Story
Simba has spent too long waiting for his forever family. 💔 This strong and spirited Akita-Husky mix is full of energy, loves his toys, and is happiest on long walks or playing with his human. He’s sweet, loyal, and ready for the right home. If you’re looking for a dog with personality and heart, Simba is waiting to meet you! 🐕 Adopt Simba: https://form.jotform.com/221926016430144 Full profile: Simba is a 6-8-year-old Akita-Husky mix with the personality of an Akita and the heart of a lion. He’s playful, sweet, and full of energy but needs a confident and strong adopter who understands his needs. 💪 Strength & Training: Simba is powerful and can pull when excited, so he needs someone physically capable of managing his strength. He’s learning commands like sit, down, paw, and “potty” and thrives with structure. A harness might help with his pulling. 🐾 Energy & Personality: Simba is not always a couch potato! He loves long walks (2+ miles is no problem), playing with his toys, and getting plenty of attention. He’s affectionate and cuddly but always ready for adventure. 🏡 Home Needs: Simba would do best in a home without small children due to his strength and energy. He’s good with other dogs, especially more timid ones, but does best with boundaries around toys and space. He’s also quite the counter-surfer, so keeping things out of reach is key! 🐕 Health: Simba has a thyroid condition that is managed with treatment, giving him renewed energy and playfulness. Simba has had a lot of love and care from his foster, but he’s ready to find his forever home. If you’re looking for a strong, loyal, and playful companion, Simba could be your perfect match. 💙 Ready to meet Simba? Apply to adopt him and give this big-hearted boy the home he deserves. 📌 Share to help Simba find his forever home Currently being cared in Southern California, but can be transported up to northern states, such as Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and anywhere within the US continental, if a great suitable family is willing to adopt him.

Story
How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by a community member on January 16, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Reggie is a fun-loving, high-energy boy around 1 year old who's always ready to get out and explore. He's confident, curious, and enjoys being on the move, whether that's heading out for a walk or investigating everything around him. Reggie can be a little jumpy at the start because he's so excited, but he settles in nicely once he's had some time to burn off energy.Reggie is partly independent and enjoys doing his own thing, but he never forgets about his person - he loves to check in, accept some pets, then head back out to play or sniff. He bonds quickly with people and has a sweet, friendly nature that makes him easy to like. He also enjoys entertaining himself with toys and does well settling after outdoor fun.On leash, Reggie walks well overall but can pull, especially when he sees other dogs, so continued leash training will help him shine. He's housetrained, easy to leash, and eager to make new friends. Reggie would do best with an active adopter who can keep up with his energy and help guide him as he grows into an amazing companion. At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 43 Age: 1yrs 0mths 1wks

Story
Kito reminds us of those popular dog toys, the Squishmallow's. No one told him he was an Akita and is supposed to be stoic, protective and scary. He is ALL wiggles, smiles and LOVES his volunteers and rescue teams. The world outside is still kind of scary but with each event hes getting better and better. Before he would frantically spin the entire walk, but now he will patiantly sit on the grass at our Point Loma event or on a Pack Walk. True to any large dog, he doesn't know hes massive and anyone sitting on the grass is bound to have a Kito as a lap warmer. He loves hugs, brushes and being told how darn good looking he is. He is quite large, so he will need someone strong and well grounded to walk him in the event something spooks him unexpectedly. Although he's never met a person he didn't like, due to size, we are saying no kids under the age of 15, he's just WAY too goofy and tall. Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  No off leash activites for life in unfenced areas.  I need to stay safe.To adopt: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/37765/genericTo foster: https://petstablished.com/foster_form/37764/genericEmail: awayhomefordogs@gmail.com ##1305366##

She is super sweet towards people, super patient and careful with kids. She was socialized as a pup and has not bitten a dog or person ever. She knows how to sit and stay and is treat motivated. I just have to rehome her due to a baby along the way. Other than that, she’s a great dog to have.

Story
Ludo came into our care after the passing of his beloved mom. He is approximately 15 years old and weighs about 70 lbs. According to his mom’s sister, Ludo was “deeply, deeply loved” and spent his life peacefully coexisting with two cats. Despite his age, he still lights up at walk time, enjoys playing with toys, and gets the most endearing, puppy-like zoomies when he’s excited. We’ll continue to share more about Ludo as he settles in. Stay tuned for updates on this sweet boy! To meet this handsome boy, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

Story
This is Miko, he is 10 years old. He absolutely loves humans and will smother you in love. He is stubborn but that comes with the territory of his breed. We got him from the humane society and he has adapted to home life very well. Unfortunately due to my health I have to rehome this sweet boy as soon as possible. I hope you become his new owner!
