Story
Petey is a fun-loving boy who is great with every person he has met, young and old. He might be okay around other dogs, but he's selective. He walks well on leash, until he sees a rabbit, squirrel or cat, but he would easily adjust to a no-pull harness. He loves to get belly rubs!

**URGENT! The shelter is out of kennel space and over capacity. They need dogs to exit immediately to make space ** THE MORENO VALLEY SHELTER NEEDS ADOPTERS NOW. NO MORE SPACE! WE ARE COURTESY POSTING THIS DOG FOR THE MORENO VALLEY ANIMAL SHELTER TO HELP THEM FIND A HOME. The shelter is severely overcrowded with low adoptions in that area. More dogs are being turned in faster and in higher numbers than the shelter can accommodate. We are helping get the word out of their immediate need. Please do not this deserving dog perish - it becomes life or death when kennel space is needed. Please be their hero! This beautiful dog is located in the Moreno Valley shelter. Please feel free to reach out to us with questions. ABRAHAM #A529038 I am described as a male, brown brindle and white Akita and Collie - Rough. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years old. I weigh approximately 69.00 lbs. STAFF NOTES: 10/25/23 Nice boy. Took out of his kennel to do a dog to dog temp test. He was easy to leash and sweet with the handler offering light kisses. The female came in the yard stiff, hackles up and focused. They sniffed for a moment and then she lunged at him. He did not react to her. It all happened very quickly. We believe he is dog friendly but there wasn't enough time to really gage him as she went after him so quickly. 10/28/23 had large mats on his tail and behind his ears. He allowed me to shave those areas while in the play yard without issues. He just gently chewed on a small squeaker toy without squeaking it. Nice boy. Took for a walk too and he did well. Easy to leash and walks close, no pulling. Did well walking by the other dogs. Sammy IS AVAILALBE (updated 12-05-2023).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Sammy, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22667&name=SammySammy was found wandering alone, wearing a black harness attached to a white leash. People had previously seen him being walked by an elderly man near Del High Park, but no one could find that gentleman and Sammy was taken to the shelter. He was checked in, given an impound number of #A1818905, and sat there waiting for his family to find him. His time was running out, no one came for him, and the shelter had now given him a euthanasia date. We rescued Sammy and put up signs in the area in which he was found, hoping his owner would see them, but no one has responded. This super fluffy guy with the biscuit paws is thought to be around 4-5 years old and isnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t a high maintenance diva. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s been through so much already and we would love to be able to let him adjust inside a wonderful foster (or adoptive) home. Right now, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153d do best as the only dog.The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.December 5, 2023, 6:05 am

Story
Nala is a purebred akita. She has been rehomed now 4 times now so i’m trying to find her a forever home. She’s very sweet and has tons of energy. Would prefer her to move into a home with a backyard, but has been an apartment dog so if needed. She may do better either being an only dog or in a home with a younger dog than her. She comes with a crate, her bowl, some toys, and her leash.

These pups are in Chula Vista, California too!
