Story
History: Loxley is a beautiful girl who needed a second chance at a good life. She quickly wriggled her way into our hearts with how sweet and loving she is and she would make a great addition to a lucky home of her own soon! A Note from the Foster: Meet Loxley… This sweet 7-year-old breeder release girl is truly one of a kind. She is hands-down the easiest and most loving breeder release I’ve ever fostered, and she’s blossoming more every day as she enjoys the good life she always deserved. Loxley is doing great with potty training and is almost fully trained. She sleeps quietly in her kennel through the night and has a calm, gentle presence that makes her a joy to have around. She has quickly learned to appreciate the simple pleasures—a full belly, soft beds, cozy naps, toys, and plenty of affection. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and is wonderful with children and adults alike. Her sweet, easygoing nature makes her a perfect fit for many types of homes, whether you’re looking for a loyal companion or a loving family dog. Loxley is ready to leave her past behind and start her next chapter with a family who will cherish her. She will make a truly wonderful addition to a very lucky home.

Story
History: Razz is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Meet Razz (aka Raspberry, Razzieboo, Booberry, BooBoo Baby) This little man is as sweet as a juicy berry. He’s happiest near his people. His foster mom works from home and he’s perfectly content laying in her lap all day. Razz is doing great learning puppy manners and potty training is going smoothly. Razz sleeps in a kennel all night without a peep and always keeps it clean. razz’s ears have a mind of their own and always flip backwards . It’s especially cute watching him run down the hall, ears a flapping! His favorite pastime is stealing shoes and dish towels. He runs with his short little legs and brings them to his kennel, so proud of his stash! Razz is great with kids and other dogs. He hasn’t been introduced to cats but we think he’d do great with them as well. Razz just has the funniest little personality and is excited to meet you!

These pups are in Edina, Minnesota too!

Story
Elliana They gave me a fancy name at last! Can you believe it? I have been used as a breeder dog for years and years and then dumped at the local pound with a mammary gland tumor that you could play tennis with!! Who does that!!! At least that is what my foster mom thinks my life has been like. I sat there in a cage at animal control for 4 weeks before anyone would think about pulling me out of there but my foster mom said that she had to take me home so that I would have a chance to be a beloved pet before I die. Not that I am planning to do that anytime soon, but you never know. Anyhow, I went to the vet right away and had that big nasty thing taken off my stomach and the vets knew right away what it was and what it was from. They took out the baby making bits as well, so I won’t have to go through having my babies and then losing them right away to being just a baby and money making factory for somebody. Sheesh….get a job!! I have some issues, I won’t lie, but I am starting to kind of get used to being out of a cage, where I learned to circle around and around as there wasn’t a lot of space in those things. I can walk in a straight line and the more I get time outside, the more I am enjoying the fresh air and smells in the grass. I will revert to circles when I am nervous but Rome wasn’t built in a day and I have only had freedom for a couple of months now. I don’t have many teeth, as the ones I did have were rotted and broken from trying to eat the bars I suppose. I startle easily from the lack of being held and loved in my former life, and will try to “gum” you if I pick me up too quickly. But speaking to me and touching me before you pick me up will let me know you are there and going to be gentle with me. I am still getting used to the being held part, and sometimes can’t tolerate it very long, but I am learning and going slow is really helpful to me. I am learning what good food tastes like, and what a soft bed feels like, and while I have pretty limited vision to see things, I can follow my nose and it helps me to find everything I need to get around. Foster mom leaves me a puppy pad to potty on in the house if I have to go at night, and I am pretty good at using it. It took a while to figure out that is what it was for, but also, if I potty outside after meals, I am good if I keep to a schedule. So that is my story. If you are interested in giving a blind old lady a soft landing for the rest of my life, let me know. Local adoption in Texas only please.

Story
Me me me me meeeeeee!!!!!! What? Oh. My foster mom says that is NOT how to spell my name. It is spelled “MiMi" which sounds the same but who cares how it is spelled. I am a vintage model of a little poodle and I was a much loved member of the family at one time. Not to say that I am spoiled or anything but I know what I want when I want it! So it really is all about me! I adore being around my people and love being held. I will make little whimpering noises if you are there and I think I haven’t had enough lap time and look at you with my puppy dog eyes so that you feel guilty and pick me up where I want to be. I am a healthy 14 year old poodle who is scheduled for spay and teeth cleaning on Jan. 5th and then will be able to go to my new home after that. I use a potty pad when I am sleeping on the floor, but my foster mom puts a diaper on me when I sleep on your bed because I am not too keen about jumping off the bed. So when I have to potty, if I am on the bed, sometimes I will potty the bed. But the diaper takes care of that. I am a whopping 10 pounds and do walk pretty well of a leash as long as you don’t walk too fast. I am housebroken if you take me out on a schedule. Adoption fee in Texas is $200 Out of State fee with transport and fuel surcharge is $450.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Honolulu is a tiny, trembling little puff of poodle who is working incredibly hard at being brave in a world that still feels very big and very loud. She’s the kind of dog who watches life from a safe perch—usually the couch—like a quiet spectator trying to learn the rules of a game everyone else already knows. Under her soft curls is a tender heart that desperately wants to trust, but needs time, calm, and consistency before she can take those steps. Right now, Honolulu is a professional observer. She spends most of her day lying in one cozy spot, taking careful notes on the household’s comings and goings. She likes other polite, gentle dogs who don’t invade her personal bubble—bonus points if they’re calm and confident, the kind who can show her that the world isn’t nearly as scary as it seems. Loud noises, sudden movement, busy environments, or any hint of commotion send her scurrying for safety, so her perfect home will be peaceful, predictable, and very patient. Because she is lightning-fast and an escape artist of Olympic caliber, she requires a fully secure 6-foot fenced yard, double leashing, and extremely careful handling. She has slipped out of harnesses and collars before, so her adopter must truly understand the seriousness of keeping her safe. She freezes on leash and is not yet comfortable walking, so yard time is currently her best way to get fresh air. Despite her fears, Honolulu has shown glimmers of what she may become someday. With the right dog buddy by her side, she quietly relaxes a bit. She eats only when no one is watching, so her foster family kindly gives her privacy at mealtimes. She is crate trained, quiet, gentle, and completely non-destructive. And when the home is calm and the pressure is low, she settles into her favorite activity: quietly lounging on the couch, taking comfort in being near—even if not touching—her people. Honolulu isn’t ready to be a typical lap dog, and she may never be the outgoing, social butterfly that some poodles are. But she does want to learn. You can see it in the way she watches other dogs, the way she edges a tiny bit closer each week, the way her tail relaxes when she feels safe. She is trying, in her own delicate way. Her adopter will need patience, gentleness, and a realistic understanding that progress may be slow—and that’s okay. Honolulu doesn’t need perfection. She needs safety. She needs calm. She needs another small, steady dog friend. And she needs someone who sees her not as a project, but as a quiet, sensitive soul who has survived a lot and deserves to bloom at her own pace. If your home is peaceful, your heart is gentle, and you have the time and dedication to help a scared little dog discover life’s softer side, Honolulu might one day trust you enough to show you the tiniest wag of her tail. And in her world, that would be a victory worth celebrating. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
