Story
Meet Gina, a precious 8 year old, 9 pound Yorkie girl being fostered in Kyle, TX. Only Texas applicants will be considered. Pupdate: Miss Gina is doing well here. She is an absolute sweetheart and very well mannered in the house. She is finally able to be around my best friends dog, but it took several weeks of interaction. We, however feel that Gina will do best as the only pet in the home. She LOVES her daily walks. We walk 1-2 times a day, up to about 1/2-2/3 of a mile each time. Due to her never being socialized she does react to other animals and some people by barking, but her walks are the best way to introduce her to something she was not given. We do feel over time, she will know that this will be just a normal situation. Gina has also decided that the Halloween decor is not her friend too LOL!! If her furever family decides no walks, that's ok too, as long as she has a yard to play in! She loves to go out in the backyard and chase squirrels and lizards, so a home with a fenced yard is a priority. Inside she's super sweet. If I leave the large living area, she is right on my heels...all the way into the bathroom! She's so quiet inside that I hung some bells on her collar so that I know where she is! Gina loves to be petted and scratched and lays right next to you. Gina is learning everything about being with humans, you can tell she had such a sad life prior without much human interaction. At bedtime I let her snuggle in bed, then she leaves to go in her crate because she gets very anxious in the evenings. She has recently started some meds for that and is doing much better. She needs to be with someone who is home most of the day and can let her in and out as needed and give her the attention she never had growing up. She really is such a sweetheart! Gina is doing so well! She is spayed and had a dental cleaning and they had to remove 3 more teeth, but she still has most of her teeth. She has done amazingly well on a mostly carnivore diet here. Her hair has stopped falling out and she has gained some weight! She does have a little heart murmur that may require medication in the future. This girl LOVES her daily walks. She actually jumps and dances when it's time to go out, lol. She will initially bark (a lot) at new people, but after she's been allowed to sniff them, she loves them. She does well with older kids, but she hasn't been around any young ones. She is definitely an alpha female and it appears that she had to fight for everything where she came from. I believe she may have been abused. She only barks when there are new people or other animals in her sight. She does not care for other dogs and will need to be an only pet. She will watch you eat, but will not whine or beg for food. If you leave the room, she will follow you. She loves being petted and scratched. She would prefer to sleep with you, but will sleep in her crate without any problems. I think she would be best with someone who is retired, or home most of the time. I also think she's a little hard of hearing. Gina is the name she came into the shelter with, so I didn't change it. I do, however, call her Gina, Gigi, Miss G, or Pretty Girl.

Story
Meet Eggnog! ❄️🍬🐾 This sweet little 1-year-old Yorkie weighs just 8.4 pounds and is full of love and snuggles. With her soft white coat and gentle personality, Eggnog is a calm, affectionate cuddle bug who melts under head scritches and enjoys every bit of attention you give. 🐶💖Eggnog has tested heartworm positive, which means she has a parasite that can be treated with medication. It’s easily manageable, and she just needs a calm, steady environment to complete her treatment—something we can’t provide here at the shelter. If you’re interested, a front desk representative can share all the safe and effective treatment options available. With the right care, Eggnog will continue being her sweet, loving self. ✨🤍If you’re looking for a tiny, gentle companion who is ready to give endless cuddles and love, come meet Eggnog—she’s waiting for someone special to take her home and help her thrive! 🌟🐾I have tested heartworm positive. This means I have a parasite and need treatment. While my friends at HSNBA desperately want to help me, the shelter is too stressful an environment to undertake treatment and treatment itself is very expensive. The shelter has a few options to help with treatment, and if I steal your heart you should talk with them and your vet about what my treatment is like. For more information on heartworms, please visit the American Heartworm Society here https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basicsHSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight. Story
Goldie is a very sweet  8 year old Yorkie who was surrenered when her human became too ill to care for her.  She has only one eye but has a very fashionable haircut so you don't even notice.  She is still very spry and has a lot of energy but is very scared and confused right now.  She will do best in a quieter home without children.  Her foster mom says she is very independent and not at all insistant.  Her personality is slowly beginning to emerge.  She is very low maintenance.  To meet her, please fill out an adoption application.  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/57447/generic ##2596279##
