Weighing around 15 pounds and estimated to be about 3 and a half years old, Bitsy is soaking up the comfort of a calm, safe home—something she may be experiencing for the first time. She’s incredibly well-mannered and has had perfect potty habits from the start, always going outside when carried to the yard. While she’s still gaining confidence, Bitsy is already showing signs of trust, happily resting in her cozy bed and allowing gentle handling, even during bath time. She’s not quite sure what to make of toys or treats just yet, but every day she’s learning and observing. Bitsy gets along with calm, respectful dogs, though she would likely prefer a peaceful home where she can be the center of someone’s quiet world or share space with a gentle canine companion. She hasn’t had much experience with leashes or exploring new environments, so a fenced yard is a must while she continues to build confidence. What Bitsy lacks in boldness, she makes up for in sweetness. She’s a soft, soulful girl who is ready to bond with someone patient and loving. She’s the kind of dog who watches life from a safe perch—usually the couch—like a quiet spectator trying to learn the rules of a game everyone else already knows. Under her soft curls is a tender heart that desperately wants to trust, but needs time, calm, and consistency before she can take those steps. Right now, Honolulu is a professional observer. She spends most of her day lying in one cozy spot, taking careful notes on the household’s comings and goings. She likes other polite, gentle dogs who don’t invade her personal bubble—bonus points if they’re calm and confident, the kind who can show her that the world isn’t nearly as scary as it seems. Loud noises, sudden movement, busy environments, or any hint of commotion send her scurrying for safety, so her perfect home will be peaceful, predictable, and very patient. Because she is lightning-fast and an escape artist of Olympic caliber, she requires a fully secure 6-foot fenced yard, double leashing, and extremely careful handling. She has slipped out of harnesses and collars before, so her adopter must truly understand the seriousness of keeping her safe. She freezes on leash and is not yet comfortable walking, so yard time is currently her best way to get fresh air. Despite her fears, Honolulu has shown glimmers of what she may become someday. With the right dog buddy by her side, she quietly relaxes a bit. She eats only when no one is watching, so her foster family kindly gives her privacy at mealtimes. She is crate trained, quiet, gentle, and completely non-destructive. She’ll curl into your arms, gaze at you with pure love, and shower you with excited little kisses—then bounce off to chase a toy, play with dogs of any size, or proudly parade around with a bone in her mouth. She’s always ready for fun, whether it’s fetch, exploring the yard, or chewing on her favorite toys. This smart girl already knows sit and is picking up potty training quickly with a consistent schedule. She keeps her kennel clean and is learning that it’s a safe and cozy place to nap and enjoy her meals. She may protest a bit when first going in, so a home without shared walls is best, but she settles down much faster now—especially after a good play session or walk and with a chew to keep her busy. Elodie would thrive with an active family who loves walks, hikes, and maybe even wants a future running buddy. She loves praise and beams with pride when she does her business outside—she’ll even trot back to you and gently hop against your leg for a belly rub and a “good girl!” Like many puppies, she’s still learning what’s OK to chew. She’s been known to nibble on shoes (so tuck your favorites away!), and she may mouth tiny kid fingers, but she’s redirecting well and improving every day. She hasn’t chewed anything else she shouldn’t and is wonderfully food-motivated, which makes training fun and easy. If you’re looking for a loving, bright, active puppy who will adore you endlessly, Elodie is your girl I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours.
