little guy with a gentle soul. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but with a little patience, his loving personality quickly shines through. Before coming to the rescue, Benji lived life outdoors and had some hair loss, but now he’s on the mend—his scruffy coat is growing back in, and it just adds to his charm! He’s currently learning all the good stuff about being a spoiled house pup, like walking on a leash and discovering how amazing beds and toys can be. Location: Ramsey, MN Meet this sweet, sun-loving girl! At around 1-year-old, she’s the perfect mix of gentle companion and professional couch snuggler. She can be a little shy when meeting new people and situations, but give her a little time and patience and she’ll happily soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. Her favorite hobbies include lounging in the sunshine, exploring the yard with her nose, and curling up beside you for marathon cuddle sessions. She walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys stopping to investigate all the interesting smells along the way. She’s been around young children (ages 1, 3, and 6 years) and has been calm and respectful, and she’s shown the same easygoing attitude when passing other dogs on walks. She prefers to carefully evaluate new things before diving in. Doorways, thresholds, and kennels can seem suspicious at first, but once she realizes they aren’t plotting against her, she moves through them just fine with a little guidance. She may sing a short “please don’t leave me” song when first settling into her kennel, but she quickly quiets down and relaxes. She’s been a wonderful house guest so far with no accidents and no interest in redecorating the house by chewing belongings. Her recall is still a work in progress, so she’s not quite ready for an off-leash adventure career, but she’s eager to learn. Welcome Leader to CCPAL Rescue. Leader is a Cairn Terrier Mix. He is friendly with other dogs and came in with 2 other dogs. He came in with a pregnant momma dog and a male dog named Arty. Arty and Leader have play time and are kenneled together at the Rescue. Leader is 26 pounds and is about 2 years old. His teeth look clean so he won’t need a dental anytime soon. His coat wasn’t as pretty as it is now that he has been in the Rescue a couple of weeks. He is getting lots of daily attention and good nutrition. He is getting his DHPP vaccines and will get Rabies when neutered. He would be fine in a home with a moderately active family. He is sturdy enough to be a good walking companion. He will need brushing and maybe some grooming to have the tip top coat. He isn’t a big shedding dog. He is vocal but not over the top. I would call him an alert dog bark. He will alert you that something is different or someone different is here. He settles down nicely and is also able to be relaxed and chill. He would be able to go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is social and very happy. He is independent and not too clingy. He isn’t used to constant touching and attention and is fine relaxing by you and watching what you are doing. We would love this boy to have his very own forever home where he can get daily attention, walks and everything a loved dog gets. He was from an overcrowded situation….maybe a City Removal type case. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.
