Current Location: Ijamsville, MD Adoption Fee Covered + Free Training! Thanks to a generous supporter, this pet's adoption fee is fully covered — and OPH is including six virtual training sessions with a certified trainer in the first 60 days to help you start off strong together! Meet Macaroni: The Sweet, Shy Soul Ready to Blossom If you have a quiet home and a heart full of patience, Macaroni might just be the missing piece of your family. A survivor of a challenging past, Macaroni is learning that the world isn’t quite as scary as she once thought. While she is still discovering the simple joys of life, she is proof that with time and kindness, even the shyest dogs can show their true colors. The "Real Talk" on Macaroni Macaroni needs an adopter who respects her pace and understands that her progress is measured in small, beautiful moments: Earning Trust: Macaroni is not a "lap dog" in the traditional sense. She is still very fearful of direct touch; however, when she feels safe she’ll tentatively seek out chin scratches or give you a gentle "boop" with her nose when you aren't looking. She needs a home that will give her the space to approach you on her terms. The "Ignore" Rule: She is cautious around new people. Her way of managing nerves is to bark from a distance or retreat if someone tries to engage too quickly. She does best when visitors simply ignore her, allowing her the dignity and safety of deciding when to say hello. Potential Flight Risk: Macaroni is still adjusting to the concept of boundaries. She currently dislikes the leash and has shown a knack for jumping fences when overwhelmed. Because of this, she needs a secure yard and an adopter who understands her flight risk until she is fully bonded and confident in her surroundings. (The good news? If she does wander, she’s so attached to her people that she naturally gravitates right back.) Why You’ll Want Her on Your Team Once the "shell" comes off, Macaroni is a delight. She is not just a project; she is a personality waiting to shine: The Wiggle-Butt Factor: When she’s happy, she does the cutest, most infectious wiggle-butt dance. If you talk to her, she’ll light up, showing you the silly, playful side that has been waiting to come out. Morning Zoomies: Nothing beats the sight of Macaroni enjoying her morning zoomies in the yard. She’s learning how to play, how to chase, and how to be a dog. A True Friend: She loves her canine best friend, Cheese. Watching her blossom alongside him has shown us that she has a massive capacity for love—she just needs the right environment to let it out. The Perfect Match Macaroni is looking for a home that can offer: A Canine Mentor: She must have a confident, balanced dog in the home. She relies on other dogs to show her the ropes and help her feel secure enough to be herself. A Low-Traffic Environment: Because of her fear of strangers, she would thrive in a home with adults or older teens who can respect her need for space. Patience and Security: An adopter who is committed to a "safety-first" approach regarding leashes and fences, and who understands that she needs time to settle in before she truly reveals her full, playful personality. Are you the patient, steady hand Macaroni has been waiting for? She has so much love to give to the right person. If you're ready to provide a sanctuary for this sweet, wiggly girl, please click the apply button today! We would love to see Macaroni and Cheese find their forever home together. If that isn't possible, she still requires a home with another confident dog to help her navigate her new world.

These little cutie pies are super sweet; they’re dog friendly, cat friendly, and people friendly! They’re playful and energetic as well as curious. They adore toys and are also vocal! (You know how puppies are!) Such a terrific litter of wonderful pups! Story
IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Frida! Frida is an adorable 1-year-old, 12-pound pup who we believe may be a Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mix (just our best guess!). This sweet, playful girl loves being wherever her people are. Whether it's running errands, visiting the barber shop, shopping, or even enjoying a stroller ride, Frida is happiest as your constant companion. Like many Jack Russell mixes, she is energetic, smart, and always ready for fun. Frida gets along wonderfully with the two large dogs in her foster home and loves to play, so she will need another young, playful dog in her forever family. She is house-trained and crate-trained for short periods but would do best in a home where she isn't left alone for long stretches. If there are cats in the home, they should be dog-savvy and comfortable with Frida's playful chase games. Frida is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. The Adoption Fee is $375.00 ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Zeke! Zeke is about 9 years old and weighs about 15 lbs. We think Zeke looks like a Cairn Terrier Mix of some sort -- JUST A GUESS. Are you looking for a happy-go-lucky pup? Zeke could be your guy! He's the perfect combination of "chill" & playful. His favorite activities include eating, going for walks, chasing bunnies (if allowed) and snuggling next to you on the sofa. He was a good boy for his bath & grooming, although he didn't love the clippers near his face. Can't say that I blame him! He is dog friendly but doesn't care for cats. If you have a feline friend in your home, we can cat test him. Zeke is house & crate trained, which is a huge bonus! Even if he isn't crated, he doesn't exhibit any destructive behavior. He's generally quiet but will occasionally speak up, if he's uncomfortable with a person, noise, etc. Overall, he's a really easy pup! ***NOTE: This dog will require grooming*** This dog is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped. The adoption fee is $300.00. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CK Rescue*** ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check.
