Story
Sweet momma, Utopia, and her five day old pups were hours away from being euthanized in a small Texas animal shelter before they were rescued. Momma was scared and protective of her babies for a few days until she realized they were safe. Now she is a total lovebug! Utopia needs a patient family. She is shy and will take some time and lots of treats to be comfortable in her new home. She would do best with another confident dog to show her the ropes. She loves to run and play with other dogs so acclimating with them should be no problem. She is also cat friendly. Utopia does well in the car and walks great on a leash. She's ready for adventure and a love that lasts forever! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX adoption only)

Story
Benji is a sweet little guy with a gentle soul. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but with a little patience, his loving personality quickly shines through. Before coming to the rescue, Benji lived life outdoors and had some hair loss, but now he’s on the mend—his scruffy coat is growing back in, and it just adds to his charm! He’s currently learning all the good stuff about being a spoiled house pup, like walking on a leash and discovering how amazing beds and toys can be. If you have a soft spot for scruffy, adorable boys and a heart for helping a pup continue to blossom, Benji is ready to find his forever home and be your loyal little companion Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $600 (includes transport to your area)

He enjoys playtime, exploration, and being part of a pack, all of which are helping prepare him for a smooth transition into a forever home. At night and during downtime, he shares space with other dogs and does well, showing a nice balance of independence while still enjoying companionship. Temperament & Personality Philip – Your Joyful, Smart, and Loving Companion Philip is a happy, energetic puppy with a bright personality and an even bigger heart. At just 6 months old, he’s already showing how intelligent and eager to learn he is—especially when treats are involved! His food motivation makes training fun, engaging, and highly rewarding. He’s incredibly social and thrives on connection. Philip loves being around people and other dogs, and he absolutely soaks up affection. If you’re looking for a dog who will happily accept endless pets and attention, Philip is your perfect match. Daily walks, playtime, and interaction help keep him balanced and content. With his curious nature and adaptability, he’s well on his way to becoming a wonderful lifelong companion. Philip’s Ideal Home Philip would thrive in a loving, active home where he’s included in daily life. As a young pup, he’ll benefit from regular exercise, play, and continued guidance as he grows. He would love a home with another friendly dog, as he enjoys companionship and learns well from other pups. However, he can also do well as the only dog as long as he receives plenty of attention and engagement. Philip is very people-oriented and happiest when he’s part of the action—whether that’s going for walks, playing, or simply cuddling close. A home committed to positive reinforcement training will help him continue to build confidence and good manners. Most importantly, he’s looking for a forever family who will love him, include him, and give him the stability every dog deserves. Rescue Story Philip was originally adopted by a young family when he was just 2 months old. Sadly, due to unexpected medical issues in the household, they were no longer able to keep a dog and reached out for help to ensure Philip’s safety. When he first arrived, Philip was unsure of the world and responded with fear—barking at new people and dogs because he didn’t yet understand how to feel safe. But he’s still a puppy—and that has made all the difference. With patience, structure, and love in his foster environment, Philip has begun to blossom. He’s learning to trust, gaining confidence, and showing more of his true, affectionate personality every day. Now, he’s ready for his next chapter—a forever home where he can continue growing into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. Location: Waiting in MexicoPhilip can travel to the US once a committed 10-day trial family is found Adoption Fee: $600 Apply to foster or adopt: www.northwestwagrescue.org Philip is ready to bring joy, love, and puppy energy into your life—could he be your perfect match? ##2701753##

Story
Meet Chanel Name: ChanelAge: 1 year, 3 monthsGender: FemaleWeight: 13 kg / 28 lbsBreed: Mixed Wire HairColor: Black Health Spayed Vaccinated Heartworm Negative   Personality & Behavior Good with dogs? Yes Good with kids? Yes Good with cats? No – she has a strong small-prey drive Resource guarding? No Vocal? Alert barker Shedding? Low to moderate – regular brushing recommended Energy Level? Medium–High (she’s still young!) Chanel’s scruffy wire coat and bright personality make her especially charming for wire-haired dog lovers. She may be a little shy at first when meeting new people, but give her just a few minutes and her confident, outgoing spirit shines through. She is vibrant, intelligent, naturally alert, and eager to learn. From her pack, Chanel has always been the most independent and secure, confidently engaging with other dogs and enjoying playtime. She forms strong bonds with her people and will be a devoted companion. She’s attentive to her surroundings and will let you know with a bark if something catches her attention.   Training & Adaptability ‍ Leash-trained? Yes Good in the car? Yes Potty-trained? She will adjust well to a new home with consistent routines and follow-up habits. Crate-trained? Yes (primarily for travel) When alone: Chanel has always lived with siblings or other dogs, either in foster care or boarding. She has not regularly been left completely alone but will separate herself when she wants quiet time. If she transitions into a home as an only dog, it’s recommended she not be left alone for extended periods initially. A 4–6 hour window is ideal while she adjusts and builds confidence in a new environment. Sleeping arrangements: She currently sleeps in a kennel area alongside her two siblings.   Activity & Lifestyle Chanel is agile, athletic, and has excellent stamina. She would thrive in a home that enjoys outdoor activities such as walks, hikes, and interactive play. Because she is clever and energetic, she will need a secure yard and consistent mental stimulation to prevent boredom. She loves staying engaged and learning new things — an active household will suit her perfectly.   Ideal Home Chanel will flourish in a home that offers: • Daily companionship and interaction• An active lifestyle• Mental stimulation and playtime• A secure environment• Possibly another playful dog companion She would also do well as a second dog, as she enjoys canine companionship. However, she can bond deeply with her humans and thrive as a solo dog with proper structure and activity. Chanel is loyal, social, and loving — ready to build a lifelong bond with her family.   Rescue Story Chanel’s story is one of patience, kindness, and perfect timing. At just two months old, Chanel and her two siblings were abandoned in a crate inside a residential complex in Guadalajara, Mexico in early 2025. Confused and vulnerable, the tiny puppies huddled together for comfort. A security guard noticed them and alerted a neighbor known for her love of dogs. Without hesitation, she stepped in and became their guardian angel, bringing them to safety and committing to their care. Rather than rushing them into adoption simply because they were cute puppies, they were given time to grow, heal, and properly develop. This thoughtful approach ensured they would find lasting homes — not impulse adoptions. Today, Chanel is ready for her forever chapter — a home where her journey of resilience, love, and hope continues.   Location: Mexico (waiting for a committed trial home) Adoption Fee: $600 Apply at: www.northwestwagrescue.org Chanel is ready to meet her forever family. ##2661926##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi.  My name is Lilly and I am a special girl.  I came to A Doggie 4 You as a feral girl in 2018.  I was trapped on the streets of San Antonio.   When I went to the vet they determined I had heartworms.  I thought I was a goner, but the nice people at the rescue treated me like I was part of a real family.  They treated my heartworms and now I don't have them anymore.  They even put me on a yearly heartworm preventative called ProHeart 12.  The people at the rescue didn't have a clue what my breed was, so they took my picture and ran it through something they call a program.  It said I am Berger Picard  81% and Scottish Terrier 12%.   I was a real little stinker when I got here.  You see I had never been  handled before and I didn't know what kindness was.  It's not easy living on the streets.  Not everyone is nice.  It took awhile, but I learned to trust the gang here at the rescue.  I love going to the play yard with all of my friends and playing.  We get to play twice a day in a large group of over 30 dogs.  The rest of the time I get to live with my doggie family.  I even learned to use a doggy door.  I let my foster momma groom me when my hair gets unruly.  I even tolerate the bath.   I am going to need a family that will go slow with me and let me get to know you.  I have a lot of love to give but I have trust issues.  If you would like to give a girl like me a good home, you can apply for  me at www.adoggie4you.org.  I was born around 05/30/2016 and I currently weigh 27.8 pounds.   I am only available in Texas.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2026, 4:48 pm
