Story
Barkley is a fantastic puppy. I haven’t seen any signs of fear toward people—in fact, I see very little fear at all. He seems to be a stable, confident, and balanced little guy. I haven’t noticed any separation anxiety outside the normal scope for a young puppy. He may whine a bit in the crate, but he settles quickly and recovers well. It’s not excessive and well within what’s typical for his age. Barkley is very patient during training. He follows a lure beautifully, and it’s easy to shape new behaviors with him. We’re currently working on marker words and leash skills, and he’s picking up the concepts quickly. This is going to be an easy dog to train. He’s also very neutral to loud noises and environmental stimuli, which is a great trait in a puppy. His energy level is mild—not over the top—which makes him a really enjoyable companion. Barkley’s going to make a wonderful dog for just about anyone Thank you for wanting to adopt from Hank's Legacy Foundation. Story
Tiger and Roxy are beautiful American Bulldog and Catahoula mixes. Tiger is 3.5 years old, Roxy is three. Tiger is hearing. Roxy is deaf. They are a bonded pair. Tiger is blue merle with one blue eye. Roxy is red merle with one blue eye. They are really unusual looking dogs. The merle in their coats comes from being crossed with Catahoula. I love this breed combo...Ambulls make great family pets and Catahoulas can be really hilarious. And these two are true to their breed mix. I cannot walk past them without smiling. They were surrendered to a high kill shelter together because their landlord made the owners give up their dogs. Both dogs were intact, and were barking when they were alone all day. (Roxy was in heat, which is what caused the frustration barking....they are actually pretty quiet dogs) They both weigh in at about 80-90 pounds, even after some slimming down, they are big dogs. They were indoor couch potatoes. They are both extremely affectionate dogs, and love to be with people. They are a little shy at first, as they haven't had a lot of socialization. It takes them about five minutes to know they are safe, and let the kisses begin. Everywhere they go, people point at them because they are such handsome and unique looking dogs. We absolutely will not entertain breaking up this highly bonded pair. They must be adopted together. We were told that Tiger was dog aggressive. He isn't. He can be barky protective if he thinks Roxy is threatened, and we've never seen as much as a growl from him. They should be adopted as the only two dogs in the home, please. They will be a lot happier. I can't articulate how incredibly nice these dogs are. They are a very special pair, unique in looks, overflowing with sweetness of temperament. They are like two little cartoon characters that live to make their people smile....and they sure do.  If you think you're the right lucky family to give these two a lifetime of love and security, please come and meet them, and prepare to fall in love. They are amazing. To meet Tiger and Roxy, please complete our online application for adoption: www.deafdogrescueofamerica.org/adoption-application.html   Please note that we are unable to respond to inquiries, emails or phone calls. Our adoption process starts with completion/submission of an application for adoption. All applications are reviewed as quickly as we can, and our adoption process is not first come, first served. We select our adoptive homes according to what our dogs/puppies require. If you are selected as an appropriate match, you will be contacted to set an appointment to visit the Ranch and meet Tiger and Roxy.  November 3, 2024, 12:20 am

Story
Lucy is a senior sweetheart (8–10 years old) who’s been through more than her fair share of heartbreak. She’s been abandoned not once, but at least three different times. Found in the desert, shuffled between rescues, and left behind again, Lucy has shown nothing but resilience and grace through it all. Despite her rough past, Lucy is a true gentle soul. She’s house trained, crate trained, and respectful of people’s space. Her soft eyes say everything—she’s ready for a quiet, loving home where she can finally feel safe. Lucy would do best in a calm environment, without small kids, and as either the only dog or alongside other mellow seniors. After such a hard life, she deserves nothing less than an extra-soft landing. Could you be the one to show Lucy what forever really means? Story
Biggie is a 3-4 year-old pitbull with a heart as big as his smile! This happy, playful guy is full of energy and always ready for an adventure; a game of fetch, a long walk, or just zooming around the yard, Biggie’s enthusiasm is contagious. He does great with other dogs and even gets along with cats, making him a wonderful addition to a multi-pet household. Because of his energy and strength, Biggie would thrive with a confident handler who can keep up with his playful spirit. Older kids are recommended, simply because Biggie may not realize how strong he is when he’s excited. Biggie is loyal, affectionate, and eager to please—he just needs a forever family who will give him the love and guidance he deserves. If you’re looking for an active, fun-loving companion who will always keep a smile on your face, Biggie is your guy! Ready to meet Biggie? He can’t wait to meet you!
