Story
Wick is a 90+ pound sweetheart with a big heart and an even bigger need for love. Loyal, affectionate, and gentle, he has all the makings of a perfect companion. But right now, shelter life is taking a toll. The noise, constant activity, and lack of routine are overwhelming for him—it’s clear he belongs in a home, not a kennel. What Wick truly needs is a calm, loving environment where he can exhale, feel safe, and return to being the happy, trusting dog we know he is. Even in the midst of his stress, Wick seeks out affection and leans into human connection. He enjoys quiet walks, soft beds, and simply being near his people.Wick is house-trained, neutered, and knows his basic commands. He gets along with some other dogs and would thrive with patient, experienced adopters who understand large-breed dogs and can give him time to settle in.He doesn’t need much—just stability, kindness, and a little room to stretch out. In return, Wick will offer you quiet companionship, unwavering loyalty, and a heart full of gratitude. Please consider opening your home to Wick—whether through adoption or foster. Helping him leave the shelter could be life-changing—for both of you. ??

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Happy, active Bully! Herbie is a 2 year-old, 46 pound, neutered American Bully. This sweet boy is all things young bullies should be - Happy, Goofy, Pushy, Silly, and of course, a bit stubborn, but that is just his Bully charm. His ideal home will not only appreciate the Bully charm, but will understand and advocate for his unique needs. Check out his antics on his IG page @emma_and_the_fosters Those who know Bully breeds understand their special qualities that require additional care: breathing issues, skin allergies, ear and eye management, sensitive tummies, and heat sensitivity. Herbie, like most Bullies, will need special attention paid to these areas.  We asked his foster mom how she would describe Herbie, and she said, " I have had a few dogs and he is by far one of the best listeners. He listens well to commands (when ready) well behaved, potty trained, crate trained, loving, respectful, not destructive in the house, mellow and chill as long as he gets his exercise which isn’t much. Goofy and so fun. Always up for an adventure. He can be your side kick and he will just go along for the ride. He had a horrible past but his spirit is so strong and he is resilient. He hasn’t let his past stop him from trusting and loving everyone he meets. He is intelligent, food motivated, and wants to please you so he is very easy to train. In a short period of time, He has learned go to your crate, go to your bed, sit, stay, wait, touch, paw (both sides), down, and spin. He is very in tune with your emotions and watches your facial expressions to gauge your mood. He is easy to handle - cleaning his paws, ears, applying balm to his nose and other parts of his body are all non-issues. He loves a good bath. He sits the whole time you wash him. He does great at the vet." While Herbie has many basic commands mastered, leash walking is an ongoing project. He can get overly curious and excited, so needs to continue working wit his human on staying calm and focused on walks. Great ways to expend Herbie's energy include fetch, tug-of-war, food puzzles, and sniffing game of "find it." He can get jumpy when playing and for a little bully, he has an impressive jump!  Herbie would love to be your one and only. He can do well with other dogs with a proper, slow intro, but at home, he wants to cuddle his humans all on his own. And who can blame him?!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 3, 2025, 4:48 pm

Story
Saturn was transferred to Valley Humane on 6/2 from Stockton Animal Services. Saturn is a young adult dog (estimated to be aged between 1 and 4 years old) and weighs 25.5 pounds.Saturn has a misaligned lower jaw. It does not appear to be causing her any pain or difficulty eating at this time. Please continue monitoring for any developing symptoms.Saturn was diagnosed with grade I patellar luxation in her left knee and a grade II patellar luxation in her right knee. This condition is common in small and toy breed dogs. In grade I, the patella sometimes moves out of place but returns to its normal position its own. In grade IV, the patella (kneecap) is constantly out of place and does not move back into its normal position. Grades II and III are intermediate in between these. Patellar luxation can cause occasional intermittent to constant lameness. Surgical correction should be considered if the dog shows frequent lameness or pain.Do you have questions about this animal or are you ready to take the next step to adoption? Pleasanton, CA
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Mr Lucky is estimated at over 10 years old. He came to CBR by luck and a hot mess on New Years eve. He had a large mass on his side, chronically infected ears and eyes plus what ened up being two, yes two, large tumors in his scrotum and what the vet believes are healed chemical burns all over his back and belly. All three masses have been removed as well as him being neutered. He also has meds for his eyes and ears, he doesn't like them but tolerates have the meds administered. Though he is a barker and despite everything life has thrown at him he is still a loving and affectionate dog. He pays almost no attention to the resident cat or goats. He may look at them or smell them but then waddles off to his next adventure. Which is normally laying on the couch chewing on a bone or rolling around on the dog bed/floor. He shows the resident dogs a little more attention with more intense smelling and given the opportunity has tried to dominate them by mounting them. He is easily redirected and happy to walk along side them on leash. He does well on leash everywhere and off leash in the yard. He will follow his people anywhere when he feels like it or barge into the bathroom looking for them if the door isn't closed all the way. Lucky isn't to fond of his crate yet but it's a work in progress. His ideal home is one where his person or people are home more than not and where he is able to lounge the day away without a crate.

Story
Nugget is an introvert's best friend! He's medium energy, loves going out for walks and he walks well on leash, is crate trained, and respects established thresholds. He enjoys sunbathing, splooting, rolling around in the grass, chasing the water hose / sprinkler, napping after exercise, and is very food motivated. Nugget is slow to trust - he needs time to get to know you and does best in a calm, structured environment. While Nugs is not a social butterfly, when he bonds with someone he bonds for life. Once he trusts you he turns into a giant cuddle bug who melts when given affection. Nugs is dog friendly, and responds well to slow introductions. Story
Hi, I’m Minnie! I’m a petite little lady with a heart full of love and a big personality to match my tiny body. I didn’t always have it easy — I was found as a stray, just wandering around looking for someone to love me. Thankfully, some very kind humans scooped me up and got me to California Bully Rescue, and now I’m ready for my forever home! I’m about 7 or 8 years old, and I’m what you’d call a professional chill girl. I like to take life nice and slow — especially when it comes to walks. I do my best on leash, but I’m not winning any races anytime soon. Honestly, I’d rather ride in a stroller and enjoy the view (like the queen I am). I’m super food motivated and love all things cozy — sunbathing, naps on the couch, snuggles with my humans, or curling up in my crate for a snooze. I’m very low-maintenance and happiest just being near you. Lately, I’ve even started getting into toys! Benebones, stuffies, squeaky things — I’m discovering they’re pretty fun! I get along great with other dogs and just have a really easy-going, gentle vibe. If you’re looking for a sweet, relaxed, and lovable companion who just wants to snuggle, snack, and soak up the sun with you — I’m your girl.
