Whether it`s a wag of his fluffy tail or a gentle nuzzle, Rocky never fails to show his unwavering love and devotion. Adopting Rocky means welcoming a steadfast and affectionate companion into your life, ready to offer a lifetime of loyalty, comfort, and companionship to a family who understands the nature of Akitas. Rocky has not shown negative reactivity toward other dogs, however there is the possibility of him being selective...He should not be in a home with cats! Rocky is a leash walk only dog at this time as he has a tendency to run. Rocky has been nothing but sweet and eager to give lick the fingers of staff as they walk through the kennels!If you are interested in meeting her, please visit the shelter during our open hours; Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 10a-12p & 2p-4p, Thurs 10a-12p & 2p-5:30p, and Saturday 9a-1p. Complete an adoption application online to be pre-approved for adoption. If you do not own your home, bring consent from the property owner to have a dog on the property. As always, if you have another dog in the home, plan to bring them for a meet before you complete the adoption. Adoption fees: 6m and younger $250, 7m-5y $200, 6y-10y $150, 11y and older $100. Watch for adoption specials!!

Howlett is a happy, handsome guy that can be on the stubborn side at times. He is around a year old and will need someone who has experience with stubborn breeds and is willing to work with him. He knows sit and shake. Howlett loves to go outside for walks and loves to play in his play yard! He is treat motivated and loves to play with the kong toys! Howlett did test positive for Lyme but is currently on antibiotics for it. Due to no past history an age restriction for children in the home may apply, please discuss this with shelter staff. His name is Leo, he’s around 2 years only (not for sure he was a rescue) he knows how to sit, lay down, and wait for food until you say “okay”. He is fully house broken and walks gently on a leash, unfortunately he will not stay near or come to a command when off leash. He does like to roam. He was fixed in November of 2023. He is also microchipped (which hasn’t been activated yet) He does have heart worms that’s in the process of being treated. He will need to be on a preventative for the rest of his life. He had is month worth of doxycycline at 100mgs 2 a day starting on 10/25/23. He will need to be tested again for heart worms on 4/25/23

This sweet girl was very lucky to be found by a saint on St Patrick's day. She along with her 2 siblings are now safe in rescue and have started with the vetting process. They are quite talkative so we are thinking Husky mixes. They seem to be about 7 weeks old and will be ready to go to their forever homes 4-13th. They are probably going to be large dogs.
