Story
Meet Ruby 💎 Ruby is an extremely sweet and loving girl. She loves her people so deeply and isn’t biased on who gets her love! A giant bucket of pure joy! She loves to chew her toys! Also has the endurance for short walks and loves to explore new things to sniff! But she takes a strong arm as she is learning to not pull still. Continuing training with her is ideal as she has some catching up to do! With proper introductions- she happily lives with dogs! She does get overwhelmed with young children so we think it’s best that kids are older. She is crate trained, potty trained and knows basic commands. The parts we know of her past is heartbreaking! She was rescued from the kill list at Devour Animal Shelter. She was obviously used as a breeder dog who had many litters with the c section scars to prove it! Her back leg muscles were weak and she had urine burns which means she didn’t get time out of a crate besides being bred. Due to her past, she takes time to trust that other dogs are her friends. Ruby has been vaccinated, microchipped and fixed! She is ready for her new home! Ruby is about 5 years old.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Happy, active Bully! Herbie is a 2 year-old, 46 pound, neutered American Bully. This sweet boy is all things young bullies should be - Happy, Goofy, Pushy, Silly, and of course, a bit stubborn, but that is just his Bully charm. His ideal home will not only appreciate the Bully charm, but will understand and advocate for his unique needs. Check out his antics on his IG page @emma_and_the_fosters Those who know Bully breeds understand their special qualities that require additional care: breathing issues, skin allergies, ear and eye management, sensitive tummies, and heat sensitivity. Herbie, like most Bullies, will need special attention paid to these areas.  We asked his foster mom how she would describe Herbie, and she said, " I have had a few dogs and he is by far one of the best listeners. He listens well to commands (when ready) well behaved, potty trained, crate trained, loving, respectful, not destructive in the house, mellow and chill as long as he gets his exercise which isn’t much. Goofy and so fun. Always up for an adventure. He can be your side kick and he will just go along for the ride. He had a horrible past but his spirit is so strong and he is resilient. He hasn’t let his past stop him from trusting and loving everyone he meets. He is intelligent, food motivated, and wants to please you so he is very easy to train. In a short period of time, He has learned go to your crate, go to your bed, sit, stay, wait, touch, paw (both sides), down, and spin. He is very in tune with your emotions and watches your facial expressions to gauge your mood. He is easy to handle - cleaning his paws, ears, applying balm to his nose and other parts of his body are all non-issues. He loves a good bath. He sits the whole time you wash him. He does great at the vet." While Herbie has many basic commands mastered, leash walking is an ongoing project. He can get overly curious and excited, so needs to continue working wit his human on staying calm and focused on walks. Great ways to expend Herbie's energy include fetch, tug-of-war, food puzzles, and sniffing game of "find it." He can get jumpy when playing and for a little bully, he has an impressive jump!  Herbie would love to be your one and only. He can do well with other dogs with a proper, slow intro, but at home, he wants to cuddle his humans all on his own. And who can blame him?!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 3, 2025, 4:48 pm

Story
Looks like: Bulldog mix Female, 6 years old (estimated), 45 pounds Polly Pocket is one darling little lady who is ready to wiggle her way into your home. Polly is full of energy, and loves to play with people, pups and toys alike. She's a low-riding bundle of joy and is ready to give her new furever family a ton of love! She makes everyone giggle with her goofy smile and light-hearted nature. Polly also rides like a champ in the car and is super food motivated!! Polly loves to go for long walks multiple times a day with her foster dad. They are working hard on her leash etiquette and she can't wait to keep learning in her forever home. Polly gets along with other dogs and likes to play, but will let them know if they are invading her space too much by putting her paw on them. We love that she communicates like this, and think she will do best in a home with another dog who responds well to her boundaries. She has definitely had a few litters of puppies in the past, and we think Polly is showing her motherly instinct when she does this. She would also be great as a solo pup. This sweet lady came to us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services after she was picked up as a stray.

Story
Looks like: American Bulldog mix Male, 7 years old (estimated), 50 pounds Looking for a sweet treat? Meet Cupcake!! He's a handsome bully boy with a heart of gold and a calm demeanor that is sure to bring you serenity. Don't let his tough guy appearance fool you, this boy is as gentle and easy going as they come. Cupcake absolutely adores being around other dogs, big and small. He has also done well around a few children he's met out on walks! We would like to see this guy go to a home with minimal stairs, as his stout nature makes going up and down stairs a bit of a challenge. He seems love going for strolls and lounging in the sun. This darling boy joined us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services where he was brought in as a stray.

Story
Salem was adopted in December but the owner unfortunately cannot keep her so she is currently staying with me (her previous sitter and now foster mom) and I’m heartbroken that I am not able to keep her myself, but would love to remain her sitter if ever needed. She needs to be with an experienced dog owner who has been around special needs dogs. She is so sweet and chill, but is reactive to some dogs. - 5 years old (roughly) - 60lbs - Spayed - Potty trained, will cry when she needs to go - Kibble diet (Science Diet) - Good on car rides with hammock and bungee seatbelt - Beautiful, sweet, smart, silly, playful, chill - Loves walks, playtime, and hanging out on the couch - Good on walks with a pinch/choke collar and will only pull if you let her If you are looking for a constant companion who will love you to death but has some PTSD, then Salem is your girl. She needs an adopter who will be patient and kind. She is so easy to love and deserves to be loved back.

Story
Wick is a 90+ pound sweetheart with a big heart and an even bigger need for love. Loyal, affectionate, and gentle, he has all the makings of a perfect companion. But right now, shelter life is taking a toll. The noise, constant activity, and lack of routine are overwhelming for him—it’s clear he belongs in a home, not a kennel. What Wick truly needs is a calm, loving environment where he can exhale, feel safe, and return to being the happy, trusting dog we know he is. Even in the midst of his stress, Wick seeks out affection and leans into human connection. He enjoys quiet walks, soft beds, and simply being near his people.Wick is house-trained, neutered, and knows his basic commands. He gets along with some other dogs and would thrive with patient, experienced adopters who understand large-breed dogs and can give him time to settle in.He doesn’t need much—just stability, kindness, and a little room to stretch out. In return, Wick will offer you quiet companionship, unwavering loyalty, and a heart full of gratitude. Please consider opening your home to Wick—whether through adoption or foster. Helping him leave the shelter could be life-changing—for both of you. ??
