Simba has spent too long waiting for his forever family. 💔 This strong and spirited Akita-Husky mix is full of energy, loves his toys, and is happiest on long walks or playing with his human. He’s sweet, loyal, and ready for the right home. If you’re looking for a dog with personality and heart, Simba is waiting to meet you! 🐕 Adopt Simba: https://form.jotform.com/221926016430144 Full profile: Simba is a 6-8-year-old Akita-Husky mix with the personality of an Akita and the heart of a lion. He’s playful, sweet, and full of energy but needs a confident and strong adopter who understands his needs. 💪 Strength & Training: Simba is powerful and can pull when excited, so he needs someone physically capable of managing his strength. He’s learning commands like sit, down, paw, and “potty” and thrives with structure. A harness might help with his pulling. 🐾 Energy & Personality: Simba is not always a couch potato! He loves long walks (2+ miles is no problem), playing with his toys, and getting plenty of attention. He’s affectionate and cuddly but always ready for adventure. 🏡 Home Needs: Simba would do best in a home without small children due to his strength and energy. He’s good with other dogs, especially more timid ones, but does best with boundaries around toys and space. He’s also quite the counter-surfer, so keeping things out of reach is key! 🐕 Health: Simba has a thyroid condition that is managed with treatment, giving him renewed energy and playfulness. Simba has had a lot of love and care from his foster, but he’s ready to find his forever home. If you’re looking for a strong, loyal, and playful companion, Simba could be your perfect match. 💙 Ready to meet Simba? Apply to adopt him and give this big-hearted boy the home he deserves. 📌 Share to help Simba find his forever home Currently being cared in Southern California, but can be transported up to northern states, such as Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and anywhere within the US continental, if a great suitable family is willing to adopt him.

Story
Meet Our Shepherd/Akita Girls! These beautiful 14-week-old female German Shepherd/Akita mix puppies are ready to find their forever families! Strong, smart, and stunning, these girls are going to be big dogs, so they’re looking for adopters prepared for large-breed companions who will grow alongside them.Currently thriving in foster homes, the girls are learning all about home life. They are working hard on potty training and gaining valuable social skills by living with other dogs, children, and in some cases cats. Their foster families are helping them build a great foundation, but continued training and socialization will be important as they grow.Because they are still puppies, adopters should expect to bring them back to the shelter multiple times to complete their vaccination series and for spay surgery. Each puppy will go home on a spay contract, which will be honored by the time she reaches 6 months of age. Adoption fee: $600.00If you’re interested in applying, please email adoption@columbiahumane.org. Once an approved application is on file, the foster family will reach out to schedule a meet-and-greet with the puppy. If you’re ready for a loyal, intelligent, large-breed companion, one of these girls may be the perfect addition to your family! For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgJanuary 22, 2026, 6:13 am

**All dogs are by appointment only, please inquire through Petfinder, Adopt-a-pet, Rescueme.org or e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org for the dogs questionnaire*** Meet Lucia, just over a year old, spayed female, Akita. Lucia is sweet, intelligent, strong-willed (like all Akita's), eager to learn, loves car rides and adventures. Lucia's ideal home would be someone with knowledge of the Akita breed, a fenced backyard, someone who will take her on adventures like hiking. She does well with calm male dogs of the same size or larger. If you are looking for a loyal, intelligent, adventure buddy, she is your gal. My adoption fee is $250

Story
Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! For instance, I am a busy boy, I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!! I am two VERY loyal breeds and once I know you are my family, you will have my unending love :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

These pups are in Hillsboro, Oregon too!

Story
HI - I'M ASPEN! I'm a sweet, gentle, and small 1-year-old male Siberian Husky mix ready to start my life with an awesome person or people. I was recently rescued from an overcrowded kill shelter in California, in the nick of time. I am good with other dogs, love people and would make a wonderful companion for an active person, couple or family who loves to walk, hike or go on road trips! I get along great with everyone - and I weigh only 48 lbs. I'm the perfect size. I really dodged a bullet -- I was made urgent for space at the shelter -- and I would love a chance to be adopted by an amazing person or people. I'm looking for a foster or forever home. I'm currently still in California, but can be transported to you in Oregon at no extra charge beyond the adoption fee. Please email for an application.

Louie is the perfect age for adoption! Tons of puppy love and energy but already potty trained, food trained, outside trained, and has good manners! He learns quickly and is overjoyed to make you happy. Malemute /mini Australian shepherd mix (in other words a high energy working dog breed mix. These dogs are statistically very healthy, live longer, & are much cheaper to insure! LOUIE is an adorable young pup. At only 14 months old he still has lots of puppy energy, but also adult maturity. Louie has some great training. He will never go outside without permission! and sits waiting to be told he can eat! Knows various commands and always potties outside. Good Dog. Fully grown Midsized dog at 40 lbs. Special Details: - One blue eye one brown eye. LOUIE will charm his new active owner. He wants to please and is smart! Louie is devoted to people , he really wants a person to engage with him. He would be perfect as an exercise companion, agility, hiking, running, biking, skiing or playing ball/frisbee! Louie is looking to make his humans happy! He wants to do a job to please you! Tiny tot humans confuse him. He is looking for humans to focus him. Louis is a great dog to the right person! He really is wonderful! He just isn’t suited to being shut up inside without enough exercise. Louis is a real dog (not a lap muffin). Lol Reason for rehoming: Louie has taken a strong disliking to both of our cats, his energy towards them isn’t good. We feel strongly that he should be adopted into a cat free home! Additionally with the demands of small children Louie isn’t getting the exercise, or the outside time, or the attention he deserves. We recognize Louie needs an active home. Leo loves playing and outdoor adventures with other dogs. He wants to bond to his people. Leo would be a true joy to an active owner or owners. Louie is a blend of high energy smart working dog breeds. Louie is a loyal companion! Louie has brains and desire to please his people. APPLY NOW BE LOUIE’s NEW PERSON. HE NEEDS A PLACEMENT SOON. YOU WILL BE OVERJOYED. Louie is an amazing dog! Adopt LOUIE as your new exercise buddy and most loyal companion! Fostersaveslives@outlook.com F.O.S.T.E.R., INC. is a small foster-based rescue. loves riding shotgun, long runs, would enjoy a yard, but our apartment was fine as long as he was exercised. loves his peanut butter mat & fetch!we are faced with rehoming because he goes after our remaining cat, since my 13 yo cat died. We cant dedicate enough time for him to thrive. My husband works, also leaves for military sometimes for a month, and in school. I watch the kids,my son is disabled, which requires all of my left over attention
