Tootsey is happy trotting smushface. Talk about being greeted with a smile everyday when you come home. She is a love bug, she enjoys belly rubs and quality time. Toots girl was sadly left behind by an owner that passed from a car accident. She and her mother found shelter and safety with a foster that has tended to them for an extended period of time. This sweet girl is crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, is a friendly pup to all people. She is somewhat of a slug and little hippo. She enjoys laying around in heaps of fluff, eating yummy treats and bringing loving vibes to any home. Tootsey would love to live in a family but as an only dog or pet. She doesn’t do the best with other animals but is easy to control and would be more than happy to have a beautiful yard to herself. Hello! My name`s Putter from the golf litter! I was adopted as a puppy and returned to the shelter at 6 years old in May 2023 when my humans had a baby. I`m looking for a nice cozy home to retire in! I am an American Bulldog/Retriever mix weighing around 62lbs. I am a sweet, smart dog who is considered medium/low energy. My favorite things include cuddling, car rides, walks, and playtime! Everyone tells me that I`m the goofiest dog in the rescue and everyone adores my play growl, play hops, and play bows! I`m also told that I walk fantastic on a leash and have wonderful manners where I don`t pull. I know to do my business outside and will even sit by the door to alert my owners that I need to go. I don`t mind the crate and I can be trusted outside of the crate as well. I don`t chew up stuff I`m not supposed to either! I also know basic commands such as sit, paw, other paw, lay down, and roll over!I’ve been working on my socializing skills & can do good around kids in public, but I’d prefer my forever home with older or no kids since their rambunctious energy can still make me nervous. I also wasn`t properly socialized with other dogs growing up so I need to go to a home where I`m the only pet. Koko loves cuddles, tummy rubs, and curling up close at night (she sleeps soundly through the night!). She’s also very food-motivated and loves her stuffed toys — her favorite pastime is “roughing up” her plushies with great enthusiasm!Koko is fully potty trained and knows how to sit. She’s also a very smart girl who learns quickly when given structure and consistency.However, Koko struggles with reactivity and anxiety, especially around other dogs. On walks, she becomes highly reactive — lunging, barking, and spinning when she sees another dog. She also reacts to movement outside (people, dogs, trucks) and even to animals she sees on TV. These behaviors stem from fear and over-stimulation, not aggression, and she’ll need a patient, experienced adopter willing to work with a positive-based trainer to help her continue learning.Koko also gets anxious when her people leave. She’s making progress with crate training but still needs reassurance and consistency to feel comfortable when alone.Because of her reactivity, Koko should be the only pet in the home, and a calm, adult-only household would be best for her at this time.
