Story
Meet Chanel Name: ChanelAge: 1 year, 3 monthsGender: FemaleWeight: 13 kg / 28 lbsBreed: Mixed Wire HairColor: Black Health Spayed Vaccinated Heartworm Negative   Personality & Behavior Good with dogs? Yes Good with kids? Yes Good with cats? No – she has a strong small-prey drive Resource guarding? No Vocal? Alert barker Shedding? Low to moderate – regular brushing recommended Energy Level? Medium–High (she’s still young!) Chanel’s scruffy wire coat and bright personality make her especially charming for wire-haired dog lovers. She may be a little shy at first when meeting new people, but give her just a few minutes and her confident, outgoing spirit shines through. She is vibrant, intelligent, naturally alert, and eager to learn. From her pack, Chanel has always been the most independent and secure, confidently engaging with other dogs and enjoying playtime. She forms strong bonds with her people and will be a devoted companion. She’s attentive to her surroundings and will let you know with a bark if something catches her attention.   Training & Adaptability ‍ Leash-trained? Yes Good in the car? Yes Potty-trained? She will adjust well to a new home with consistent routines and follow-up habits. Crate-trained? Yes (primarily for travel) When alone: Chanel has always lived with siblings or other dogs, either in foster care or boarding. She has not regularly been left completely alone but will separate herself when she wants quiet time. If she transitions into a home as an only dog, it’s recommended she not be left alone for extended periods initially. A 4–6 hour window is ideal while she adjusts and builds confidence in a new environment. Sleeping arrangements: She currently sleeps in a kennel area alongside her two siblings.   Activity & Lifestyle Chanel is agile, athletic, and has excellent stamina. She would thrive in a home that enjoys outdoor activities such as walks, hikes, and interactive play. Because she is clever and energetic, she will need a secure yard and consistent mental stimulation to prevent boredom. She loves staying engaged and learning new things — an active household will suit her perfectly.   Ideal Home Chanel will flourish in a home that offers: • Daily companionship and interaction• An active lifestyle• Mental stimulation and playtime• A secure environment• Possibly another playful dog companion She would also do well as a second dog, as she enjoys canine companionship. However, she can bond deeply with her humans and thrive as a solo dog with proper structure and activity. Chanel is loyal, social, and loving — ready to build a lifelong bond with her family.   Rescue Story Chanel’s story is one of patience, kindness, and perfect timing. At just two months old, Chanel and her two siblings were abandoned in a crate inside a residential complex in Guadalajara, Mexico in early 2025. Confused and vulnerable, the tiny puppies huddled together for comfort. A security guard noticed them and alerted a neighbor known for her love of dogs. Without hesitation, she stepped in and became their guardian angel, bringing them to safety and committing to their care. Rather than rushing them into adoption simply because they were cute puppies, they were given time to grow, heal, and properly develop. This thoughtful approach ensured they would find lasting homes — not impulse adoptions. Today, Chanel is ready for her forever chapter — a home where her journey of resilience, love, and hope continues.   Location: Mexico (waiting for a committed trial home) Adoption Fee: $600 Apply at: www.northwestwagrescue.org Chanel is ready to meet her forever family. ##2661926##

Story
Welcome Leader to CCPAL Rescue. Leader is a Cairn Terrier Mix. He is friendly with other dogs and came in with 2 other dogs. He came in with a pregnant momma dog and a male dog named Arty. Arty and Leader have play time and are kenneled together at the Rescue. Leader is 26 pounds and is about 2 years old. His teeth look clean so he won’t need a dental anytime soon. His coat wasn’t as pretty as it is now that he has been in the Rescue a couple of weeks. He is getting lots of daily attention and good nutrition. He is getting his DHPP vaccines and will get Rabies when neutered. He would be fine in a home with a moderately active family. He is sturdy enough to be a good walking companion. He will need brushing and maybe some grooming to have the tip top coat. He isn’t a big shedding dog. He is vocal but not over the top. I would call him an alert dog bark. He will alert you that something is different or someone different is here. He settles down nicely and is also able to be relaxed and chill. He would be able to go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is social and very happy. He is independent and not too clingy. He isn’t used to constant touching and attention and is fine relaxing by you and watching what you are doing. We would love this boy to have his very own forever home where he can get daily attention, walks and everything a loved dog gets. He was from an overcrowded situation….maybe a City Removal type case. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Story
Meet Mari! Mari is a female Cairn Terrier mix who can’t wait to find her new forever home. Weighing a petite18 lbs, Mari is gentle, sweet, and loving. She is approximately 5 years old. She is spayed, and up to date on her shots. Cairn Terriers are known for their charming, spirited, and bold personalities. Mari is both playful and affectionate. She is a good fit if you appreciate liveliness and snuggling.  She has plenty of energy and loves to play, making her a joy for families and active individuals.  Cairn Terriers are intelligent and can seem stubborn. She is smart and learns quickly. She can also be a bit independent-minded. Consistent training is key!  What makes Mari wonderful is her curious and adventurous attitude. Her inquisitive nature makes her a natural explorer. Mari is loyal and she likes to form strong bonds with her family.  She likes to stay close and always knows where home is. One of Mari’s favorite pastimes is a good snooze on cozy dog beds or comfy blankets.  She doesn’t mind sleeping with little disturbances in her own space. She can happily sleep in her own room and prefers her own bed.  Mari enjoys a good brushing, and it relaxes her instantly.   Despite Mari’s small size, she has a big, fearless attitude which is common in Cairn Terriers.   Mari is brave and confident. She often thinks of herself as much larger than she is. She’s good with other dogs in the dog park. However, she is known to dominate other dogs who look like her.  She also enjoys some time in front of the mirror and appreciates her reflection.  Because of Mari’s dominant nature, she is leash reactive.   She is fine with other dogs when her leash is not attached but will become more assertive if she is near another dog while on her leash.  Her leash reactivity needs work and she needs a competent handler who is motivated to help her learn. Mari loves tasty treats and will hold off on her scheduled meals in hopes of something worthy of her palate.  Mari does not have accidents inside. However, be watchful for the first five nights as she is sorting out her surroundings.   Mari is perfect for someone who enjoys an energetic, snuggly, and entertaining companion. Mari is not suitable for a home with smaller children. She likes her space at times and prefers a more calm setting. She is not suited for a home with cats or other small critters. Her adoption fee is $450   We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Story
Cinnamon is a happy, playful, affectionate young pup who loves spending time with other dogs. Her favorite things are playing with canine friends, going for walks, and cuddling afterward. She is shy with new people at first, but once she warms up she is very sweet. She is still a puppy, so she needs a home that can give her daily exercise, companionship, and continued training.Cinnamon would do great in a home with other dogs or with people who enjoy getting out for a walk each day and will not leave her alone for long periods.Cinnamon is also a climber and can scale most fences, so she needs a secure space and no balconies for her safety. To visit Cinnamon's personal webpage copy and paste this link into your browser: https://hope4lapawz.org/wp1/cinnamon-2026022DShe was originally picked up for sterilization and was meant to return to the street, but a kind woman found her a foster. When that home was not the right fit, she came into our care and has been blossoming ever since. This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.
