Story
Toby 9 years old Neutered male Yorkshire Terrier This balding beauty goes by the name Toby. This distinguished older gent loves to be around his people and shows them tons of love but doesn`t show the same enthusiasm to those outside of his circle. Toby is looking for an adopter who is committed to training and working with him to change his feelings about strangers. Toby says no thanks to living with dogs, but may be able to live with a cat after a slow introduction. If you`d like to learn more about Toby and his big personality, come in during open hours to learn more. If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog that’s a good match! To learn more about how to make the first few weeks with your new dog or puppy the most successful it can be, please visit www.mspca.org/petresources. For more information on our adoption process, please visit https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/ Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they’re interested in - and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.PLEASE READ THIS BIO!   This handsome fella is Romeo a 12-pound male who recently celebrated his third birthday.   He is very energetic and his ideal home would have a playmate.  At a minimum he would need an active owner or a day or two a week in doggy day care.  .    He is cautious when he first meets you but will be on your lap in minutes!  He is a sweet, affectionate, happy little guy who loves to be with you (snuggling on your lap or next to you).    He loves attention and has no qualms about climbing over or onto other dogs to get some love from his human.    He will not be placed with a senior pup.  He is presently being fostered with a couple senior pups and they have no interest in playing and he is constantly bothering them. Romeo is fast and an escape artist, a secure fenced in yard is a plus, but not a deal breaker if proper measures are in place to prevent him from running out the door.  Romeo needs a quiet home and is not a candidate for a home with young children.  Fast movements/loud noises and chaos make him nervous. Like most Yorkies, Romeo can be a little barky.  A large apartment complex would not be a good fit with all the comings and goings, a duplex etc could be a better fit. If you have applied previously, just shoot us an email, no need to reapply. Romeo is: 3 Years old Good with other small dogs  Good in the Car Good on Leash Very Active Romeo needs to be professionally groomed every 7 weeks.  Please consider this when applying to adopt.  List your groomer as one of your references. Adoption Fee:  $500 Apply ONLY at www.paw-affectionrescue.org  EMAIL:  pawaffectionrescue@gmail.com For questions that are not answered in this bio, please feel free to email or call: 5089473667    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 18, 2024, 4:05 pm
