Story
Tiger and Roxy are beautiful American Bulldog and Catahoula mixes. Tiger is 3.5 years old, Roxy is three. Tiger is hearing. Roxy is deaf. They are a bonded pair. Tiger is blue merle with one blue eye. Roxy is red merle with one blue eye. They are really unusual looking dogs. The merle in their coats comes from being crossed with Catahoula. I love this breed combo...Ambulls make great family pets and Catahoulas can be really hilarious. And these two are true to their breed mix. I cannot walk past them without smiling. They were surrendered to a high kill shelter together because their landlord made the owners give up their dogs. Both dogs were intact, and were barking when they were alone all day. (Roxy was in heat, which is what caused the frustration barking....they are actually pretty quiet dogs) They both weigh in at about 80-90 pounds, even after some slimming down, they are big dogs. They were indoor couch potatoes. They are both extremely affectionate dogs, and love to be with people. They are a little shy at first, as they haven't had a lot of socialization. It takes them about five minutes to know they are safe, and let the kisses begin. Everywhere they go, people point at them because they are such handsome and unique looking dogs. We absolutely will not entertain breaking up this highly bonded pair. They must be adopted together. We were told that Tiger was dog aggressive. He isn't. He can be barky protective if he thinks Roxy is threatened, and we've never seen as much as a growl from him. They should be adopted as the only two dogs in the home, please. They will be a lot happier. I can't articulate how incredibly nice these dogs are. They are a very special pair, unique in looks, overflowing with sweetness of temperament. They are like two little cartoon characters that live to make their people smile....and they sure do.  If you think you're the right lucky family to give these two a lifetime of love and security, please come and meet them, and prepare to fall in love. They are amazing. To meet Tiger and Roxy, please complete our online application for adoption: www.deafdogrescueofamerica.org/adoption-application.html   Please note that we are unable to respond to inquiries, emails or phone calls. Our adoption process starts with completion/submission of an application for adoption. All applications are reviewed as quickly as we can, and our adoption process is not first come, first served. We select our adoptive homes according to what our dogs/puppies require. If you are selected as an appropriate match, you will be contacted to set an appointment to visit the Ranch and meet Tiger and Roxy.  October 17, 2024, 12:18 am

Story
This silly lovable goof was found as a puppy on the freeway along with a litter mate. They were taken to a county shelter and the other pup was quickly adopted while Chip waited. He was struggling in the shelter so the family who found him, adopted him, out of fear he would be euthanized in the shelter. They knew that was not a long-term solution so they reached out to us for help. Chip is still very much a puppy even though he is a year and a half. We are working with him on his leash manners and basic commands. He is all puppy and quite strong so he will need a patient adopter who can help him with all things puppy. We have discovered we think he will do best as an only dog. You can see more videos of Chip on our Instagram page @thebrittanyfoundation. Because we require visits here to our rescue and in-person home checks, adoptions are limited to the Los Angeles, CA area.

Story
Wow! Wow! and Wow!!! This is by far one of the greatest dogs I have ever rescued. Bamboo was picked up as a stray in Kern County where he survived on the streets eating garbage. We had a little corn cob issue which is now resolved. To say this dog is magical is an understatement. Bamboo is so house respectful, lover of all people and dogs, incredibly affectionate, housebroke and no anxieties. He walks pretty good on a leash, loves his outings and adventures and would make anyone proud to own. Don't pass up on this very special boy. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.

Story
Hello, Ranger is a very sweet dog. My wife and I acquire him from a rescue in Lancaster in 2020. Ranger is 7 years old and 10 months. We have come to the very hard decision to rehome because of multiple reasons. Some of which are: we now have an infant and Ranger is not self aware when he becomes excited, and now that our baby is crawling I have to think about the safety of our child. We are looking for someone that is able to give him a lot of time and exercise. He is dog reactive, but we've had little success acclimating him to other dogs, so it is a possibility but will just take a lot of hard work and consistency. He is very stubborn, but very sweet. He is not registered, but does have a microchip. He has been an inside dog. We call him a dessert dog because he likes the heat and does not do well in cold. He would do well in a house with older children, he thinks he is a small dog but he's not so no little ones. We call him our doof.

Story
Mater the junkyard dog was found looking like a skeleton in the high desert. Assumed abandoned, this sweet soul was in deserperate need of some groceries. At intake, he weighed 31 pounds. After lots of TLC and food, Mater is now a happy healthy dog. He is active, playful, and a big dingus. His favorite activity is playing with his toys. He is a super chewer and needs lots of strong toys to chew on. He spent two weeks at a board and train to learn manners, and has a really strong foundation. (His trainer provides lifetime lessons for his adopter).  Mater does have a high prey drive, so no small animals or dogs. He is great with other dogs and would do well with another dog. He has been around kids but due to his energy, older kids would be best.  Mater is desperate for somoene to show him some love and attention. He is a bit of a project dog, but once he has a strong leader and a home, I know he is going to be an incredible dog!  He is crate trained and working on house training. Foster to adopt is always an option.    Thank you for wanting to adopt from Hank's Legacy Foundation.
