Forever foster or adopter wanted! Pepper joined us from OC Animal care and was heavily neglected. He had an ulcerated mass removed, had spiders and other insects crawling out of his matted fur during grooming, and has dry eye. He has a few other masses, we are evaluating whether one large one can be removed. Due to his age and medical condition we are seeking a FORVER FOSTER for him in San Diego or Orange County. Story
Chrome entered Riverside Department of Animal Services as a stray, and sadly, no one came to claim him. He is estimated to be 10 years old, weighs 12.4 lbs., and is very sweet. He loves pets and snuggles and is great with other dogs and cats, too. This cutie pie is a gem! Chrome went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn more about him while he received lots of TLC in the comfort of a home. Here's what we learned from his foster family: "Chrome is very mellow all the time. He is friendly and comes up to strangers to ask for pets. He loves couch cuddles. We have a cat, and he had absolutely zero issues with it. He doesn't follow the cat or try to chase it. He also isn't interested in the litter boxes at all. Chrome enjoys walks around the block and is a pretty fast walker despite his past back leg injury. During walks, he passes other dogs without needing to stop and say hello. He never barks when other dogs are barking. When he gets tired, he loves to hang out in the stroller. A day in the life with Chrome was eating breakfast and going on a walk around the block. Coming back to nap and hang out for the day with a few walks in between. Finish the day with a good bowl of dinner and some couch cuddles before bedtime. He sleeps throughout the night without needing to go out." If you’re looking for a calm, loving, and easygoing best friend, Chrome might just be your perfect match! Lady Fianna arrived at South LA Shelter as a stray, though staff believed the person who brought her in may have been her owner. Lady was so scared when she arrived at the shelter that she wouldn’t move, but soon she was accepting pets and playing! We welcomed her as a Frosted Face on March 17th. Lady is around 8 years old and weighs 19 pounds. We’re just getting to know this resilient cutie and will share more about her as she settles in. Stay tuned for updates! 7-year-old Chiquita became a Frosted Face after her elderly owners’ health declined, making it no longer possible for them to care for her. Their granddaughter reached out for help through our Final Wish Program, sharing "Chiquita is my grandparents’ whole heart." Chiquita went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn more about her in a home environment. Her foster mom shares: "Chiquita is a great catch - here's why: * She will love you with those eyes and her cuddles all day long. * She is GORGEOUS! * She never has an accident. * She sleeps through the night on your bed and can jump up and down on her own. * She loves her toys. * She is a great walker. * She is hypo-allergenic based upon my experience. he snuggles with me while I work/read/knit etc. * She sleeps through the night at my feet. * She eats like a champ. * She snuggles with me while I work, read, and knit." Sweet Falco was surrendered to San Jacinto Valley Animal Shelter after his beloved owner passed away. With no one left to care for him, this tiny senior found himself scared and confused in a shelter kennel. We welcomed Falco as a Frosted Face on February 20th. He is 13 years old and weighs 18 lbs.
