I'm part of the Pets for Patriots Program! Ask our team about me to learn more, or go to https://www.petsforpatriots.org/how-it-works/Meet Graham!Hi, I'm Graham! I'm 2 years old and really like to say hi to people. Sometimes I put my paws on laps and other times I sit near them as they pet me, which is my favorite. I've also met some doggie friends here at the RVSPCA that have been roughly my size, and I liked spending time with them too! Sometimes I play with toys by myself, but I really prefer to just hang out with others. Would you like to hang out with me too? Come schedule a meet through the staff today! I am neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested. Come meet me! My adoption fee is $99. If you are interested in adopting me, please complete our online Adoption Application at https://rvspca.org/adopt/application/ The Roanoke Valley SPCA offers adoptions by appointments Monday - Saturday between Noon and 6pm. Appointments can be made by calling 540-339-9247. Walk-in's will be offered for the next available appointment. Pets are adopted on a first-come-basis. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold pets nor guarantee a pet will be available at the time of your appointment, but we do promise to call you if a pet is adopted prior to your appointment. The Roanoke Valley SPCA has embraced Fear Free Shelters philosophy and are committed to giving each pet in our care a fear free experience while looking for their forever homes. The Fear Free® philosophy is designed to reduce the negative emotional states that are commonly experienced by shelter animals, including fear, anxiety, stress, and frustration. We offer virtual walk thru of available pets on our website and at our shelter. The end result is a happier, healthier new member of your family. Call 540-339-9247 Monday - Saturday between 12PM and 6PM to speak with our staff for more information. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 34.5 Age: 2yrs 0mths 2wks

For inquiries email jonna@compactcaninerescue.org Fee: $600 Location: Manassas, VA Update 9/2/26: Terry is fully recovered from his surgery and is a fantastic pup! Bring this adorable pup into your home! He is just about perfect!! Updatee 9/2/26: Terry is fully recovered from his surgery and is a fantastic pup! Bring this adorable pup into your home! He is just about perfect!! UPDATE Aug. 8, 2026: Terry is such a great dog. He came to us in bad shape: his hip was fractured, his fur was completely matted, possibly struck by a car. He had surgery on his hip and came through with flying colors. His fur is growing back nicely, too! He is running and playing like a young dog should! He is using the limb after surgery. He is full of energy. He loves to run and play in the fenced yard in his foster home. Terry loves other dogs and he isn't much of a barker! He's an all around good boy! Terry is ready for his new home. Meet Terry! Terry is a sweet little terrier mix. He is approximately 3 years old and weighs 12 pounds. He was a stray in the Norfolk area who was picked up by animal control and taken to the shelter. Upon intake Terry was noted to have difficulty walking and his leg was swinging from the hip joint. He was in some pain as well. After completing their intake tasks the shelter obtained x-rays. Poor little Terry had a broken hip, most likely from being hit by a car. We inquired about Terry and learned he was scheduled for an amputation surgery Friday, June, 4th. We asked if that was his only option. And, luckily, it was not. He could also have FHO Surgery but the shelter could not afford it. Understandably, they would only consider amputation. Funding is scarce for animal shelters and they definitely do the best they can for each animal. We are grateful for our partnership with NACC. They are a great shelter. Terry is a young dog and we did not want to see him amputated if possible. We called our clinic in Manassas to find out if they perform the FHO procedure and they do!! And, the best part...they have an opening on Monday, June 8th! We immediately scooped up Terry! With with a stroke of luck, and the help of Pilots N Paws were able to fly him to Manassas on Thursday, June 4th! He is now comfortable in our foster moms home, receiving pain medication and resting up for his surgery. So far he has been very sweet. He is seeking attention and playing with toys as well. He is very happy to be out of the stressful, shelter environment. Terry will have FHO surgery along with his neuter on Monday, June 15th. Terry will need some recovery time but small, active dogs recover very quickly from this surgery. If you are interested in donating to his care please use the links below to help out. His current cost estimate is $2437 - $3050, not including vaccine boosters, preventives, pain medication and his neuter. Current Location: Ijamsville, MD Adoption Fee Covered + Free Training! Thanks to a generous supporter, this pet's adoption fee is fully covered — and OPH is including six virtual training sessions with a certified trainer in the first 60 days to help you start off strong together! Meet Macaroni: The Sweet, Shy Soul Ready to Blossom If you have a quiet home and a heart full of patience, Macaroni might just be the missing piece of your family. A survivor of a challenging past, Macaroni is learning that the world isn’t quite as scary as she once thought. While she is still discovering the simple joys of life, she is proof that with time and kindness, even the shyest dogs can show their true colors. The "Real Talk" on Macaroni Macaroni needs an adopter who respects her pace and understands that her progress is measured in small, beautiful moments: Earning Trust: Macaroni is not a "lap dog" in the traditional sense. She is still very fearful of direct touch; however, when she feels safe she’ll tentatively seek out chin scratches or give you a gentle "boop" with her nose when you aren't looking. She needs a home that will give her the space to approach you on her terms. The "Ignore" Rule: She is cautious around new people. Her way of managing nerves is to bark from a distance or retreat if someone tries to engage too quickly. She does best when visitors simply ignore her, allowing her the dignity and safety of deciding when to say hello. Potential Flight Risk: Macaroni is still adjusting to the concept of boundaries. She currently dislikes the leash and has shown a knack for jumping fences when overwhelmed. Because of this, she needs a secure yard and an adopter who understands her flight risk until she is fully bonded and confident in her surroundings. (The good news? If she does wander, she’s so attached to her people that she naturally gravitates right back.) Why You’ll Want Her on Your Team Once the "shell" comes off, Macaroni is a delight. She is not just a project; she is a personality waiting to shine: The Wiggle-Butt Factor: When she’s happy, she does the cutest, most infectious wiggle-butt dance. If you talk to her, she’ll light up, showing you the silly, playful side that has been waiting to come out. Morning Zoomies: Nothing beats the sight of Macaroni enjoying her morning zoomies in the yard. She’s learning how to play, how to chase, and how to be a dog. A True Friend: She loves her canine best friend, Cheese. Watching her blossom alongside him has shown us that she has a massive capacity for love—she just needs the right environment to let it out. The Perfect Match Macaroni is looking for a home that can offer: A Canine Mentor: She must have a confident, balanced dog in the home. She relies on other dogs to show her the ropes and help her feel secure enough to be herself. A Low-Traffic Environment: Because of her fear of strangers, she would thrive in a home with adults or older teens who can respect her need for space. Patience and Security: An adopter who is committed to a "safety-first" approach regarding leashes and fences, and who understands that she needs time to settle in before she truly reveals her full, playful personality. Are you the patient, steady hand Macaroni has been waiting for? She has so much love to give to the right person. If you're ready to provide a sanctuary for this sweet, wiggly girl, please click the apply button today! We would love to see Macaroni and Cheese find their forever home together. If that isn't possible, she still requires a home with another confident dog to help her navigate her new world.
