He was holding on day by day in the suffocating heat, but it would have been hard for him to endure the harsh conditions much longer. Therefore, Adogs stepped in urgently to rescue him. ​3️⃣ Personality & Traits * ​With People: Has zero shyness - genuinely loves people! Is very affectionate and welcomes cuddles and affection with open arms. * With ​Dogs: Is fine even when other dog friends approach him first and loves playing along with them. * With Cats: Has not been tested around cats yet. * ​Separation Anxiety: Hard to assess as he is currently living in a group setting at the center. Will need basic training once settled in a home environment. * ​Potty Training: Currently using indoor potty pads. Consistent guidance will be needed as he adjusts to a new environment. * ​Grooming: Does well with brushing and nail trims. * ​Leash Walking: Since he is still settling into the center, he hasn't gone on walks yet. * ​Car Rides: Shows slight symptoms of motion sickness. * ​Nipping/Biting: Has never shown any nipping or biting behavior. * ​Barking: Has never displayed barking or whining behavior. Training may still be helpful once he transitions to a home environment. * ​Likes: Loves getting treats! * Personality: Bright and social! Loves people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. *Currently fostered in Portland, OR Meet Castiel! Castiel is currently a year old, and we think he may be a wire hair terrier and chihuahua mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Castiel is a joyful boy with a wiry coat, probably moderate to low shedder, and he’s young so he has spunky energy. He likes toys and playing with kids! He tries to instigate play and engagement. Castile is so unique and beautiful! Everywhere we take him, people talk about how unique he is! Castiel is a Good little guy! He played with Jessica - another small playful dog- and he is not too pushy with his play, for a puppy. He played chase for a little bit and would come back up to me to sit next to my feet. Once he got tired he would lay down in front of me and relax taking all the affection he could get. He is a puppy so he will need some training as he gets older, but he will learn quickly because he is very much a people pleaser. When he met my kids ages 4 and 7, he was joyful and wanted to engage with them. He’s very trusting and outgoing. He does like toys and wants to initiate play. We got Ziggy as a puppy in Feb of 2022. She has been a great family dog. She is lively, energetic and very sweet. She is great with kids and good with most other dogs. We also have a cheweenie in the home and they are great buddies. Sadly, we have come into a situation where we cannot give her the time and attention she needs and have a child experiencing health issues that requires we not have a pet in our home.

Kiwi is looking for a stable, loving home where he can settle in for good, and this boy has personality!! Kiwi will melt your heart once he is settled and you have created a bond! Kiwi is housebroken, independent, and smart. He just needs someone to call family. This sweet 7-year-old Jack Russell mix wants to be your best friend. He’s a great companion, happy to relax all day and always up for a walk when you are. Kiwi enjoys car rides and loves playing fetch, so if you have a ball, he’ll be ready for fun. He’ll curl up in your lap while you work from home or watch TV, and he rarely barks. For homes with kids, Kiwi does best with adults. Typical of the Jack Russell breed, Kiwi has a strong prey drive and should not live with cats or other small animals. Kiwi’s health needs are easy to manage, but it’s important to be aware of them. He has some spine issues that sometimes cause pain and a little bladder leakage, so he wears a belly band. He takes daily medication to help with discomfort and does best with regular, short walks instead of long or very active outings. Other than this, he doesn’t need any complicated medical care. His routine mainly involves giving him his medication, monitoring his mobility, and ensuring he’s comfortable. When Kiwi first left the shelter, he reacted to other dogs on leashes and sometimes guarded his things. Thanks to training, he now walks calmly past other dogs every day. Because of his past, he’ll do best in a home without other dogs. We’ll provide training materials, behavioral support, and guidance to help you continue making progress. We’re always here to answer questions or offer advice. Kiwi’s spinal issues cause some nerve compression, which leads to pain and occasional dribbling from lack of bladder control. He’s comfortable wearing belly bands, has only occasional leaks, and is fully housebroken. If you have a fenced yard, like going for walks, have a big heart, and love animals, you might be the perfect match for this quirky senior Jack Russell Terrier who likes to take things at his own pace.
