Jaeger is a large, very strong American bulldog / pit mix who is super obedient, playful, and affectionate. Although we have trained him to ignore livestock on the property where he is currently homed, he has shown “gamey” tendencies towards horses and pigs and would probably not be well suited to a farm with livestock. He has not shown any dog aggression thus far, but would not be a good candidate for the dog park or living with another strong male dog. Jaeger loves to run and would be good on the leash with a cyclist. He would also likely be excellent with kids. Cowboy was rescued by a Good Samaritan who found him tied to something out in the middle of nowhere. He almost died from starvation but even after everything he's been through he's still an amazing dog that loves people. He's great with strangers but can be territorial with his humans. He is an American Bulldog that requires experience. He needs a strong handler and nothing less. He requires a large 6 ft fenced yard and can be an escape artist. If he can squeeze through a gate he will go for a run and visit with people or other dogs. So a secure yard is required. He also requires a heavy duty crate when left alone because he knows how to unlock them. He really is a special dog and is very affectionate and loving. He does good with female dogs only and he doesn't like rough play at all. He's a gentle soul for a 5 year old. Aside from him being stunning he requires attention. He is an inside dog that loves the couch or his dog bed for comfort. He's not into toys like balls or stuffed animals but loves healthy treats and bones. He loves car rides and although he's a playful dog he is generally very calm and lazy. His environment needs to be quiet and not chaotic. Any arguments in the home will cause him to become protective and problematic. So a calm home is required. He loves walks and has prey drive so he can't be left alone outside unattended at anytime. No cats. No children. Adult home only. Yard required.

Heddo! My name is Cade, and I’m an American Bulldog. I am three years old. I was rescued by Samson's Sanctuary after I was dumped out of a car in Azusa, CA. I may be a big guy, but I have a big heart full of love to give. I love nothing more than to sprawl out on the couch, flip over and let my belly be exposed to the world. It's my favorite position to sleep in, and it shows how comfortable and relaxed I am in my home. Because of my past, I’m a bit cautious around men. I'm more comfortable at first if a female is around too. It's not that I don't like men, I just need time to warm up to them. Once I trust you, though, I will love you fiercely and never forget you. Oh boy, do I love adventures! I'm always up for a good hike in the great outdoors. I love to be in water! There's so much to explore and so many new smells to sniff. I love getting my nose into everything and finding out what's around the next corner. When I'm out hiking, I like to take my time and really soak it all in. I’m independent but I do love spending time together, I prefer my people to be home with me but I don’t need to be in the same room with you always. I will rest my big head on your lap occasionally and I will sit in your lap for butt scratches. I prefer to be pet on my back until I trust you and then you can touch my head. I get along great with other dogs my size and smaller as long as they are friendly, but I do like to chase cats, so we probably wouldn’t be the best roommates. I’d be great in a home with older kids due to my size. One thing you should know about me is that I'm food motivated. If you've got a tasty treat for me, I'll do just about anything you ask and I will drool to prove it. And if someone comes to the door, I'll be sure to let you know. I'm a great guard dog and always on alert. I LOVE squeaky toys and tug of war. I’m also very fond of BONES and frozen tasty treats. I’ve been in foster care for almost a year! But, my foster mom and trainer work hard on teaching me new skills and giving me structure and boundaries. I walk with a loose leash, I am muzzle trained, I know multiple commands and will work for food. I don’t mean to brag but I am extremely smart and learn very quickly! I need mental stimulation and a good amount of space for my zoomies. I even have my own social media @CadeTheBulldog ! Check out all my awesome adventures! All I really want is a caring and patient family who will love me for who I am and take me on all sorts of adventures, even better if you have previous American Bulldog experience.

He loves his people, hiking, running, sunbathing, and chewing his frozen KONG full of Greek yogurt, but above all he loves other dogs! He matches the energy of any dog he meets; he can play all out or just sit next to them to watch the world go by. He is a truly remarkable influencer of other pups. For instance, he changed my 5 adjoining neighbor dogs from incessant aggressive barkers to eager, patient, quiet and playful observers. He does not bark, nor growl. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows many commands like no, off, sit, down, stay, heel, etc. He is very sweet and likes people, he can seem shy at the beginning, but he makes quick friends. He is the perfect buddy to hike with and then go get a snack al fresco, or just chill on a Sunday morning sunbathing in the garden. He has Trupanion health insurance with no pre-existing conditions.
