Story
Pickles: The World`s Most Handsome (and Slightly Jerky) French Bulldog Seeking Forever HomeMeet Pickles, the one-year-old French Bulldog with the swagger of a lion and the heart of a (very stubborn) diva. He’s tiny in size, but his ego is massive—think Napoleon if Napoleon wore a leather jacket, snored like a chainsaw, and refused to share his bed.Pickles is a dog of discerning taste. If you don’t have treats, he’s probably not that interested in you, but if you do, he’ll let you bask in his presence… for a few moments, at least. He’s not just cute—he knows it. And trust us, he’ll remind you every chance he gets with a look that says, “Yes, I am this handsome. You’re welcome.”We are looking for an experienced dog lover who’s ready to put in the work. Pickles is not a `throw him a bone and call it a day` type of guy. He’s got attitude for days, and he’ll test your patience. But with the right dedication, Pickles could become the loyal, well-mannered companion you never knew you needed (but always wanted). Think of him as a project—a very cute, very snarky, treat-motivated project.Things to Know:No kids—Pickles needs to be the main event. Period. Kids just don’t get that.He snores. Loudly. Like, shake-the-walls loud. But he’s too cute for you to care. He’s a bit of a jerk, but honestly, who isn’t when they’re this adorable?Training is non-negotiable. His new family must have a professional training program in place at the time of adoption. Pickles isn’t a “figure it out as you go” kind of guy. He needs a structured approach to help him become the well-mannered king he thinks he is (spoiler alert: he`s still learning). So, if you’re ready to handle a dog with a big attitude, a little sass, and a ton of love to give (when he’s in the mood), then Pickles just might be the little snuggle bug you never knew you needed.Apply today… but only if you’ve got treats. He’s not impressed otherwise. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN SAVING A LIFE!Volunteers and staff are excited to assist you in the adoption process! Story
Meet Cornelia! Cornelia came to us from Chicago Animal Care & Control and is currently in a foster home. Cornelia loves to snuggle and is happy as long as she's near people! Cornelia's unique stature (big ears, head and paws on short and stocky frame) turns heads and brings smiles everywhere she goes. It's not uncommon for Cornelia to receive several compliments while out and about - she really is that adorable! While in foster, she has been exposed to men, women and kids (ages 3-10) entering and leaving the home and has charmed everyone she's met. Cornelia is dog-friendly and currently living with another female dog in her foster home. She has never shown any sign of food or toy aggression. She is curious, as every experience is new to her, and loves to explore. She also loves to play with her squeaky toys! She is housebroken and is working on learning commands and leash skills. Cornelia still has a lot to learn and would do well with a family who will continue to show her the ropes.
