We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here.   Krista is Looking For:    This cutie landed in the shelter due to no fault of her own but she's closed that chapter. Now she's ready for her new chapter and is looking for a loving home to call her own. Krista would love going for nice long walks, playing with other dogs, and going to dog school to show you how super smart she is. Lots of treats, a warm cozy bed, and belly rubs would go a long way to making this girl happy.    And she promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship in exchange. What do you say? Does that sound like a fair trade to you?   What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once she has spent time in foster care. Story
Unlike actual waffles, this one won't last until breakfast. At 3½ months old and 14 pound terrier mix, Waffle is the kind of puppy who quietly sneaks into your heart before you even realize what's happened. He's sweet, calm, and remarkably relaxed for a youngster, with just enough puppy playfulness to keep life interesting. Waffle can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a few minutes and he'll be your newest best friend. He's incredibly smart already, knows "sit," is crate trained, and is making great progress with potty training. He loves other dogs and would thrive with a canine buddy to show him the ropes—or with a family where someone is home a good part of the day to keep him company. Waffle would be happiest in a calm home with a fenced yard where he can explore, play, and perfect the important art of afternoon lounging. We can also picture him forming that once-in-a-lifetime friendship with a gentle child—the kind where they're inseparable from the first day they meet. If you're looking for a puppy who's equal parts sweet, thoughtful, and wonderfully easygoing, Waffle is ready to make himself right at home. Quick facts: • 3½ months old • 14 lbs • Terrier mix • Sweet, calm, and easygoing • Knows "sit" • Crate trained and working on potty training • Loves other dogs • Would enjoy a calm home with a yard **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our adoption questionnaire.** Puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations and other routine care prior to adoption. A $250 spay/neuter deposit is required at time of adoption. This fee covers spay/neuter at one of PetConnect’s preferred veterinary partners. If the adopter chooses to use their own veterinarian, the deposit will be returned with proof of sterilization. For more information, please email Katherine at kberger@petconnectrescue.org.

Story
Some puppies burst into the room. Butter quietly melts your heart. This 3½-month-old Terrier mix weighs 12 pounds and is discovering that the world is a pretty wonderful place. A little more thoughtful than her sister, Butter likes to take a moment to figure things out before happily joining the fun. Since arriving in foster care, she's been blossoming every day. One of her favorite discoveries? The resident Mini Poodle, who has become her trusted friend and tour guide through this big, exciting world. Butter is incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate. She's learning that new people, new experiences, and everyday adventures aren't so scary after all—and her confidence grows a little more each day. She's doing a wonderful job adjusting to home life and would thrive with a family that will continue encouraging her as she explores life at her own pace. A friendly canine companion would be a bonus, but mostly Butter is looking for kind people who will cheer her on. If you're looking for a puppy with a soft heart, gentle spirit, and plenty of love to give, Butter is ready to make your home her happy place. Quick facts: • 3½ months old • 12 lbs • Terrier mix • Sweet, gentle, and affectionate • Great with dogs and loves her foster Mini Poodle friend • Learning about the big world every day • Blossoming beautifully in foster care **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our adoption questionnaire.** Puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations and other routine care prior to adoption. Story
Warning: Cheerio has already claimed the best spot on the couch... and possibly your TV remote. At just 3½ months old and 14 pounds, this adorable Terrier mix is everything a puppy should be—happy, curious, and convinced that every person she meets is a potential new best friend. Cheerio loves people, children, other dogs, cats, and even the resident bird. If it has a heartbeat (or feathers), chances are she'd like to be friends. She's incredibly food motivated, eager to please, and a quick learner, making training both fun and rewarding. Whether she's learning new tricks, exploring the backyard, or collecting belly rubs, Cheerio approaches life with a wagging tail and endless enthusiasm. Her only flaw? She has a suspicious habit of ending up in possession of the TV remote. We're not saying she's binge-watching dog shows while you're away... but we're not not saying it either. If you're looking for a friendly, social puppy who's ready to grow up surrounded by love, laughter, and plenty of adventures, Cheerio is ready to brighten your days. Quick facts: • 3½ months old • 14 lbs • Terrier mix • Great with people, kids, dogs, cats, and even birds • Smart, food motivated, and eager to please • Professional remote control collector **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our adoption questionnaire.** Puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations and other routine care prior to adoption.
