Sammy IS AVAILALBE (updated 04-24-2024).To meet any of our dogs you must first complete our online adoption application on our website. For more information and the adoption application for Sammy, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22667&name=SammySammy was found wandering alone, wearing a black harness attached to a white leash. People had previously seen him being walked by an elderly man near Del High Park, but no one could find that gentleman and Sammy was taken to the shelter. He was checked in, given an impound number of #A1818905, and sat there waiting for his family to find him. His time was running out, no one came for him, and the shelter had now given him a euthanasia date. We rescued Sammy and put up signs in the area in which he was found, hoping his owner would see them, but no one has responded. This super fluffy guy with the biscuit paws is thought to be around 4-5 years old and isnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t a high maintenance diva. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s been through so much already and we would love to be able to let him adjust inside a wonderful foster (or adoptive) home. Right now, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153d do best as the only dog.The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.April 24, 2024, 6:14 am

Story
Nala is a purebred akita. She has been rehomed now 4 times now so i’m trying to find her a forever home. She’s very sweet and has tons of energy. Would prefer her to move into a home with a backyard, but has been an apartment dog so if needed. She may do better either being an only dog or in a home with a younger dog than her. She comes with a crate, her bowl, some toys, and her leash.

*This is a courtesy listing.* Meet Dorian! Dorian is looking for his forever home!! He's the silliest Akita Inu mix, and he's as loyal and loving as they come. He is extremely handsome and the sweetest, most easy going guy. Dorian is crate trained, potty trained, and knows several commands. He can be nervous around strangers, but once he knows you, he loves you for life! Dorian is dog friendly, and he is an absolute goofball when he plays. Dorian loves to go for walks (cue the happy hops) and crash for a nap next to his person. He would be fantastic with a person with Akita experience or someone who understands/has researched the breed. Dorian is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and currently on flea tick and heartworm medication. Overall. he's in good health, and we believe he is around 6-7 years old and weighs 80 lbs. We recently did his DNA test with Embark, and he is an Akita Inu, American Akita, Pittie mix. Dorian is available through Grandma Betty's Animal Rescue. If you are interested in meeting this special boy, you may: - Contact his foster mom Megan at (858) 699-4219 - Email the rescue at adoptions@grandmabettysanimalrescue.com - Or fill out an adoption application on their website: grandmabettysanimalrescue.com *Frosted Faces Foundation has not assessed this dog medically or behaviorally.*

Story
Husky mix Neutered Male 5 years old 67 pounds Roscoe is a beloved 5 year old male husky mix. He belonged to my father in a pack of 5 huskies. My father passed away on 8/8/23 and I’ve been keeping his huskies for him. I have adopted out four of the huskies, with Roscoe being the last of the group. He’s been living with me since my father’s passing. With a heavy heart, I know it’s time to move Roscoe on to a family that can care for him the way that he deserves. Roscoe is a blend of malamute calmness and the infamous husky energy. He’s a workhorse, we like to walk him with a backpack on so he can fulfill his desire to work every day. He’s a friendly dog who likes to jump on people. He is a good sport for baths and I’m able to bathe him weekly. He’s very quiet. I’ve never heard him bark and have only seen him howl when my other husky starts a howl. Roscoe is non-confrontational with other dogs and is not dominant at all. He occasionally gets into arguments with my other husky but will always try to diffuse the situation. He likes to chill on the coach when we aren’t out walking. He’s not formally trained but he hasn’t had any accidents indoors and he knows his ‘sit’ command. He also learns very quickly, I taught him ‘go crate’ in a matter of days and he always listens to it now. He loves to be in his crate as well and will relax in it even if the door is open. He respects the baby gates I keep in the house since I have to protect my cat from the two huskies. He has so much love to give to someone who is up for training a loyal, friendly and gentle giant of 67 pounds and endless ounces of love to give. If you are interested in adopting Roscoe, please contact Amber @siamjetlove@gmail.com *PLEASE NOTE: This animal is listed as a courtesy for another organization or private party. This pet has not been evaluated medically or behaviorally by Rancho Coastal Humane Society and is not in our care. Please be sure to contact the foster/caretaker listed in the post for more information. Courtesy Listings are private adoptions and not processed through Rancho Coastal Humane Society.

Story
Bleu is a sweet girl who turns 3 in July. She has lived in 4 homes in her short life and now needs a forever home with someone who is willing to take her for long walks/runs and to the dog park as she loves playing with other pups. She gets along well with kids, follows basic commands, easygoing and loves being with her people. She’s a Husky with energy and needs a home with a yard. She has separation anxiety so that needs to be worked on. I have found leaving our slider open when we leave works best. That way she can go in and out. If she’s left outside she jumps on windows trying to get in and bark and if left inside she may pee and poop to show her displeasure at you leaving and food should be put away and off counters. When you’re home she doesn’t show interest in food on counters. She’s the sweetest girl who needs a family who’s active and will give her a permanent home.
