Story
Simba has spent too long waiting for his forever family. 💔 This strong and spirited Akita-Husky mix is full of energy, loves his toys, and is happiest on long walks or playing with his human. He’s sweet, loyal, and ready for the right home. If you’re looking for a dog with personality and heart, Simba is waiting to meet you! 🐕 Adopt Simba: https://form.jotform.com/221926016430144 Full profile: Simba is a 6-8-year-old Akita-Husky mix with the personality of an Akita and the heart of a lion. He’s playful, sweet, and full of energy but needs a confident and strong adopter who understands his needs. 💪 Strength & Training: Simba is powerful and can pull when excited, so he needs someone physically capable of managing his strength. He’s learning commands like sit, down, paw, and “potty” and thrives with structure. A harness might help with his pulling. 🐾 Energy & Personality: Simba is not always a couch potato! He loves long walks (2+ miles is no problem), playing with his toys, and getting plenty of attention. He’s affectionate and cuddly but always ready for adventure. 🏡 Home Needs: Simba would do best in a home without small children due to his strength and energy. He’s good with other dogs, especially more timid ones, but does best with boundaries around toys and space. He’s also quite the counter-surfer, so keeping things out of reach is key! 🐕 Health: Simba has a thyroid condition that is managed with treatment, giving him renewed energy and playfulness. Simba has had a lot of love and care from his foster, but he’s ready to find his forever home. If you’re looking for a strong, loyal, and playful companion, Simba could be your perfect match. 💙 Ready to meet Simba? Apply to adopt him and give this big-hearted boy the home he deserves. 📌 Share to help Simba find his forever home Currently being cared in Southern California, but can be transported up to northern states, such as Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and anywhere within the US continental, if a great suitable family is willing to adopt him.

Story
Kito reminds us of those popular dog toys, the Squishmallow's. No one told him he was an Akita and is supposed to be stoic, protective and scary. He is ALL wiggles, smiles and LOVES his volunteers and rescue teams. The world outside is still kind of scary but with each event hes getting better and better. Before he would frantically spin the entire walk, but now he will patiantly sit on the grass at our Point Loma event or on a Pack Walk. True to any large dog, he doesn't know hes massive and anyone sitting on the grass is bound to have a Kito as a lap warmer. He loves hugs, brushes and being told how darn good looking he is. He is quite large, so he will need someone strong and well grounded to walk him in the event something spooks him unexpectedly. Although he's never met a person he didn't like, due to size, we are saying no kids under the age of 15, he's just WAY too goofy and tall. Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  No off leash activites for life in unfenced areas.  I need to stay safe.To adopt: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/37765/genericTo foster: https://petstablished.com/foster_form/37764/genericEmail: awayhomefordogs@gmail.com ##1305366##

Story
Bonjour! I’m Pierre! Yes, the Pierre. Big in size, big in charm, and absolutely obsessed with treats. Got one? I’ll sit, lay and maybe even do that fancy little bow I’ve been perfecting. I live for applause. And snacks. Mostly snacks. I love being pet, scratch behind my ears and I might melt into a puddle of pure happiness. I’ll nudge your hand if you stop too soon. (Spoiler: it’s always too soon.) And running? Oh, oui oui! Fast, slow, trails or sidewalks.. if you’re going, I’m already two steps ahead with my tail wagging like a metronome on espresso. There’s nothing like the wind in my fur and the world zooming by. So if you’re looking for a clever big guy with big energy and an even bigger heart — c’est moi, Pierre.

Story
How this pet arrived: Kuma was brought in by a field service officer on November 25, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Kuma! Kuma is a dignified pup searching for a family who will appreciate his gentle nature and loyal heart. We're still getting to know him, but he's already shown us what a genuinely sweet and handsome boy he is. Kuma loves nothing more than treats, gentle pets (once he gets to know you, of course), and the company of his favorite people - once he decides you're in his circle, he's all in with soft eyes and quiet affection. Kuma does best with thoughtful outings and a calm environment. He can be a bit reactive on leash when he sees other dogs, so his future family should plan on walks during quieter times of day and choose paths with fewer canine passersby. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and awareness of his surroundings, he'll feel more comfortable and confident during his adventures. He would love a family that appreciates his loyal nature and is ready to provide structure, patience, and plenty of care. If you're looking for a devoted companion who enjoys both cozy evenings and peaceful strolls, Kuma might be the perfect match. Make sure to bring a leash and collar and come meet him today! At SDHS:Kuma has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Kuma is now ready for his new home! Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 97.4 Age: 4yrs 0mths 0wks

Imagine a life with a serene and gentle snow dog? Meet our lovely 2yr old laid-back girl Luna🌙. She and her 2 puppies needed rescue so we stepped up, she deserves a life of luxury and is ready for her forever home🏡 . She might be best as an only dog cuz she truly thinks she is a princess👑 but never rule out a sibling. She's a bigger girl weighing in at 62lbs but she wears it well. She's truly an awesome choice and she's waiting to hear from you! She's chipped, vaccinated and spayed so look into that sweet face and get your application in ASAP cuz she's excited to meet you!!😻🤠 Currently being cared for in Southern California, Luna can be transported to northern states such as Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, or other locations within the continental United States, where a loving family awaits to welcome the sweet girl.
