Story
MEET KING! - I am in a foster home, please contact the shelter to meet me!Have you lost your shadow? Look no further…this sweet senior gent will follow you everywhere! They call me King because I love to be treated like one. My foster mom says that I am a sweet old soul that deserves to have a quiet and calm loving household that will treat me like the King I am. As a Yorkie, I absolutely want to be around my person all the time. It is my favorite activity to sit and watch whatever you are doing anytime of the day or going with you on errands. I would do best in a standalone home (no apartments!) where somebody is home often to give me the attention and comfort I need. My second favorite activity is for you to groom me and pet me. I will even roll over so you can give me the best belly rubs. I also love going on short walks outside and will gladly put on my little sweater outfits that make me look so dapper! I am the best boy because I am house-trained and will let you know when it’s time for me to do my business outside. I love my doggie bed and blankets but I’m always happy to cuddle in your lap too. Since I am a small and older gent, stairs are not ideal and if you have them I will need to be carried in your arms up and down them. I have seen cats and don’t seem to mind them, but I do get very excited when I see dogs so it’s best that I avoid them and stay with humans. If you are looking for a little king to brighten up your kingdom, and make you smile every day, then I am the perfect fit for you! King is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and been seen by our vet team. For more information on King or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements. Story
Tito is an energetic and loving Yorkie who turned 2 January 23, 2024. Our schedules just do not allow for him to get enough play time/attention so he spends too much time in his indoor play pen. He is very intelligent, but because he has to spend long periods at home without being taken out he will need to be trained. He was pad trained indoors due to this. We want him to run free and have someone who allows him to run around the house and be loved.

Story
This little princess is aptly named Jewel. What a doll! She was born 4/17/23. She is up to date on vaccinations and ready to bring snuggly magic to your life. Her adoption donation is $1200 and the transport fee $165.00. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Yaya has been a joy since the first day we received her. She’s full of spunk and loves to be loved on! She specifically enjoys rolling on her back and receiving belly rubs. No one believes Yaya’s age (14) whenever they’re told, because of her fun and contagious energy, they believe she’s still a puppy! Most importantly, Yaya’s love is unconditional. She’s so sweet. Unfortunately, Yaya was recently diagnosed with Collapsing Trachea and Pasturella. We now have an infant and are unable to care for Yaya or keep up with her medical needs. Yaya’s condition is manageable.
